In life, Freddy Krueger was a sadistic monster of a man who tortured and killed children. Getting out of court on a technicality, he was killed by the parents of his former victims and burnt alive. However, he returns as a vengeful spirit in dreams after making a deal with the Dream Demons, seeking to exact revenge on the children of those who killed him . In exchange for power, he would kill the living in their dreams and the Dream Demons would channel their souls - and his first victims would be those who survived his rampages in the past.
Freddy possesses a range of supernatural powers, primarily within the dream world. These include the ability to shape-shift, manipulate dreamscapes, and control nightmares. He wields his signature weapon, a glove with razor-sharp blades, which he uses to terrorize and kill his victims. In dreams, he is nearly invulnerable, and if he kills someone in the dream, they die in reality.
