Chaos Energy is a powerful yet highly unstable source of energy which acts as the power system in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics.
All Chaos Energy originates from the Chaos Force, a higher-dimensional and transcendent realm which exists outside the space-time of infinite universes as well as other higher planes of existence, when one uses Chaos Energy, they are usually stated to "tap into the power of the Chaos Force". There are many ways to harness the power of the Chaos Force including the mastery of magic or using the physical embodiments of the Chaos Force, Chaos Emeralds and Power Rings, though a select few can naturally tap into its power. Many inhabitants all over Mobius can wield Chaos Energy regardless of their biology with both Mobians and Overlanders being able to tap into this power.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Conceptual Manipulation (Type 1): The various applications which come from wielding Chaos Energy are accomplished by tapping into the Chaos Force, the embodiment and source of Chaos Energy itself which acts the "all-encompassing energy of the universe". All Chaos Energy abilities, be it basic blasts and more advanced techniques, possess the capability to affect, manipulate, reshape and destroy the concepts that govern reality such as when Super Sonic erased both the Chaos Force & Maginaryworld, a conceptual realm which acts as the source of all dreams in all dimensions, from existence. Mammoth Mogul was able to assume complete command of the Chaos Force after taking Chaos Knuckles' power.
- Magic: All Chaos Energy is magical in nature, with the Chaos Emeralds containing limitless, magical energy.
All Chaos Energy may stem from the Chaos Force, though its uses branch of into different pathways with their own unique techniques/abilities
- Elemental Manipulation: The Ixis Magicks are magical abilities developed by Mammoth Mogul over the course of hundreds of years. The core abilities granted by the Ixis Magicks revolves around the manipulation of the natural elements of Mobius including the "fifth element", the mythical Powers Rings.
- Technology Manipulation & Nanotechnology: Magitek, also known as Technomagic, is a forbidden branch of magic which is described as a corruption of the Ixis Magicks which allow user to manipulate electrical impulses and signals, essentially granting them dominion over all machines, electronics, digital realms/beings as well as nanites.
- Reality Warping: One of the more common applications of Chaos Energy is its ability to bend and rewrite reality on various levels, with more Chaos Energy granting the wielder greater dominion over reality. This is the most well-known branch of Chaos Energy, and is widely utilized from things such as the Power Rings to the Chaos Emeralds.
- Matter Manipulation (Atomic) and Transmutation: Crystalline Magic is an ability developed by Mammoth Mogul which can generate crystals from the ground which & turn living and non-living material into a green crystal on the atomic level. This is especially effective against cybernetics and robotic adversaries.
The general applications of Chaos Energy including:
- Power Bestowal: Chaos Energy can grant its users a variety of abilities, from enhanced strength and speed to powerful magical talents and immortality, and can provide as an energy source to various machinery. Chaos Energy does not react to everyone to the same extent and extensive training is required to establish a link to the Force for those lacking an innate affinity for its power. Super Sonic was able to pass his energy onto Shadow and Silver, enabling them to enter their own Super Forms. Mammoth Mogul granted Mighty and Mina Mongoose their super strength and speed respectively.
- Longevity: Those with a connection with a Chaos Emerald will possess a longer lifespan.
- Immortality (Types 1, 3 and 8): Those who have a Chaos Emerald embedded within themselves will be granted immortality and will be able to regenerate their wounds so long as they possess a source of Chaos Energy.
- Regeneration (Mid-Low, up to Low-Godly): With enough Chaos Energy, users can quickly regenerate wounds and with enough willpower and Chaos Energy equivalent to multiple Power Rings, can regenerate their physical body from their life essence, though a lack of Chaos Energy will prevent them from regenerating.
- Empowerment: Chaos Energy is strengthened by the user's emotions and will.
- Non-Physical Interaction: Chaos Energy allows its users to interact a multitude of phenomena which is non-physical in nature.
- Type 1 Concept: Chaos Energy can interact with the concepts which make up reality with the Super Genesis Wave & Super Sonic's distorted Chaos Control completely destroying both the Chaos Force & Maginaryworld.
