~ Giganta |
Summary[]
Giganta was once a female gorilla living in Gorilla City, until she fell under Grodd's manipulations and was transformed, by the conniving villain, into a humanoid creature who could grow to tremendous sizes. This size manipulation granted her profound strength and durability, and she became Grodd's most consistent ally in his battle against the forces of good, fighting alongside him in both the Secret Society and Legion of Doom, as well as frequently attempting to free him from imprisonment.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: High 6-A to 5-B
Name: Giganta
Origin: The DC Animated Universe
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown (Her appearance was provided to her by Grodd's modifications, and as such is not necessarily indicative of her actual age)
Classification: Genetically Altered Gorilla, Founding Member of the (Now Defunct) Secret Society, Member of the Legion of Doom
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics (See Attack Potency, Speed, Lifting Strength, and Durability)
- Size Manipulation (Can shrink to the size of a (notably tall but still relatively normal) human, or grow to the size of a building, or even larger if she chooses)
- Large Size (Can grow so large she at least warrants Type 1, if not Type 2)
- Possibly Enhanced Senses (May have retained her gorilla senses after her transformation)
Attack Potency: Multi-Continent Level to Planet Level (Despite the fact that her feats on her own are consistently Building to City Block Level, I scale her to Tier 6 and 5 because of the following feats which scale her to the DCAU's tier 6-5 scaling. She is a consistent physical equal of Wonder Woman, harming her three separate times and only being knocked out in "Secret Society" because it was a punch to her chin (a weak spot on many mammals that allows them to be one-shot by those they would otherwise be the equal of) and she was notably fatigued from the preceding battle. Hurt and knocked away Rampage with a kick - Rampage being capable of making Bizarro punch-drunk with a three-strike combo. Knocked out Superman after Parasite had depowered him to some extent, and later punched a similarly depowered Superman through a huge football stage. Would have punched down this huge stone wall if it hadn't had an electric field around it, and later casually smashed the huge wall of a warehouse. Can smash a notable portion of a prison's wing just by falling on it. Toppled a massive prison tower with a casual swipe of her hand. Walked through Killer Frost's huge ice bridge as if it was tissue paper. Could have crushed Gorilla Grodd to death. Caused a huge crater just by falling. Shook a mansion with an attack. One-shot helicopters. Casually slapped away Parademons like they were bugs)
Speed: Relativistic reactions and combat speed (Fought Wonder Woman on several occasions, consistently tagging her while WW was battle-ready, and twice did the same to Hawkgirl. Reacted to a notably weakened Superman and tagged him. Hit helicopters out of the air), with Subsonic running speed via sheer size
Lifting Strength: At least Class K (Can move at great speeds despite her tremendous size and mass. Crushed a helicopter between her hands and tossed it far away. Lifted and threw a football goalpost), if not Class M (Should compare to Wonder Woman's higher LS ends)
Striking Strength: Multi-Continent Class to Planet Class
Durability: Multi-Continental to Planet Level (Shown to be capable of taking melee attacks from Wonder Woman, who, as proven above, Giganta scales to in AP - and in that same vein, Giganta should scale to her own AP as per Newton's Third Law. Was unbothered by falling onto a prison hard enough to destroy a notable portion of one of its wings. Consistently no-sells gunfire. She yells in pain when hit with one of Green Arrow's explosive arrows, but this can easily be dismissed as an outlier because to say otherwise would imply Green Arrow's small explosives somehow scale to the Tier 6 to 5 power of Wonder Woman)
Stamina: At least Athletic (Can keep fighting after powerful punches to the face and leg)
Range: At least Tens of Meters, possibly Hundreds of Meters (Due to her sheer height and the size of her enlarged limbs)
Standard Equipment: None Notable
Intelligence: At least Average (Was a gorilla of gorilla city, wherein the Gorillas seem to be at least about as smart as the average human, with notable exceptions like Grodd and Solovar - other than this, she never demonstrates any particular level of book smarts or combat smarts)
Standard Tactics: Isn't a terribly complicated fighter, tending to crush her foes with brute-strength melee attacks.
Weaknesses: Normal Human Weaknesses.
Note: Bruce Timm has stated that the original DCAU tie-in comics are not canon, with the only tie in comics that have statements to the contrary (other than Batman: The Adventures Continue, which has so many continuity issues that it's essentially impossible to argue it's canon) being Justice League Infinity, the Batman and Harley Quinn tie in comics, and specifically the first annual of Batman Adventures. Ergo, I only consider those three comics canon.
