Character Stats and Profiles Wiki

In the past, we have encouraged users to create new pages for powers and abilities they thought the wiki lacked. However, as of now, we want new pages to be approved by the staff, meaning that new powers and abilities pages must be suggested. This can be done in our official Discord server in the suggestion channel, or messaged to a staff member. Of course, users can always create blogs about powers and abilities to include in their profiles if they don't want to attempt creating official pages. Linking to other wikis' powers and abilities pages is also permitted.

Summary[]

Darwin Raglan Caspian Ahab Poseidon Nicodemius Watterson Ⅲ is the deuteragonist of The Amazing World of Gumball, and is Gumball and Anais' adoptive sibling.

Powers and Stats[]

Tier: At least 6-C, higher with Vocal Scream and Ultimate Sneeze, potentially Low 2-C limited Environmental Destruction

Name: Darwin Raglan Caspian Ahab Poseidon Nicodemius Watterson Ⅲ

Origin: The Amazing World of Gumball

Gender: Male

Age: 10 years old

Classification: Anthropomorphic goldfish, part suckerfish

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Toon Force, Regeneration (Low-Godly; In The Secret, he and Darwin instantly reformed after being in a machine that reduced them to droplets. Spontaneously reshaped himself after being shattered to pieces in The Crew. Came back from blowing himself into dust particles in The Procrastinators. Eventually recreated his body after self-reducing into nonexistent by eating in the same episode), Underwater Breathing (Type 2. Although he is a fish, he can breathe on land perfectly fine), Basic Fighting Skills (During The Remote and The Parents, he showed competent basic fighting skills against Nicole while trying to snatch a TV remote from her or while trying to put sweets in her shopping cart, although Darwin is nowhere near as proficient as her. Darwin knows a basic pacifistic grappling technique, as shown during The Cage. During The Words, he was roughly comparable to Gumball in a Street Fighter -esque battle, although he quickly lost when Gumball not holding back), Weapon Mastery and Preparation (During The Faith, he defeated boyscouts armed with basic weapons with a bat), Supernatural Willpower (As seen during The Origins, he was able to develop the ability to survive on land, overcome starvation, and walk with legs, so he could return to Gumball because of their friendship bond[1]), Immortality (Type 1, 2, 3 His age has been reset by the universe on two occasions, Can survive without a heart, has frequently regenerated from fatal damage), Age Manipulation (Aged Gumball and himself into elders through incoherent chattering), Light Manipulation (Darwin's bishie sparkles are in-setting and can overwhelm Gumball), 4th Wall Awareness, Limited Plot Manipulation (Passive; As established during The Finale, the Watterson family canonically returns to the status quo in between almost every episode, preventing them from facing long-term consequences[2]), Preparation (Evolution - Trained Richard to go from being obese to muscular in a timeframe stated and shown to only be under one minute), Broadway Force, Imagination Manifestation (Fought Tobias with imaginary weapons. Created and drove an invisible car), Enhanced Senses (Knows how to use an invisible car), Mind Manipulation, Sleep Manipulation and Retrocognition (Was literally brainwashing Gumball and used the power of guilt to nearly make Gumball cave into his demands. Has also hypnotized and induced sleep while making him perceive his past lives by looking into his eyes), Shapeshifting (Partial change of appearance when Gumball and Darwin were looking like Richards for a few seconds ago in the "The Kids" episode and becoming temporary older in "The Finale" episode. Disguised as a school bell, and a fire extinguisher in The Stories), , Teleportation, Immersion, Fire Manipulation and Energy Manipulation (Can set objects aflamed if he gets annoyed enough. His energy attacks are fire-based), Magnetism Manipulation, Restoration and Healing (As a suckerfish partly, Darwin can restore objects into their intact state by sucking and soak them in his mouth. This can also be used for healing others), Fusionism (By merging with Gumball), Death Manipulation (With his glare), Sound Manipulation and Paralysis Inducement (Can raise his voice loud enough that it can damage ears, and it stunned Gumball and Anais so much that they couldn't move), Non-Physical Interaction (Could bring his soul back to his body), limited Reality Warping (The universe will reset itself in order to prevent Darwin from aging), Mind Manipulation and Memory Manipulation (With washing tools), Acausality (Type 1; during The Job, Darwin realized that time was rewinded by employed Richard; Tobias as the protagonist was able to make it so that the previous events of the episode The Test were all just a dream, still through his status as the protagonist that he achieved during those events, which Darwin was able to directly know about even while only being the deuteragonist[3]), Gumball's abilities: Biological Manipulation (Promoted his body to grow lungs and legs to adapt through his link with Gumball), Time Stop (Briefly paused time so he could finish reading off a card), Law Manipulation (Censored an episode to make anything unpleasant impossible by "turning on the child filter"), Flight, Perception Manipulation and Subjective Reality (Darwin's perception went along with Gumball's in the following scenarios: During The Others, Gumball was revealed to have been inadvertently entirely filtering out many students from his perception if they weren't in his class, which he can intentionally activate.[4] During The Vegging, he was able to ignore an alien apocalypse by waiting until his brain tunes it out, and simply waited for the problem to fix itself.[5] In the latter case, Gumball was able to even prevent himself from getting affected by the immediate threats of the alien apocalypse. After that, they accidentally summoned a Japanese character and a humanoid creature from horror movie later walked out of the TV, which is stated by himself to be a consequence of them tuning things out), Absorption and Information Analysis (Absorps knowledge of all kinds by chewing books). Unconventional Resistance to Soul Manipulation (Was fine when his soul left his body), Limited Resistance to Time Stop, Resistance to Age Manipulation (The universe has reset itself to prevent him from aging) and Empathic Manipulation (Broke through the effects of a love potion by his love for Carrie)