- Souls/Spirits/Minds: Chaos Energy can interact with the ethereal essence of individuals as well as destroy higher spiritual planes of existence such as the Next Evolution. Dark Enerjak can physically rip the souls out a person's body, leaving them as lifeless husks. Super States can attack and eventually destroy Solaris' consciousness.
- Nonexistence - Enhanced Nature Types 1 & 3, Beyond-Dimensional Existence Type 1 & Void: Chaos Energy can affect the entirety of the infinite multiverse, which would include White Space, an infinite void of nonexistence which exists between all realities where time doesn't exist, as well as the Chaos Force, which embodies all reality, including the realms of existence & nonexistence.
- Incorporeality: Chaos Energy can affect the entirety of the infinite multiverse, which would include all those that have transcended their corporeal shells including the Chaos Force deities & Next Evolution inhabitants.
- Intangibility (Elemental - Light, Smoke, Darkness, Fire, Air, Earth & Water): Super States can interact with Solaris, whose body is made of light. Chaos can also interact with Ixis Wizards who can transform their bodies into smoke, darkness, air, fire, earth & water.
- Space-Time, History, Causality & Fate: Chaos Energy has on numerous occasions been shown to interact with and rearrange the fabric of space-time, causality & history with the Genesis Waves rewriting both Sonic and Megaman's realities, changing the past, present and even future. The Super Genesis Wave altered space-time on a multiversal scale, affecting all past, present & future.
- Laws: The energy of a single Chaos Emerald when harnessed can rewrites the rules of the universe as well as bend/cheat them. With the full might of the 7 Chaos Emeralds allowing the wielder to create a Super Genesis Wave which can rewrite reality with no limits.
- Data & Type 2 Information: (Chaos Energy can affect the entirety of the infinite multiverse, which would include NICOLE's Digital Realms and Information Super Highway which are made entirely of data with beings originating from them being able to affect those in the real world. The information/data within these realms is abstract to the point that it takes the form of whatever Digitized beings perceive it to be with these virtual realities such as Robotnik's implied to be physical, with Sonic while in them being able to make "everything" happen due to it being a "User-friendly world of Virtual Reality", being able to hack Robotnik's distant technology from inside it.
- Dreams & Nightmares (The Super Genesis Wave erased Maginaryworld, an entire multiverse made from the dreams of those in other dimensions, with dreams being both positive & negative.
- Abstracts - Type 1 Concept, Dreams & Emotions: Chaos Energy can interact with & destroy abstract entities such as when Mammoth Mogul with the last remnants of his power, wounded the Ancient Walkers, who are conceptual beings as well as the Super Genesis Wave erasing Maginaryworld & Illumina, who embodies both the positive & negative aspects of dreams as well as the emotions needed for them to exist.
- Type 1 Nonduality Chaos Energy erased both Maginaryworld & Illumina, who herself is a being unbound by the dualities within dreams.
Applications and abilities which stem from the finite, but "near limitless" energy of Power Rings:
- Statistics Amplification: Power Rings can enhance the user's strength, with Rings providing a greater increase in strength.
- Stamina Recovery: Power Rings can be absorbed to regain stamina
- Wish Granting: Due to Power Rings being natural by-products of the magic from the Chaos Emeralds, the rings inherit much of the reality-bending nature offered by the Chaos Emeralds themselves. Yet, despite each Power Ring being a near-limitless power source, they still pale in comparison to that of the Chaos Emeralds themselves. As such, they are far more limited by comparison but potentially just as effective if used in the right hands.
- Age Manipulation: Amy Rose used the Ring of Acorns to physically age herself by several years.
- Dimensional BFR: Power Rings can be used to send the target anywhere the wielder wishes.
- Clairvoyance: Power Rings are shown to bestow knowledge, though this is shown to cause discomfort.
- Healing and Resurrection: Power Rings can be used to resurrect the dead, such as when under a time of great stress, Sonic revived his father through the use of a Power Ring.
- Telekinesis: Users can wish for items to be telekinetically moved.
- Creation: Can be used to wish for items like Amy's Piko Piko Hammer.
- Cloth Manipulation (Besides aging her up, Ring of Acorns also transformed Amy's clothes)

- Acausality (Type 1): Skilled Chaos Energy users are immune to time paradoxes, shown with King Shadow being aware of the altered history of Light Mobius.
