Summary[]

Alastor is one of the main characters in Hazbin Hotel. Formerly, he was a radio host and serial killer from New Orleans, Louisiana, a charming gentleman overcoming so much to be the star of his own radio show, but despite that was still a serial killer. Knowing his fate in the afterlife, he sought to ensure that he avoids a miserable life there, summoning Rosie and making a deal with her to become the most powerful Sinner in all of Hell in exchange of his soul until he fulfills Rosie's task. After another one of his murders, he was mistakened for a deer in the darkness of night and got shot straight into head. Following his death and arriving in Hell, he toppled Overlords who had ruled over Hell for centuries overnight, boasting power never seen before in a mortal soul, thus becoming an Overlord himself. During this period, he broadcasted his carnage through a radio for the populace to witness, earning him the title of The Radio Demon.

Intelligence: Genius (Alastor is cunning, deceitful, and manipulative, having been a serial killer during his time alive, retaining a state of unpredictability by feigning weakness and neglecting to use his powers,[47] playing into his target's weaknesses, as seen when he antagonized Sir Pentious and sent him into a blind rage,[1] and maintaining a charming and pleasant exterior in order to mask his malicious and tyrannical nature, opening up those around him to a false sense of security, all for his entertainment. Can speak French, although not fluently,[19] which he did during the summoning of Rosie.[8] Can play piano.[4][8] Came up with a plan to fix his own problems regarding his deal with Rosie that he was unpleased with,[8][9] which involved manipulating Vox into believing that he is weaker and is forced to desperately offer a defeating deal,[8] while in reality he planned to use Vox's insecurities to both make him the strongest Sinner, nullifying his deal with Rosie, as well as make Vox lay hands on Charlie, which freed him as Vox's part of the deal was not to lay hand on her,[9] while also causing internal division between Vs by pressuring on Vox's insecurities,[14][35][15] all while implying that this is rather easy for him.[15] While weakened, was still beating Vox who became the strongest Sinner via skill[9])

Standard Tactics: Alastor's main method of attacking is by conjuring shadowy tentacles to attack, grab, tear apart, throw away, or crush his opponents. He uses his minions to distract and blindside the opponent, and loves using sneak attacks while the opponent doesn't expect it with either his shadow or tentacle. In defense, he either uses his tentacles and shields or just dodges the incoming attacks, be it physically or through teleportation. He can also exist as shadow while being on defensive, and use tentacles to float in the air. He may also use his explosion abilities if they fit the situation he is in.

Weaknesses: Alastor is not the kind of killer that follows or chases people since he has a strange ethical code against it. Demons can be truly killed by an angel's weapon or by angelic power. His cane is an important contributor to his power; if destroyed, all of his powers will briefly get nullified and he himself will be weakened severely.[6] | Is much weaker after his cane broke,[6] and the wound from General of Exorcists makes him even weaker as stated by Vox.[8] His magic is severely strained, as shown when he tries to do magic,[8] and by him tapping on his broken cane as he struggles to do magic.[8] His chest wound is his weak spot, as seen with the fact that damagin it causes him to throw up blood.[8]

Notable Attacks/Techniques:
  • Deals — some demons are able to make a pact or deal with a soul, this is part of their main power and the hierarchy of powers in Hell is built on this. And the more contracts for the possession of souls a demon has made, the more power it will gain. Deal-making is not something every demon can do, as such it is not to be taken lightly as it doesn't generally work out well for the other party. Alastor, with his incredible observation and manipulation skills, can wait till the most desperate point of his target, thus making it to accept his deal despite not doing so under normal circumstances. By using this tactic, he even acquired the Princess of Hell herself as a debtor to him.
  • Aura — Alastor can make a perception-altering aura around either himself or at a distance, which takes form of either red glitching or glowing red symbols, reminiscent of voodoo symbols, that levitate around him.
  • Demon Form — Alastor is capable of taking on a demon form, which seems to greatly alter his appearance, making him look even more like a Deer. In battle, at his will, his Demon Form is usually accompanied by the growth of tentacles from his back when transforming, either to attack the opponent, to throw them far away, to tear them apart, or to simply lift himself into the air. If he wishes, he can transform into his Full Demon Form, changing his size to an incredibly large size, allowing him to eat shark demons whole.
  • Microphone Cane — Alastor has a microphone-shaped cane with one eye that he can summon at any time and even bring to life if he wants to. It is the extension of himself, and the main tool in using his powers. Its breakdown deprives Alastor from any and every ability that Alastor had been using prior to the break, immensily weakining him unless it's fixed, although his abilities will return to him after a brief period even if the cane is still broken.
  • Shadow Manipulation — Alastor has shown to be capable of manipulating shadows to a very high level, which takes different forms.
  • Tentacles - Alastor can create black octopus-like tentacles to attack the enemy, usually to attack, to tear them apart, restrain, or just throw away. Sometimes he can wish to make these tentacles go out of portal, but usually he just spawns them out of nowhere. He can also summon them from his back and can create tentacles from outside his body, something he usually does during his Demon Form. Also, against more serious opponents, these tentacles are covered with electricity to make his attacks as effective as possible.
  • Shadow Teleportation — Alastor can melt into shadow to instantly move and teleport from one area to another. If he wants to, he can use his sentient shadow to do that as well.
  • Minions — Alastor can create various kinds of minions in shadow, whether by snap or thought, depending on his preference. One type of minions looks more friendly and help him with more harmless needs, like singing, repairing, or filming, whole the other type of them looks more sinister and hostile, whom he spawns in battles to distract or even potentially attack the opponent.
  • Sentient Shadow — Alastor’s shadow seems to have a mind of its own, or possibly represents what Alastor is actually thinking in his head. Alastor has shown the ability to control the state of his shadow, making it sentient, making it a regular shadow, and even making it go away whenever he desires. He can use it simply for no reason, but sometimes it can be used in combat, such as teleportating Alastor away from the battlefield or even attacking the enemy, as happed in a fight against General of the Exorcists.
  • Shield Creation - Alastor is able to create a giant shadow barrier that can cover huge areas, like a hotel and a small hill together.
  • Pyrokinesis — Alastor can manipulate fire, whether it is a green flame or a regular one, big or small, in his hand or at a distance.
  • Creation — Alastor can create things from nothing by just a snap or a movement of his hand.
  • Cloth Manipulation — with a snap of his fingers, Alastor can change the clothing of himself and others. Can create clothes and put them on others with a thought.
  • Fragokinesis — Alastor is capable of creating large explosions, whether it be due to the extreme strength of his tentacles or simply out of nowhere.
  • Electricity Manipulation — Alastor can generate electricity to power things, such as smartwatch. Alastor can also generate green electricity on his own tentacles or even simply in the air.
  • Teleportation — Alastor can instantly teleport himself wherever he wants even without melting into the shadows. He can also teleport other people, objects, or even entire locations if he desires to.
  • Light Manipulation — Alastor can project a bright light from his eye on the microphone, yellow light from his teeth, green or red light around himself and the area, and cause any part of his body (especially his eyes) to glow different colors. He can also control the light from the lightbulbs if he wishes to.
  • Technokinesis — Alastor can make his entire appearance in all videos and photos be covered with a distorted glitch effect. He can also manually manipulate cameras and TVs.