As a result of Darwin being the deuteragonist of The Amazing World of Gumball, which is a TV show in-setting in which being a primary character is a canonical in-setting detail, Darwin most likely somewhat scales to the protagonist status that Gumball has and the following abilities, albeit on an inferior scale due to not overriding Tobias Wilson usurping Gumball's position as the protagonist: Data Manipulation (The stability of reality in The Amazing World of Gumball depends on the budget of the Wattersons, the family that the show is centered around; the Wattersons becoming bankrupt meant Gumball's whole world deteriorating and falling apart, glitching and decreasing in production quality until it was becoming worse than a storyboard[6]), Breaking the Fourth Wall, Plot Manipulation and Enhanced Reality Warping (During The Test, when Gumball changed his personality so his classmates could like him more, Tobias changed the style of the show into a comically clichéd sitcom in accordance to the theory of nature abhors a vacuum, replacing Gumball as the star loser in the grand sitcom of their lives, and making the show centered around Tobias[3], therefore implying that these effects normally apply to Gumball when he's normally the protagonist), Empathic Manipulation (Tobias being the protagonist led to Masami and Penny accepting Tobias for dating[3], despite Tobias' personality not changing as the protagonist and Tobias having been rejected by those characters during other episodes[7][8]),, Causality Manipulation (As a result of the lazier writing of the show with Tobias as the main character, there were multiple continuity mistakes so the show could center around Tobias' antics[3]), Time Manipulation (Despite a school day not being finished, Tobias as the protagonist was able to skip to nighttime, and then to Christmas[3]), Acausality (Type 1; Tobias as the protagonist was able to make it so that the previous events of the episode The Test were all just a dream, still through his status as the protagonist that he achieved during those events[3])

Attack Potency: At least Island level with Preparation and Energy Manipulation (Able to consistently damage Gumball Watterson and once fought an armed scout with a bat. One of his sneezes was able to destroy many houses, casually generating this much energy. Another sneeze was able to send every object in town into the air), higher with Vocal Scream (Can raise his voice so loud that it turns into a scream which could make others explode, even on TV) and Ultimate Sneeze (Should be far stronger than his weaker sneezes, in which one could blast people to the other side of the Earth within no more than miliseconds), potentially Low Multiverse level limited Environmental Destruction (Darwin might have the potential to get the show canceled due to being the deuteragonist and sharing similarities with Gumball having a protagonist status, and getting the show canceled would mean Gumball's whole world deteriorating and falling apart on a metafictional scale[6], which would be contextually more consequential than Richard accidentally tearing apart the fabric of the universe[9])

Speed: Massively FTL+ (Has been shown to keep up with a casual Gumball and the rest of his family), higher reaction speed (Has consistently dodged Bobert's lasers, which moves faster than other characters can react)

Lifting Strength: At most Class G (Knocked down a stunned Richard with a kick. Could snatch and retain the remote from Nicole, albeit most of his efforts are from Gumball)

Striking Strength: Island level

Durability: At least Island level (Has survived the destruction of Elmore Junior High, tanked a giant paint explosion. Should be superior to Mrs. Robinson, who survived a massive oil explosion, and Banana Joe, who survived getting blown off to China by one of his sneezes. Took energy attacks from Gumball) to Multi-Continent level (Survived being crushed by Tina Rex)

Stamina: Varies, from Average to Superhuman

Range: Standard Melee Range, Multi-Universal using his deuteragonist abilities

Standard Equipment: None notable

Intelligence: Varies. Below Average normally, Gifted in his best showings

Darwin is the most childlike of the siblings, such as not knowing what a girlfriend was in The Pressure and expecting the best out of everybody, including people who clearly hate him (such as Mrs. Robinson). The only numbers Darwin knows are 2, 7 and 9. He is unable to go to the restroom without Gumball's help, can easily be manipulated due to his naivety, and according to himself, it took him five years to learn facial expressions. During The Goons, Gumball and Darwin treated themselves as experts at being dumb and were teaching Anais how to be dumb. During The Brain, a doctor said that Darwin has an underdeveloped brain. During The Flakers, Darwin demonstrated a lack of understanding of obvious sarcasm. During The Finale, when the consequences of previous episodes affected the Wattersons, Gumball and Darwin were put back in kindergarten because they didn't focus on their work. Darwin is poor at independently making decisions, as seen during The Decisions. Darwin is slow at comprehending ideas, as seen during The Oracle, and he lacks the ability to extrapolate, as seen during The Web.

Darwin is morally grounded and oftentimes more reasonable than Gumball, considering he usually tries to talk him out of his reckless decisions and often gives him advice. Has spoken fluent Mandarin Chinese in The DVD and The Others, and demonstrated being capable of speaking to non-anthropomorphic animals during The Question. When he and Gumball got jobs at Joyful Burger during The Menu, they worked their way up to become the CEOs of the entire company, sold their shares and retired as multi-billionaires - all in just a bit over one year. During The List, Gumball and Darwin were able to become millionaires and learn to speak Spanish in less than a day. During The Traitor he helped Gumball in performing a successful organ transplant between Alan and his mother despite their organs being invisible, and during The Schooling, he also temporarily worked as a surgeon. He is a talented ukulele player and once drew Gumball in perfect detail, although later episodes portray him as a terrible illustrator. There was one time that Darwin was able to outsmart Anais, during The Detective.

Weaknesses: Darwin is pacifistic and generally non-violent. He lacks combat experience and is very naive. Allergic to feathers. Has samhainophobia.