- Air Manipulation: Those who've mastered Chaos Energy can control the air itself, being able to create devastating whirlwinds.
- Duplication: Mammoth Mogul used Chaos Energy in order to create a duplicate of Turbo Tails, Sonic accidentally created a separate version of Super Sonic with the Red Chaos Emeralds on Thoraxia
- Electricity Manipulation: Through the Thunder Arrow, which discharges bolts of lightning to electrocute opponents.
- Energy Manipulation: Chaos Energy is a highly potent and powerful energy and the greatest power in existence. It can be used for a variety of applications, from supercharging machinery to reshaping reality itself. When harnessed by living beings, it can exponentially augment their abilities and grant access to incredible Chaos Powers. Raw Chaos energy in its purest form appears to have a yellow-green color, though it can come in various colors depending on the user and the technique being used.
- Energy Projection: The most common form of offense by Chaos Force users, Chaos energy can be cast from the body in a variety of techniques including destructive beams, energy spheres, energy waves, widespread barrage of energy attacks or huge explosions. Chaos energy blasts can be cataclysmic, being capable of destroying celestial bodies, entire space-time continuums and abstract entities.
- Forcefield Creation and Danmaku: Skilled Chaos Energy users can create forcefields for self-defence, trapping others and allows for simultaneous offense and defense
- Flight: Flight can be achieved by skilled Chaos Energy users by channeling Chaos Energy
- Heat Manipulation: Chaos Energy can create enough heat to burn a Dark Legionnaire.
- Pain Manipulation: Chaos Energy users can inflict great pain onto their opponents.
- Telekinesis and Paralysis Inducement: Skilled Chaos Force users are able to levitate objects and people using only their minds and even before launch across great distances, this can also be used on opponents to freeze them in place.
- Weapon Creation: Skilled Chaos Energy users can create weapons including spears of hammers which are comprised of Chaos Energy
- Enhanced Creation: Can create entire Zones, Dr. Eggman and Wily created the Skull Egg Zone with a Chaos Emerald.
- Gravity Manipulation: The infinite energy of a Chaos Emerald can be use to negate the forces of gravity on an object
- Illusion Creation: Illusions can be created using Chaos Energy as shown with Mammoth Mogul disguising the Fearsome Foursome as members of the Freedom Fighters.
- Mind Manipulation: Extremely powerful Chaos Force wielders are capable of mind control, as shown when Enerjak took control of the Chaotix & Mammoth Mogul controlled mind control Mighty, Tails and Mina Mongoose, using them to fight Sonic as well as talk to him through them.
- Memory Manipulation: Skilled Chaos Energy users can erase and rewrite memories, with Eggman allowing those affected by the Genesis Wave to remember what he wanted them to remember.
- Statistics Amplification: Harnessing Chaos Energy can exponentially increase the abilities of the user, with Mammoth Mogul stating a single Chaos Emerald would increase his power a thousandfold.[1] Absorbing enough Chaos Energy will result in a godlike, nigh-invulnerable state of unlimited power.
- Technology Manipulation: With one Emerald users can disable technology. Locke was capable of disabling the blasters of a group of Dark Legionnaires[2], Enerjak could reprogram the Mecha-Nauts, bending them to his will.
Applications of Chaos Energy which require the use of all 7 Chaos Emeralds, a Super State or a higher transformation, allowing the use of all previous applications of Chaos Energy including:
- Acausality (Higher Degree of Type 4 - Causality, Fate, Time & Law): Super forms have shown to be unaffected by beings or phenomena that can affect the past, present and future such as Solaris or the Super Genesis Wave, with both Waves being able to affect Silver, who is decoupled from the flow of time.
- Enhanced Air Manipulation: The ability to manipulate air is further advanced at the Super State level such as when Enerjak created an air pocket for Knuckles whilst they were on the moon or made Knuckles stop breathing entirely.
- Aura: Those who have transformed into a Super or equivalent state can envelop themselves with Aura which allows them to barge through obstacles, opponents and attacks with no harm to themselves.
- Biological Manipulation: Enerjak was able to remove the Dark Legion's cybernetics, restoring their natural bodies.
