Summary[]
Frisk is the protagonist of Undertale and the eighth human to fall into the Underground. Virtually nothing is known about their life prior to their fall, as even their gender remains ambiguous. Being taken in by Toriel, they eventually decide to leave and explore the Underground to potentially return to the surface, eventually convincing their caretaker to let them go or forcing their way out by murdering her. From then on, Frisk manages to change the course of the events of the Underground forever, for better or worse.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: Varies with Determination and LV. At most 8-B with Minimal Determination, 8-B with Normal Determination, far higher with Great Determination, up to High 2-A with Peak Determination
Name: Frisk, "The Human", kid, Punk
Origin: Undertale
Gender: Unknown
Age: Initially Pre-Teen, somewhat older at the end of the game (They're surprised of not fitting in their bed)
Classification: Human Child, "The Angel" (Believed to be so, and is possibly one, despite there being other candidates for the title on each route)
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Likely Genius Intelligence
- Information Analysis (By using CHECK. Can figure out the stats of an opponent and even their emotional state in some cases just by looking at them)
- Weapon Mastery (Can use multiple items as efficient weapons, including unconventional ones such as ballet shoes, a notebook or a pan)
- Supernatural Willpower and Empowerment (Seemingly all humans can produce and take much larger amounts of DETERMINATION than monsters,[2] with DETERMINATION being the extreme strength of will to keep living.[3] Frisk is also implied to increase their statistics depending on how determined they feel per fight,[4] showcased from being able to keep up fights from weak monsters to Asriel Dreemurr in his strongest forms right because of this power,[5] similairly to how Undyne, thanks to her DETERMINATION,[6] was capable of transforming in her Undying form after getting "a burning feeling" despite feeling her body tearing apart from being fatally wounded[7])
- If they have control over the timeline, they get Time Manipulation and Immortality (Type 4, Type 2 after dying. With the SAVE System, Frisk can decide whether or not to return back to the world[8] through their SAVE point[8])
- Acausality (Type 1. Keeps their memories after turning back time by their own powers or that of others. Although with their "control over the timeline" matched, repeated deaths make their grip in the timeline slip away, which can eventually result in them forgetting everything experienced little by little[9])
- SOUL Absorption (Humans can absorb monster SOULs.[10] Stated by Asgore to have the power to take his SOUL,[11] although they need to kill him first)
- Self-Sustenance (Type 1; Can keep fighting even when the timeline is destroyed[12])
- Limited Invulnerability and SOUL Invulnerability (INV should grant this, although it should be noted that INV only lasts for a few seconds)
- Immortality (Types 1 and 7 for their SOUL; A human SOUL can exist even after death[13] and persist for incredible amounts of time, the 6 human SOULS are a good example of this)
- Statistics Amplification (Flexing increases their damage, while Clear Mind increases their defense)
- Accelerated Development (Via LOVE, their stats can increase the more people they kill[14])
- SOUL Flight (Their SOUL can fly around outside their body, and characters like Papyrus and Sans need to turn their SOUL blue to make it abide gravity[15][16])
- Aura and Social Influencing (Frisk has an aura of peaceful Determination, which will cause any opponent that is unsure of their desire to fight Frisk to give up.[17] Incredibly persuasive and charismatic, an example of this being Frisk flattering Froggit despite Froggit not even understanding Frisk's compliment[18])
- Creation and Limited Life Manipulation (With Draw they are capable of creating objects into reality, like boats[19])
- Dimensional Storage (With Cell Phone)
- Limited Hacking (Can defuse bombs with their cell phone)
- Healing (Can heal to full health by sleeping,[20] even if they only "sleep" for two minutes.[21] sleeping can even increase their maximun HP[22])
- Automatic Translation (Can understand Froggit)
- Heat Manipulation (With Heat Up, they can increase the temperature several times and they can decrease it with "Cool Down"[23])
- Minor Retrocognition (Frisk is able to see Chara's memory of meeting Asriel for the first time.[24] Can tell Chara's memories as jokes to Woshua.[25] When dying, they can hear[26] memory of Asgore telling them to stay determined[27])
