Summary[]
Darkseid, once known as Uxas, is the lord of Apokolips, an extradimensional planet home to the race of the New Gods. Darkseid's goals are to conquer the entire multiverse and have complete dominion over every lifeform in existence.
Thousands of years ago, Uxas came to the DCEU-universe Earth, alongside his armada, with one goal in mind : laying hands on a hidden power, located within planet Earth itself : the Anti-Life Equation, a transcendental mathematical formula that grants his user control over the will of every being there is. After a great battle against the alliance of Earth's defender, during which he battled the likes of King Atlan and Zeus, and slaughtered the Green Lantern Yalan Gur, Uxas was ultimately defeated by an axe blow from Ares, who nearly killed him, and made him retreat to Apokolips before he could destroy the world thanks to the mother boxes.
Throughout the years, Darkseid turned over a hundred thousand worlds to dust in order to find those who had defeated him and finally obtain Anti Life. Now much stronger, and having regained the throne of Apokolips he had lost after his old battle, Darkseid became a multiversal conqueror.
His quest for assimilation and domination brought him to Earth-167, also known as the Smallville Earth, where an avatar of his went on to possess the likes of Gordon Godfrey and Lionel Luthor. Darkseid attempted to crash a replica of his home planet into Earth in order to rule this universe, but was ultimately defeated by this world's Superman who flew through his avatar and repelled the extradimensional planet back into the stars.
Months later, during the Monitors' attack on the multiverse, the same Superman came face to face with Darkseid's true physical self in another parallel universe, where the later managed to kill this world's Superman and to obliterate Earth with Apokolips. Darkseid's plans to rule creation were again met with defeat because of the Monitors, despite Darkseid slaying an entire army of them. He and Superman made a deal. Darkseid helped Superman break into one of the Monitors ship. In exchange, Clark gave the dark lord the Crystal of Knowledge so Darkseid could rebuild a realm in this universe.
Darkseid was seen again when his general Steppenwolf invaded one of the infinite Earths, only to find out he had discovered the lost planet that fought back, the one where Anti Life resided. Darkseid promised Steppenwolf redemption if he managed to conquer this world with the mother boxes, so his master could finally grasp the ultimate weapons he sought. Steppenwolf was ultimately defeated by the Justice League, but Darkseid, determined to locate and obtain Anti Life, prepared his armada to go meet the heroes who resisted him again.
In a near future, we learn that Darkseid ultimately succeeded, killed Aquaman and Wonder Woman, obtained Anti-Life, broke Earth-DCEU Superman's will with it by killing Lois Lane, and made him his right-handed man to rule over the planet.