- Enhanced Clairvoyance: A.D.A.M. by connecting with 7 Chaos Emeralds was able to know exact locations of each Chaos Emerald in the universe.
- Fusionism: Feist fused an innumerable amount of Chaos Emeralds which existed throughout the universe into a single set of seven.
- Immortality Negation (Type 3) and Regeneration Negation (Low-Godly, possibly High-Godly - History): The full power of the Chaos Emeralds allows a Super State to bypass Solaris' regeneration, decapitating the light god, even after Solaris reformed itself, the damage is still maintained. Was stated by Ian Flynn that Knuckles Enerjak could've "atomized" Super Sonic despite Super States possessing unfathomably more Chaos Energy than what is needed to regenerate their physical body from their life essence. With the Super Genesis Wave confirmed to have destroyed the entire multiverse, this would include Mephiles who somehow came back even after being erased from history by Elise snuffing out the original flame[3]
- Intangibility: Super Forms can render themselves intangible, allowing them to phase through solid matter.
- Invulnerability: Super forms are stated many times to be invulnerable, being unaffected by conventional harm even from comparable entities, such as the Egg-Wily Machine X being unable to harm Super Sonic or Super Amour Mega Man despite sharing a power source, A.D.A.M believed that Super Sonic could not harm him and a weakened Enerjak being unable to harm Super Sonic even admitting that he can't destroy him, though they can still be knocked back.
- Light Manipulation: Super States are capable of absorbing light to enhance their strength as well as use light-based attacks with Sonic using the Arrow of Light, Shadow using the Spear of Light and Silver using the Shield of Light.
- Extra Statistics Amplification: Super Sonic can absorb light to amplify hiss attack power & use the Arrow of Light, cracking Solaris' armour which remains unaffected by Super Sonic's regular attacks.
- Attack Reflection, Extra Sealing and Forcefield Creation: With the Shield of Light, Super Silver creates a light barrier which catches projectiles and launches them back at the attacker. The Shield of Light can also trap opponents.
- Homing Attack: The Spear of Light used by Shadow fires off numerous projectiles which are to home in on Solaris.
- Enhanced Power Nullification: Due to being empowered by hundreds of Chaos Emeralds, Feist was able to disable Shadow's affinity for Chaos Energy, thus nullifying his ability to harness Chaos Energy and use Chaos Control despite there being an abundance of it to tap into. Using the last of his powers, Chaos Knuckles was able to nullify the Quantum Wave of the Quantum Dial.
- Possession: Skilled users of the Chaos Force are able to take control of other beings and can act/speak in their stead without any indication of such a thing happening.
- Radiation Manipulation: Through Chaos Energy, Knuckles produces deadly radiation which was able to completely make a Dark Legion facility uninhabited.
- Vastly Enhanced Reality Warping and Subjective Reality: With enough Chaos Energy, users can remake reality in accordance to their thoughts. With enough Chaos Energy, users have been referred to both as "omnipotent" and being able to do anything. Chaos Control allows users to alter the fabric of reality with Sonic referring to Chaos Control as a more direct version of 'dreams into reality" with its effects being immensely amplified when used with the full power of the 7 Chaos Emeralds, being rewrite the multiverse with no limits.
- Causality Manipulation and Fate Manipulation: (With enough Chaos Energy, users are capable of rearranging the fabric of space-time, rewriting history itself as well as altering the present & future with the Super Genesis Wave rewriting the past, present & future of the infinite multiverse. Super States are also capable of hitting opponents time as showcased by Super Sonic, Shadow & Silver in their fight against Solaris. The Genesis Waves and the Super Genesis Wave were even able to affect Silver, who is decoupled from the flow of time.
- Creation: Skilled Chaos Force users can use their authority over reality to create structures out of nothing, with Mammoth Mogul stating his Super Form possessed the power to create entire universes.
