Character Stats and Profiles Wiki

In the past, we have encouraged users to create new pages for powers and abilities they thought the wiki lacked. However, as of now, we want new pages to be approved by the staff, meaning that new powers and abilities pages must be suggested. This can be done in our official Discord server in the suggestion channel, or messaged to a staff member. Of course, users can always create blogs about powers and abilities to include in their profiles if they don't want to attempt creating official pages. Linking to other wikis' powers and abilities pages is also permitted.

Deadpool breaking the fourth wall.

Summary

The term "the Fourth Wall" refers to the imaginary barrier between the audience of a work of fiction and the fictional universe itself. In most works of fiction, the fourth wall is intact, that is, the characters do not acknowledge the existence of an audience or that they themselves are part of a fictional work. However, some fictions employ the literary technique of Breaking the Fourth Wall.

In its most basic sense, breaking the fourth wall is the simple acknowledgement that a character resides inside a fictional setting, usually accomplished by speaking to a perceived audience, reader, player, etc. However, certain verses, especially those that are metafictional by approach, will often take it a step further by directly interacting with the medium that the story is being told in, such as the panels or speech bubbles of a comic book or the HUD of a video game. Certain fourth-wall breakers are known even to go as far as to manipulate the Plot of the story that they reside in, but this is considerably rare among fourth wall breakers.
