“ | Me am Superman! Me am hero! | „ |
~ Bizarro |
Summary[]
At some point following Superman's debut, Lex Luthor decided to start a program that created clones of Superman in order to rent out their services, as bodyguards and the like. The program was met with middling (at best) success, but the project seemed to have had a lucky break when they created a clone with actual superpowers that was capable of speech and thought. However, after a confrontation with the real Man of Steel, the clone's cells degenerated, turning it into an unintelligent, naive and monstrous psuedo-Kryptonian that Mercy Graves cruelly dubbed "Bizarro." Bizarro himself was not evil, rather easily misled - and as such, when he clashed with Superman and his allies over the years, it was mostly due to misunderstandings or Bizarro being manipulated.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: High 6-A to 5-B, possibly higher
Name: Bizarro, though technically he's a clone of Kal-El of Krypton
Origin: The DC Animated Universe
Gender: Male
Age: Only a few years old by the time of JLU
Classification: Kryptonian, Member of the Legion of Doom
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics (See Attack Potency, Speed, Lifting Strength, and Durability)
- Flight (Can freely fly at incredible speeds)
- Enhanced Senses (Possesses super-hearing, as seen when he heard the growling of an (underground) alien creature from an incredible distance away)
- Energy Projection and Heat Manipulation (with Heat Vision - Bizarro can use heat vision as a huge burst of energy or for precision work, such as sealing a crack in metal)
- BFR (Threw a crane across Metropolis. Tossed an ICBM far into the sky)
- Resistance to Cosmic Radiations (Wasn't affected by the radiations of outer space when Mxyzptlk teleported him there, only its lack of air)
- He may have more abilities, but due to the fact that his genetic structure is shown to deviate wildly from Superman's, we cannot be certain he possesses every ability normal Kryptonians do.
Attack Potency: Multi-Continental to Planet Level (While not nearly as strong due to his cellular deterioration, he is still a clone of Superman, and can give him some slight pause - however, Superman holds back in all of their encounters in deference to the fact that Bizarro is not truly evil, just easily misled (even the scuff marks on Supes after their fight in “Dead Reckoning” can easily be dismissed as dirt from the walls the two slammed through rather than damage) and still wins handily every time, alongside ample scaling and statements proving that Superman is head-and-shoulders above his failed clone in terms of strength. Harmed Wonder Woman, ragdolling her twice, and is strongly implied to be comparable to Giganta. See here for my reasoning as to why DCAU Superman is not Low Complex Multiversal), possibly higher (The exact extent to which many of the series' characters scale to feats such as "a thousand lanterns" being capable of holding the sun together is impossible to be sure of, so it's only listed as a possible end)
Speed: At least Relativistic combat speed and reactions (Speedblitzed Wonder Woman on two separate occasions, and kept up (to some extent) with a holding-back Superman, though when utilizing his full speed (to protect Lois Lane) Superman is shown capable of blitzing him), possibly MFTL+ (It's possible that Lanterns' travel speed scales to their combat speed, though personally I've never seen any arguments for that which were nearly compelling enough for me to claim it's definitive), with at least Supersonic, if not Hypersonic flight speed (Quickly caught up to a ballistic missile in its boost phase, though the missile had clearly not reached its 7km/s burnout speed yet since the boosters were still going)
Lifting Strength: Class M (Lifted and threw a ICBM with such force that its jets activated. Assuming that jet systems on an ICBM typically activate once it reaches Mach 5 (a reasonable assumption considering the general mechanics of ICBM propulsion), seeing that Bizarro took about a second to toss the missile, and taking into account that a typical ICBM weighs about 30,000 kg, we can quickly calculate that Bizarro's exerting something to the tune of 500 million newtons. Threw a crane across Metropolis. Landed a helicopter. Stopped a ship’s gears from spinning to the point that the ship began to collapse. Held up some of a collapsing building - however, the amount of effort this takes him does not appear to be consistent with his own feats, let alone the LS feats he scales above which exceed this. Lifted an escalator. Should be substantially stronger than Bane. Likely scales to the lifting strength of Wonder Woman, who he could overwhelm in a fistfight. Likely stronger than Booster Gold, whose super-suit made him strong enough to hold himself and a civilian in place against a gravitational anomaly that sucked in a building despite the building being farther from the epicenter of the phenomenon than Booster himself)
Striking Strength: Multi-Continent Class to Planet Class
Durability: Multi-Continental to Planet Level (Should be capable of withstanding his own physical power. Survived a half-kiloton blast with no notable injury)
Stamina: At least Athletic (Didn't seem tired at all during his battles with Superman)
Range: Standard Melee Range physically, and Tens of Meters with Heat Vision (Created an energy pulse that stretched across a dojo courtyard)
Standard Equipment: None Notable
Standard Tactics: Due to his low intelligence, generally launches a full-frontal attack when provoked, without strategizing whatsoever.
Intelligence: Below Average (As a consequence of his cellular degeneration)
Weaknesses: Is extremely naive and slow-witted. Can be incapacitated by electricity. His super-hearing makes him extremely susceptible to sonic attacks.
Note: Bruce Timm has stated that the original DCAU tie-in comics are not canon, with the only tie in comics that have statements to the contrary (other than Batman: The Adventures Continue, which has so many continuity issues that it's essentially impossible to argue it's canon) being Justice League Infinity, the Batman and Harley Quinn tie in comics, and specifically the first annual of Batman Adventures. Ergo, I only consider those three comics canon.