- Data Manipulation & Information Manipulation (Type 2): A Super-Charged Chaos Control & the Super Genesis Wave erased Digital Realms, which would include NICOLE's Digital Realms and Information Super Highway which are made entirely of data with beings originating from them being able to affect those in the real world. The information/data within these realms is abstract to the point that it takes the form of whatever Digitized beings perceive it to be with these virtual realities such as Robotnik's implied to be physical with these virtual realities such as Robotnik's implied to be physical, with Sonic while in them being able to make "everything" happen due to it being a "User-friendly world of Virtual Reality", being able to hack Robotnik's distant technology from inside it.
- Dream Manipulation & Empathic Manipulation: The Super Genesis Wave and Super Sonic's distorted Chaos Control affected and erased Maginaryworld respectively, a multiverse which is made up entirely of the dreams of those in other dimensions. Some dreams exist as negative emotions and darkness born from the heart.
- Existence Erasure (History, Space-Time, Type 1 Concept, Data & Type 2 Information): The full might of the 7 Chaos Emeralds allows the wielder to completely erase their enemies from all reality just as Dr. Wily & Dr. Eggman were planning to do to Sonic and Megaman. The level of erasure can extend up to the entire multiverse across past, present & future[4], making it so it never existed. Super Sonic's Warped Chaos Control erased the entirety of the Pre-Genesis Multiverse, including concepts such as the Chaos Force, the embodiment & source of Chaos Energy & Maginaryworld, a conceptual realm which houses an infinite number of dream worlds as well as the Digital Realms constructed by NICOLE & Information Super Highway. The Ancient Walkers and Aurora attempted to completely destroy Enerjak but failed due to his immense power.
- Nonexistent Erasure (Enhanced Nature Types 1 & 3; Aspect Types 2, 4 & 5 - Concept, Information, Data, Dreams, Space-Time & History): The full set of 7 Chaos Emeralds can complete erase the entirety of existence with this extending to White Space, a realm between dimensions which is absent of time & where time does not exist, predating the Time Eater reducing reality to a white void as shown that things become a part of White Space when their time is erased. The erasure of reality was performed by Eggman to undo his previous defeats, even extending to nonexistent timelines such as Stardust Speedway's bad future & Silver's original future, a "timeline that never was". Due to the cosmological scale of the Time Eater's erasure, White Space would lack the fundamental aspects which allows realities such as Maginaryworld, NICOLE's Digital Realms & Information Super Highway to exist. The Chaos Force was erased by Super Sonic's Warped Chaos Control, which embodies all reality, including the realms of existence & nonexistence.
- Higher-Dimensional Manipulation: Chaos Energy users can affect and destroy higher-dimensional beings and spaces, such as Mammoth Mogul mortally wounding the Ancient Walkers & Sonic's Chaos Control destroying the totality of existence including the Chaos Force as well as Maginaryworlds's 4th-Dimension Space & extra-dimensional worlds.
- Law Manipulation: Chaos Energy can cheat & rewrite the rules of reality. Such as when a single Chaos Emerald which created a zone where hours inside the zone equated to seconds in normal space-time. This would also include the very principles which the Arabian Nights reality functions on.
- Matter Manipulation and Deconstruction: Super States can control the particles which make up matter take opponents apart on the molecular level and reassembling them, rewrite the molecular foundations of all beings in reality as well as alter atomic structures by manipulating the bonds between atoms.
- Pocket Reality Manipulation: Chaos Energy users can create pocket dimensions such as the Skull Egg Zone. Feist was able to reshape the Zone of Silence, creating the Special Zone which he has complete control over.
- Quantum Manipulation: With enough Chaos Energy, reality can be rewritten on a quantum level with Dr. Eggman theorizing Sonic's inability to lose was a result of a hiccup on a quantum level, the quantum variant which disrupts even the soundest of plans, leading him to rewrite reality in an attempt to get rid of it.
- Resistance Negation: By rewriting the laws that govern reality, Chaos Force wielders can remove resistances like when Eggman activated the Genesis Wave, removing everyone's resistance to Roboticization.,
- Enhanced Restoration (Immaterial, Metaphysical & Temporal): The Chaos Emeralds were used to restore reality as a whole to its state prior to the Time Eater's havoc, undoing the damage across all of space-time. Super Sonic was able to replicate the Genesis Wave, bringing back reality to how it was before
- Soul Manipulation and Life Manipulation: Chaos Force wielders can erase souls and astral planes with Super Sonic erasing the Next Evolution, a higher plane of reality containing the souls of the Brotherhood of Guardians. They can also be extracted from an individual's body, leaving them as shriveled, lifeless husks.