- Immortality (Type 8; Through the Player who can resurrect them through the SAVE system)
Resistance to:
- SOUL Manipulation (Can take SOUL attacks as physical ones. A single human SOUL is nearly as strong as all monsters[10])
- Extreme Heat and Extreme Cold (Easily took an overheat explosion from a MTT brand oven, which can reach temperatures of 9000 °F. Can easily navigate through Hotland and Snowdin with no problem, the former being Hotland, hot enough to vaporize a styrofoam cup and water instantly,[28] and the latter being so cold[29] that its ice and snow resist the temperatures of Hotland,[30] with Undyne finding Snowdin to be significantly cold[31] and spiders even dying there because of this[32])
- Electricity Manipulation (Barely affected by an electric shock that briefly hurt Papyrus[33])
- Possibly Status Effect Inducement and Mind Manipulation (Madjick can cause dizziness and confusion by merely talking to it. With Clear Mind, Frisk can abate Madjick's confusion inducement and will seemingly become unaffected by its babble after Clear Mind is used)
- Possibly Poison Manipulation (The CORE seems to be filled with ozone, which Frisk was unaffected by)
- Unconventional to Paralysis Inducement (Even if their body is paralyzed, their SOUL can still fly and move around freely[5])
All powers, abilities, and resistances they would normally have to a far greater extent, plus:
- Subjective Reality and Dream Manipulation (Capable of creating physical items out of their hopes and dreams when extremely determined[5])
- Extrasensory Perception (Felt something faintly/weakly resonating within Asriel, later feeling it as their friends' SOULs. From somewhere they felt their friend's support, felt that something else began resonating within Asriel's SOUL, stronger and stronger[5])
- Immortality (Type 4) and Resurrection (Mid-Godly. In case they're unable to SAVE and LOAD,[5] they are still able to refuse to die through regenerating their SOUL.[5] Given that Flowey was able to revive himself through SAVE and LOAD despite lacking a SOUL, thus actually erasing himself from existence at death,[8] they should be able to regenerate from the erasure of both SOUL and body through refusing to die if they cannot access the former ability)
- Far greater Supernatural Willpower and Empowerment (Their Determination has reached an extremely high degree, to the point of rivaling Asriel's[5])
- Damage Reduction (With HOPE, they can reduce the amount of damage they take each turn.[34] Reduced the damage of Asriel to the point where he couldn't kill Frisk even if they had tiny amount of health left[5])
- Empathic Manipulation (Frisk can reach Asriel and the other lost SOULs during the final battle to make Asriel have feelings again[5])
- Power Modification (Changed their ACT button to SAVE button, SAVE button was completely unaffected Asriel's final attack afterwards[5])
- Information Manipulation (Type 2), Existence Erasure and Reality Warping (Just like Asriel, they should be able to use the TRUE RESET as well, as shown from also their Determination stopping Asriel from using it to reset all the game world, thus forcing him to defeat Frisk in order to gain control over the timeline.[5] This power was also probably used by Chara to restore the world after completely erasing it[35])
- Type 1 Acausality Negation (Capable of using the TRUE RESET like Asriel[5])
Resistance to:
- Existence Erasure and Information Manipulation (Type 2; Is capable of surviving Asriel's Hyper Goner, an attack which can erase an entire timeline.[5] Resisted the erasure of the game performed by Chara[35])
- Healing (Has a vast array of healing items at their disposal, with monster food converting to energy as soon as you eat it.[36] Can heal small amounts of damage passively with certain armor)
- Flight (Their phone is capable of turning into a jetpack[37])
- Statistics Amplification (They can increase their attack and defense with the multitude of weapons and armor they find along their journey. The Torn Notebook and Cloudy Glasses increases the time they are invulnerable, and the Sea Tea increases their speed)
- Minor Power Nullification (Consumables like Hush Puppy prevent dogs from casting magic)
- Possibly Energy Projection (Yellow Mode should grant this)
- Limited to Invulnerability Negation, Status Effect Inducement, and Poison Manipulation (With the Torn Notebook, [[w:c:Undertale:Cloudy Glasses|Cloudy Glasses] and [[w:c:Undertale:Temmie Armor|Temmie Armor], Frisk is able to partially resist Sans's attacks and KARMA, which normally bypass invulnerability and drains their health based on their sins, giving them extra invincibility frames and makes KARMA drain slower)
