The Chaos Emeralds are a set of seven mystical gemstones that possess infinite power, it is the pursuit of said power by forces which intend use it for both good or ill will which has landed them in the centre of many conflicts which even threaten the existence of Sonic's universe.
Tens of thousands of years ago, the remnants of a long-lost civilisation known as the Ancients used the power of the Chaos Emeralds to flee the destruction of their home world by the entity known as the End, whilst in space, the Chaos Emeralds energy resonated with that of the Master Emerald, overriding the navigation systems of the Ancients' sending them and the Ancients to Earth.

Cyberspace is a referred to as a separate digital world by The End as well as a digital dimension by Dr. Eggman which can obtain external information/data from the universe and materialize it within itself. Tails surmised that Cyber Space stores information down to the very essence of the Ancients' beings including their hopes, dreams & memories and even their souls. When a being enters Cyber Space, their memories physically alter and change the realm depending upon their memories. The barrier surrounding the Starfall Islands was stated to defy the laws of the world, manifesting logical disparities down to the bottom of causality. When it used the Chaos Emeralds to fuse, Solaris was stated to be capable of destroying all of reality in all time periods. That would include Cyber Space by extension[1])
- Healing, Resurrection, Regeneration (Up to High-Godly - Concept, Type 2 Information, Plot/Text, Space-Time & History) & Purification (Types 1 & 2; Channeling Chaos Energy allows users to heal wounds. All of the Ancients' technology was based on the Chaos Emeralds, including the robots guarding the Starfall Islands which can reform themselves using the gravitational pull of meteors, allowing them to continue their duties forever. The Chaos Emeralds can be used to revive those who've died. Chaos 0 used the Emeralds to keep clear water around the Master Emerald altar. Super Sonic used the true power of the Chaos Emeralds to pacify Perfect Chaos from the fury and resentment it used to transform. Super Sonic purified Mother Wisp, returning her to normal after she was corrupted into a Nega-Wisp by having her energy drained. At their full power, the Super Sonics can use the Emeralds to undo the Time Eater's erasure of the cosmology)