- Void Manipulation: With the Super Genesis Wave and Super Sonic's distorted Chaos Control confirmed to have rewritten/destroyed the entire multiverse[5] and the events of Sonic Generations occurring within the Archie continuity, this would include White Space, an empty and infinitely sized void of nonexistence between dimensions.
- Self-Sustenance: (Types 1 and 3): Super Forms are shown to have no need for oxygen. The Super State is granted direct access to an infinite amount off energy by the Chaos Emeralds and shown with Super Sonic being able to Enerjak from day to night with no signs of fatigue.
- Size Manipulation: Chaos Force wielders possess the ability to alter their size
- Spaceflight: The most common ability showcased by Super Forms is the ability to fly freely, even within the far reaches of outer space.
- Probability Manipulation and Curse Manipulation: Chaos Energy users can place curses to ensure the targets always fail in their future endeavors.
- Space-Time Manipulation: Chaos Force users can use Chaos Control to control the fabric of space-time, with the amount of Chaos Energy involved determining the extent of control with the full might of the 7 Chaos Emeralds being able to warp space and time on a multiversal scale to the user's will.
- BFR: Chaos Control allows the user to banish targets to far away places and even to closed off dimensions without going with them.
- Dimensional Travel: Even a single Chaos Emerald allows the user to warp across the space-time of infinite universes.
- Portal Creation: Chaos control allows the user to create portals to different locations, Eggman and Wily were able to create inter-dimensional portals to arrive in the Skull Egg Zone.
- Teleportation: By invoking Chaos Control, individuals can warp across vast distances instantly and do the same to objects as large as the Space Colony ARK, its use also disrupts the space-time continuum, reverting the causality-warping effects of the Genesis Wave to an extent that restored old memories.
- Time Acceleration: Ultra Sonic was able to speed up the flow of time.
- Time Reversal: Chaos Control can used to rewind time, with Sonic using it to restore the universe and rewind time by ten seconds to prevent Sally's death.
- Time Stop: Chaos control can freeze opponents in time, as displayed by Lara-Su immobilizing the despotic King Shadow for five years. Chaos Control works on Sonic, who was unaffected by being in a way of Time-Immobilizer, which Robotnik stated would freeze anyone in the beam's path, freezing entire Knothole.
- Time Travel: Chaos Control enables the user to travel to different time periods, it can even pull individuals from different time periods.
- Telepathy: Chaos Force wielders are capable of communicating through the minds of others.
As mentioned previously, the Ixis Magicks are a branch of Chaos Energy created by Mammoth Mogul which require extensive tutelage or knowledge to wield, granting their wielders the following abilities:
- Elemental Manipulation The Ixis Magicks are magical techniques created by Mammoth Mogul which grant the user control over the elements of Mobius which include:
- Further Air Manipulation: Ixis Wizards can create vortexes of wind to knock opponents of their feet or create vacuums.
- Darkness Manipulation: By using the technique known as Shadow-melding, Ixis Wizards can travel through shadows and appear wherever they wish.
- Fire Manipulation: Ixis Wizards can wield the element of fire to create scorching fire blasts or combust the air around opponents.
- Earth Manipulation: The Ixis Magicks grant command over the earth itself. Users can form granite walls for defence or create and close passageways.
- Ice Manipulation: The Ixis Magicks allow control ice, being used to flash freeze foes.
- Smoke Manipulation & Intangibility (Elemental): Ixis Wizards have showcased the ability to transform into a smoke-like substance allows them to become intangible as well as turn their bodies into scorching flames. Ixis mentioned that with a mere gesture, his entire body could turn into earth, wind & water.
- Regeneration: (Mid-High): Ixis wizards can reform themselves after they have been dispersed as smoke.
- Water Manipulation: Ixis Wizards can manipulate the element of water for both offensive and defensive applications.
- Weather Manipulation: Even the weather is at the command of Ixis Wizard. which can be used to summon thick and powerful hailstorms which cause whiteouts.

