Summary[]
Dragon Ball is an internationally popular media franchise. It consists primarily of a manga series created by Akira Toriyama, five anime series (Dragon Ball, Z, GT, Super and Heroes), twenty anime films, seven anime specials, three live-action films, five anime OVAs, four anime crossovers, two anime PSAs and a high-def remastered recut of Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball has an extensive online fanbase and is consistently one of the most frequently searched-for terms on Google, Yahoo! and Lycos. As of January 2012, generating $5 billion in merchandise, Dragon Ball is one of the most merchandisable anime based media franchises of all time.
The story and characters of Dragon Ball were partly inspired by the Chinese folk novel Journey to the West. The plot follows the adventures of lead character Son Goku (just simply known as Goku, originally under his Saiyan name Kakarot, and is based on the Monkey King of the folk legend, Sun Wukong) from his childhood through his adulthood. The story includes elements both of action and comedy, though the series became more action-oriented over time.

Powers of the Verse[]
Power[]
Dragon Ball[]
The Dragon Ball anime continuity is vastly more powerful than the manga it is based on, jumping from the regular Large Building level busters in the canon continuity to Town level. They later jump even more vastly in power later on, reaching Planet level due to Roshi's moon busting feat sending the debris of it flying at hypersonic speeds, and Planet level+ to Large Planet level by the Piccolo Daimaō Arc to the 23rd Budõkai, due to the later multipliers introduced.
Dragon Ball Z[]
Characters at the end of the Saiyan Arc already scaling to Large Star level via scaling to Vegeta's feat of destroying Arlia. High Universe level is reached at the end of the Frieza Arc due to Frieza's true form being stated to have the power to wipe out the entire universe, which is infinite. Low Multiverse level is achieved through the raw power of Goku's Super Saiyan 3 Transformation being sensed across the Kaioshin Realm, a different realm outside of the Living Universe and Other World. Multiverse level+ to possibly High Multiverse level+ s achieved through statements of Super Saiyan Gogeta unlocking infinite power that he could not have achieved without fusing and a enraged Buuhan's vice shout having the destructive capacity to crush alternate dimensions into one Universe.
Dragon Ball GT[]
Goku in the Baby Arc jumps to Outerverse level via destroying the Subspace, which is an aspatial and atemporal area that exists inbetween dimensions. The ability to cross the distance between two dimensions/timelines requires you to transcend space-time
