Yog-Sothoth from the Cthulhu Mythos

Summary

Beyond-Dimensional Physiology is a term referring to characters or realms that transcend dimensionality as a whole, or alternatively the concepts of dimensions and/or space. Not only are these characters at that level of power, but their "existence" or "being" as a whole is likewise unbound by dimensionality and/or spatiality. Hence, this type of physiology is reserved for entities falling under tiers 1-A through 1-S.

Applications

  • Attack Potency; As shown in the Tiering System, the requisites for this state of being match those of being Outerversal in strength.
  • Speed; Likewise, should an entity's existence transcend the aforementioned categories, concepts such as time, speed and distance would be irrelevant to them as a result, which would qualify them for Irrelevant speed.
  • Large Size (Type 11); Characters who are beyond-dimensional would surpass the concept of size as related to dimensionality.
  • Acausality (Type 5)
  • Resistance to Space-Time Manipulation

Notes

  • Note 1: The portrayal of beings like this varies throughout fiction. Technically speaking, they would be too large to fit within space by virtue of they themselves surpassing it entirely. This often results in characters making avatars as their only means of interaction. On the other hand, it is also incredibly common for characters with statements qualifying for Beyond-Dimensional Physiology not to be portrayed this way. They can be shown to be the same size as any other person, but this portrayal isn't inherently a contradiction or an issue. Often times that's just how it is, especially considering that showcasing characters of the former nature in a meaningful or consistent way is often quite difficult.
  • Note 2: It should not be assumed that a character or realm inherently has Beyond-Dimensional Physiology solely due to the apparent lack of such qualities. This ability is specifically in reference to characters whose "physiology" transcends or is outright superior to dimensionality and other related concepts. This isn't to say that such statements are wholly irrelevant, however, and with the right context they can easily be used as supporting evidence for Beyond-Dimensional Physiology.