Chaos Force deities are individuals who have ascended to the Chaos Force, a realm outside of space and time, becoming Chaos Energy itself. Due to this state of being they have the greatest connection to the Chaos Force, possessing immense power as a result:
- Abstract Existence (Type 1 - Concept Type 1) and Incorporeality: (Becoming one with the Chaos Force means that one becomes Chaos Energy itself. It is described as transcending your "corporeal shell", with those existing within the Chaos Force being perceived differently depending on the observer, seeing what they imagine them to be. The "corporeal world" and the Chaos Force being differentiated within the Sonic Comic Encyclopaedia.
- Immortality (Types 1, 3, 5, 6, 8 & 9): Those who have become one with the Chaos Force are unbound by conventional life & death, with the goddess Aurora lamenting the finite lifespans of normal Mobians in contrast to those one with the Chaos Force such as herself, stated to be long detached from mortal life. Chaos Force deities can possess others to create avatars that act on their will whose death won't effect them as their true forms exist within the Chaos Force.
- Avatar Creation and Astral Projection: Chaos Force gods are capable of either avatars or utilizing astral projections to interact with the physical world.
- Self-Sustenance (Types 1, 2 and 3): Due to having no physical body, Chaos Force deities have no need to eat, sleep, breathe or experience fatigue. Due to becoming Chaos Energy itself they should possess infinite energy.
- Cosmic Awareness: Those who exist within the Chaos Force are capable to perceiving events on a cosmological scale being stated to unlock the "secrets of the universe.
- Higher-Dimensional Existence, Omnipresence and Large Size (Type 10 - 11-D): The Chaos Force is the "all encompassing energy of the universe" with Aurora describing herself as the force, and the force being all, transcending the space-time of infinite universes and the lower planes of existence in its totality.
- Nonexistent Physiology (Enhanced Nature Types 1 & 3; Aspect Types 2, 4 & 5. Concept, Information, Data, Dreams, Space-Time & History), Beyond-Dimensional Existence (Type 1) & Nonduality (Type 1): The Chaos Force embodies and is stated to be everything within the lower planes of reality, encompassing all conventional existence including the multiverse & nonexistence such as White Space, an infinite void of nonexistence which exists between all dimensions which is both atemporal and aspatial in nature, as well as the nondual nature of dreams and nightmares which Illumina embodies.

Resistances granted by the near-limitless energy of Power Rings:
- Corruption (Type 2) and Technology Manipulation: Monkey Khan could only be corrupted by the Iron Queen's Magitek after the Power Ring he wore for protect was taken out of his possession.
- Magic: Khan was granted protection from the Iron Queen's Magitek by his Power Ring Crown.
- Mind Manipulation: The energy of Power Rings are shown to be able to restore an individual's free will from the effects of Roboticization, Monkey Khan's Power Ring grants him protection from mind control.
- Soul Manipulation: The energy of Power Rings prevented Mammoth Mogul's spirit from dissipating into the "immaterial"
- Status Effect Inducement and Statistics Reduction: The energy of 3 Power Rings was able to dispel the anti-inertia field that covered Sonic, which made Sonic lose his speed as a result.
Resistances granted by the infinite energy of a Chaos Emerald or equivalent amount of Power Rings:
- Biological Manipulation, Enhanced Matter Manipulation (Atomic), Transmutation, Nanotechnology & Technopathy: Chaos Energy can block/revert transmutations with the Power Ring Matrix built into the Death Egg rendering it immune to Ixis Naugus's Crystallization magic powered by a Post-Harmony Chaos Emerald. The same magic that had previously killed Nicole's nanites for good. A Chaos Emerald would revert Bunnie Rabbot's Roboticized limbs back to flesh and blood and fix Ixis Naugus mutations.
- Extrasensory Perception: Sonic, Knuckles & Tails used an abundance of Power Rings to bypass Mammoth Mogul's visualization of reality.
- Life Force Absorption, Poison Manipulation, Mind Manipulation, Power Absorption, Energy Absorption, Soul Manipulation, Madness Manipulation and Memory Manipulation: Sufficient amounts of Chaos Energy will allow the user to resist the effects of the Egg Grapes, which fills their victims with toxins, erases the mind, absorbs their energy/life-force and eventually erases the soul. Even brief exposure can have lasting consequences, such as Ixis Naugus going insane & Charmy's severe dip in his mental capabilities.