Attack Potency: Varies with Determination. At most City Block level[Statistics Value 1] with Minimal Determination (Equal to their durability, as both their ATK and DEF are rated as 0), City Block level[Statistics Value 2] with Normal Determination (Can fight likes of Papyrus[38] and Undyne[39]), far higher[Statistics Value 3] with Great Determination (Fought and defeated Asgore while not trying to kill him.[40] Killed Undyne the Undying after a long fight[41]), up to High Multiverse level+ with Peak Determination (Should be comparable to Asriel Dreemurr as they have roughly the same Determination level,[Note 1] as well as their own durability as they are both still 0 even after Determination amp, meaning stats are equally amplified. Determination also allowed Chara to destroy the entire world in one strike and tank it,[35] further solidifying that Determination amps all physicals)
Speed: Varies with Determination. FTL with Normal Determination (Can fight Napstablook and dodge his attacks), higher with Great Determination (Can fight likes of Asgore[40] and Undyne the Undyning[41]. Higher determination makes one faster, as evidenced by Omega Flowey repeatedly blitzing Frisk after stopping playing with them[42] and blitzing Sans[43] despite not being portrayed as way faster than Frisk and having had troubles with Sans[44] before), Immeasurable with Peak Determination (Dodged attacks from Asriel Dreemurr, and was able to outrun and dodge Asriel's Hyper Goner, an attack that can purge and consume an entire timeline[5][Note 2]), higher with Sea Tea (Can move faster with the Sea Tea up to reaching twice their regular speed),
Lifting Strength: Varies with Determination. Peak Human[Statistics Value 4] with Minimal Determination (Can easily push large rocks[45]), Class 10[Statistics Value 5] with Normal Determination (Is not completely pinned down by Sans' telekinesis[16]), higher with higher levels of Determination
Striking Strength: Varies with Determination. At most City Block level[Statistics Value 1] with Minimal Determination, City Block level[Statistics Value 2] with Normal Determination, far higher[Statistics Value 3] with Great Determination, up to High Multiverse level+ with Peak Determination
Durability: Varies with Determination. At most City Block level[Statistics Value 1] with Minimal Determination (Barely survived Flowey's attack,[46] although Flowey could have held back to mock them of how idiot they are just like they did as Omega Flowey.[42] Since they have 0 DEF, they should be comparable to monsters like Moldsmal with 0 DEF[47] and Shyren (Canon)/TheOrangeGuy09|Shyren]] with 0 DEF[48]), City Block level[Statistics Value 2] with Normal Determination, far higher[Statistics Value 3] with Great Determination (Can survive multiple attacks from Asgore[40]), up to High Multiverse level+ with Peak Determination (Took many hits from Asriel when he using his true power, and even managed to endure one of his strongest attacks[5]), the ability to SAVE and LOAD makes them extremely difficult to kill.
Stamina: Superhuman (Able to navigate Hotland, and is capable of withstanding hordes of attacks from numerous different monsters without any signs of tiring. Frisk can be stabbed, pierced, burned to death, electrocuted, and killed many times without being fazed. Can stay conscious at less than hundred billionth of their health[5])
Range: Standard Melee Range, higher with Equipment, Several Meters with Yellow Mode, Low Multiversal with the SAVE System (SAVE and LOAD can cause entire timelines to jump left and right[Note 3]), up to High Multiversal+ with powers at Peak Determination.
Standard Equipment: Stick, Bandage, and Cell Phone.
- Optional Equipment:
Only one of each weapon and armor piece can be worn at a time.
- Cell Phone: Allows Frisk to call and possibly text their friends and keep up with the Underground's social network
- Stick and Bandage: A stick that does very little damage, but can be thrown in some cases for minor uses. While the bandage has already been used before, Frisk can use this to regain 10 hp
- Toy Knife and Faded Ribbon: The toy knife grants Frisk a minor boost of +3 attack. The faded ribbon gives Frisk +5 defense. The ribbon supposedly makes the wearer look cute, making enemies hit with lesser force as a result
- Tough Glove and Manly Bandanna: This glove allows Frisk to hit enemies with multiple blows at a time and grants them +5 attack. The manly bandanna, which has been used many times before and has abs drawn on it, gives Frisk a +7 defense boost.
