Summary[]

Braviary is a dual Normal and Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 5. It is known as the Valiant Pokémon. It evolves from Rufflet starting at level 54. It has a Dual Psychic and Flying-type regional variant in the Hisui region. It evolves from Rufflet starting at level 54. All Rufflet in Hisui will evolve into this form regardless of their origin.

Speed: Subsonic Movement Speed (Braviary is capable of learning Aerial Ace, a move based on Sasaki Kojirō's "Turning Swallow Cut" sword technique, which was reputedly so quick and precise that it could strike down a bird in mid-flight. Braviary is based on a bald eagele, so it should be comparable to it in speed. Bald eagles are capable of reaching speeds of 120.701 - 160 km/h (33.52805556 - 44.4444 m/s) when dive bombing) with Massively Hypersonic+ Combat Speed (Superior to Rufflet, who is capable of learning Quick Attack, which has the original Japanese name of "Lightning Speed," meaning that when the move is used, Rufflet moves at the speed of lightning) and FTL Reaction Speed (All Pokémon available in Pokémon GO are capable of dodging Solar Beam, which is a bundled beam of gathered sunlight), Higher via Tailwind (This doubles the speed of Braviary and it's allies) | Subsonic Movement Speed (Hisuian Braviary is also capable of learning Aerial Ace) with Massively Hypersonic+ Combat Speed (Hisuian Braviary is capable of learning Quick Attack) and FTL Reaction Speed (Should be comparable to it's Unovian counterpart), Higher via Esper Wing (This move raises Hisuian Braviary's action speed)

Stamina: Very High (Braviary will continue to fight on even if it's injured or it's life is threatened)

Range: Standard Melee Range, Tens of Kilometers with Air Manipulation

Weaknesses: Braviary is weak to Rock, Electric, and Ice-type moves and is very agressive and hot-headed. Braviary will hurt itself each time it uses Brave Bird and will confuse itself each time it uses Thrash. Each time it uses Superpower, it's it's Physical Power and Durability decreases. Hone Claws can only counteract half of this, as it raises Physical Attack, but not Physical Defense | Hisuian Braviary is weak to Rock, Electric, Ice, Ghost, and Dark-type moves.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Peck: Braviary jabbs the target with it's sharply pointed beak
  • Leer: Braviary gives the opponent an intimidating leer with sharp eyes. This lower's the opponent's Defense by 1 stage
  • Fury Attack: Braviary jabbs the targrt repeatedly with it's sharp beak 2 - 5 times in a row
  • Wing Attack: Braviary spreads it's large, imposing wings wide and charges at the opponent, striking them with it's wings to inflict damage
  • Hone Claws: Braviary sharpens its talons. This boosts its Attack stat and Accuracy by 1 stage each
  • Scary Face: Braviary frightens the opponent with a scary face. This lowers the opponent's Speed stat by 2 stages
  • Aerial Ace: Braviary confounds the target with speed, then slashes. This attack never misses
  • Slash: Braviary slashes the opponent with it's talons. This attack has a high critical-hit ratio
  • Defog: Braviary whips up a strong wind that can clear deep fog, etc. This blows away the target’s barriers, such as Reflect or Light Screen, and lowers their evasiveness by 1 stage
  • Tailwind: Braviary whips up a turbulent whirlwind that doubles the Speed stats of both Braviary and its allies for 4 turns
  • Air Slash: Braviary creates a blade of air that slices even the sky and launches it at the opponent. This attack also has a 30% chance of causing the opponent to flinch
  • Crush Claw: Braviary tears and slashes the target with it's hard and sharp talons. This also has a 50% chance of lowering the target's Defense stat by 1 stage
  • Sky Drop: Braviary takes the target into the sky, then drops it during the next turn. The target cannot attack while in the sky
  • Superpower: Braviary attacks the target with great power. However, this also lowers Braviary's Attack and Defense stats by 1 stage each
  • Whirlwind: Braviary generates a powerful wind that blows the target away and switches it out with another Pokémon in its party. In the wild, a battle against a single Pokémon ends
  • Brave Bird: Braviary tucks in its wings and charges at the opponent from a low altitude. Braviary also sustains damage equal to 1/3 of the damage it dealt to the opponent in recoil
  • Thrash: Braviary rampages and attacks blindly and randomly for 2 - 3 turns. Afterwards, Braviary becomes confused
  • Quick Attack: Hisuian Braviary dashes toward the target at a speed that makes it invisible for a split second. This move almost always goes first
  • Twister: Hisuian Braviary whips up a vicious tornado to tear at the opposing Pokémon. This move also has a 20% chance of causing them to flinch.
  • Esper Wing: Hisuian Braviary's signature move. Hisuian Braviary slashes the target with aura-enriched wings. This move also raises it's action speed. This move has a heightened chance of landing a critical hit
  • Roost: Hisuian Braviary lands and rests its body. This move restores it's HP by up to half of it's max HP
  • Double-Edge: Hisuian Braviary rushes the target with a reckless, life-risking tackle. Hisuian Braviary also sustains damage equal to 1/3 of the damage it dealt to the opponent in recoil
  • Hurricane: Hisuian Braviary attacks by wrapping its opponent in a fierce wind that flies up into the sky. This attack also has a 30% chance to confuse the target
    • Keen Eye: One of Braviary's possible special abilities. Braviary's keen eyes prevent other Pokémon from lowering it's accuracy
    • Sheer Force: The other of Braviary's possible special abilities. Any of Braviary's damaging moves that have any additional effects have their base power increased by 30%, but their additional effects are negated
    • Defiant: Braviary's hidden ability. When one of Braviary's stats are lowered by an opponent, its Attack is increased by 2 stages. If multiple stats are lowered, this ability activate for each stat lowered