- Power Nullification: A single Chaos Emerald can restore an individual's ability to use Chaos energy after it has been disabled as shown when Shadow merely touching the red Chaos Emerald overcame Feist's nullification which disabled Shadow's ability to tap into the Chaos Force despite the abundance of Chaos Energy in the Special Zone.
Resistances granted by a Super State or higher equivalent:
- Vastly Enhanced Reality Warping, Conceptual Manipulation (Type 1), Space-Time Manipulation, Existence Erasure (History, Space-Time, Type 1 Concept, Type 2 Information & Data), Nonexistent Erasure (Enhanced Nature Types 1 & 3; Aspect Types 2, 4 & 5. Concept, Information, Data, Dreams, Space-Time & History), Soul Erasure, Void Manipulation, Matter Manipulation, Quantum Manipulation, Law Manipulation, Resistance Negation, Subjective Reality, Data Manipulation, Information Manipulation (Type 2), Causality Manipulation, Fate Manipulation, Empathic Manipulation & Dream Manipulation: Super Amour Mega Man & Super Sonic were completely unaffected by the Super Genesis Wave being fired, which destroyed the entire multiverse past, present and future with[6] the intent to erase them from all reality. The Super Genesis Wave effects are unfathomably more potent than the previous Genesis Waves due to using all 7 Chaos Emeralds, being able to rewrite reality with "no limits".
- Electricity Manipulation: Super Sonic was unaffected by Enerjak's "Thunder Arrow" technique.
- Black Hole Creation, Death Manipulation, Gravity Manipulation, Absorption and BFR: Super States are unaffected by the Eyes of Solaris, which are black holes which consume all of space-time, kill anyone that touches them as well as emit a gravitational pull, absorbing anything in its vicinity, sending it to another dimension[7].
- Vastly Enhanced Magic & potentially all of Enerjak's Abilities: Super Sonic was able to resist the Chaos Magic of Enerjak, remarking that all his magic did was annoy him. Despite his wide array of abilities, Enerjak admitted to be incapable of destroying Super Sonic with Knuckles Enerjak noting that he couldn't destroy himself.
- Information Analysis: NICOLE gravely underestimated the threat Enerjak posed despite being able to analyze cross-dimensional magic from another multiverse and the destruction of the infinite multiverse.
- Paralysis Inducement: Super Scourge effortlessly broke out of Silver's psychokinesis.
- Time Manipulation and Age Manipulation: Sonic tanked the Time Beam, which forces time to flow backwards.
Range and Potency[]
Chaos Energy is the all-encompassing energy of the universe, with the individuals and technologies able to harness this power being able to rewrite, recreate and outright destroy Sonic's multiverse and others beyond it. With the 7 Chaos Emeralds, the Wily Egg was able to unleash a Super Genesis which rewrote both Megaman's and Sonic multiverses, Sonic in an attempt to restore everything accidentally destroyed and recreated his entire multiverse including the Chaos Force itself. Thus, we can determine that the maximum range of Chaos Energy is on a High Complex Multiverse level (High 1-C) level.
As Chaos Energy is a Universal Energy System, the abilities and resistances they provide become more potent/layered when more Chaos Energy is added to them as seen with Mammoth Mogul, who was imprisoned within New Mobotropolis in a cell which resisted his Magicks but was completely shattered when Mogul was granted the power of the Grey Chaos Emerald. A single Power Ring can block out The Iron Queen's mind control/technomagic, but 2 Power Rings boosting the Iron Queen's magic can overcome the defences of 1 Power Ring. We know that the amount of Power Rings needed to nearly overcome a Chaos Emerald is the 51 Rings which cover the Death Egg. This is further boosted to an unfathomable level with the commencement of the Great Harmony where every Chaos Emerald in the universe was gathered, sealed into the Zone of Silence and eventually reshaped into an even greater set of seven by Feist, of which there were at bare minimum hundreds of thousands of them in the galaxy alone.