- Ballet Shoes and Old Tutu: A dangerous pair of shoes which allows Frisk to hit enemies multiple times in a row and grants them +7 attack. The old tutu is a surprisingly protective piece of armor that gives Frisk +10 defense.
- Torn Notebook and Cloudy Glasses: Gives Frisk +2 Attack and +6 Invulnerability which allows Frisk to remain untouchable for a longer period of time after being hit. The cloudy classed grant Frisk +5 defense and +9 invulnerability.
- Burnt Pan and Stained Apron: A pan which keeps damage more consistent. It also gives Frisk +10 attack and makes consumable items heal 4 extra HP. The stained apron gives Frisk +11 defense and allows them to gain 1 hp every other turn.
- Empty Gun and Cowboy Hat: A gun which has no bullets and requires precise aiming to deal good damage. It is not stated how Frisk is truly able to use it. However, it is likely that Frisk can use their determination as a substitution for the bullets as indicated by the sprites from the attack animation resembling the stars in the overworld that act as save points, which would also explain how this guns power is affected by Frisk's LV and Determination. Grants Frisk +12 attack. The cowboy hat gives Frisk +12 Defense with along with an added +5 Attack.
- Real Knife: The Genocide Route weapon counterpart of the worn dagger. Grants +99 attack, making it the strongest weapon in the game.
- Worn Dagger and Heart Locket: While this dagger is likely used for cutting plants, it gives Frisk an extra +15 attack making it one of the best weapons in the game outside the genocide route. A locket that says "best friends forever", originally belonging to either Asriel Dreemurr or Chara. This locket grants Frisk +15 defense.
- Temy Armor: Crafted by Temmie after graduating from college, this armor grants +20 defense, increases attack, grants extra invincibility frames, and heals 1 HP every turn.
- The Locket: The Genocide weapon counterpart of the Heart Locket and beats like a heart would. Grants +99 defense, making it the strongest armor in the game.
- Dog Residue: Numerous objects that have been "blessed" by the Annoying Dog. This can be used to create more Dog Residue, and sometimes a Dog Salad, which heals either 2, 5, 10, 30, or ALL HP.
- Various food items: Heals varying amounts of hp and sometimes have extra effects.
Intelligence: Gifted, likely Genius (Frisk was able to solve multiple puzzles and incredibly accurately analyze the emotional state of monsters they've just met. They are also quite skilled in close combat, being able to fight on par with various members of the Royal Guard, or defeat incredibly skilled enemies in the Genocide Route such as Undyne the Undying and Sans, who are notable for their ability to fight with difficult bullet hell attacks, with the latter also being able to use the rules of the game itself at his advantage.)
Weaknesses: While extremely difficult, sufficient failure can make a user of Determination give up, though this can result in a Reset much earlier than the last SAVE. The existence of someone with a higher amount of Determination (as it exists in Undertale) would result in the inability of beings with lesser amounts of it[8] from using their power to SAVE and LOAD, due to the control over the timeline being inherited to only the one with the highest amount of Determination[49].
- Took an explosion that has completely burned Undyne's house with Minimal Determination.[50]
- Can dodge barks.[51]
- Can dodge meteors.[52]
- Can dodge lightning.[53]
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
Note:- ↑ Even though Frisk cannot damage Asriel in the fight itself, the reason for it is not due to Frisk being unable to, but unwilling to. The evidence is Frisk doing only 1 damage to Undyne despite hitting them at full force during hangout, same as fake attack, meaning Frisk's intent to harm Undyne is so low her real attack is same as fake attack due to such lack of intent to harm. Asriel’s fight comes much, much after this on True Pacifist Route. Moreover, it is hinted that Frisk wanted to actually save Asriel, due to all buttons besides SAVE one getting out of the screen during Asriel’s last attack. They are so pacifist that they refuse to say bad things to Snowdrake's mother even if Player himself tells them to do so.
