Cid Kagenou is the protagonist of the isekai web novel, light novel, manga, and anime The Eminence In The Shadow. Cid always had a fixation with becoming a dark knight, a warrior who fought in the shadows yet still had an overwhelming presence that struck fear to the public. In order to achieve such a thing he trained his body to the peak of human physicality, being as strong as the strongest human and as fast as the fastest human alive. However, he knew his human body had a limit, what could he do if multiple armed men had their guns pointed at him? Even if he did manage to win in that situation, he wouldn't be able to survive an atomic bomb being dropped on him. Human weakness and limits made him crazy, he wanted more power, magic, to the point he'd bash his head on a rock screaming the word magic out loud, and without a second thought, he rushed to the road where he was run over by a truck and killed.
Cid was reborn in a world with magic, yet he kept his memories and experiences of martial arts, fencing, and sword mastery from his previous life.
