Summary[]
The GMK Godzilla (ゴジラ GMK Gojira?) is a kaiju that appeared in the 2001 Godzilla film, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack.
It is the third incarnation of Godzilla to appear in the Millennium series of films and the seventh onscreen incarnation of the character overall. Unlike other interpretations of the character, this Godzilla is a supernatural entity spawned by the restless souls of those killed by the Japanese military during World War II. Godzilla sought revenge against Japan for its past crimes and came ashore to punish the nation by obliterating its cities. To combat the beast, the prophet Hirotoshi Isayama awakened three Guardian Monsters, Baragon, Mothra and King Ghidorah, in the hopes they would defend the country. Godzilla easily defeated all three monsters, but their efforts exploited a weakness in Godzilla that the JSDF used to finally defeat him. However, even after Godzilla's body was destroyed, his heart was left behind, continuously beating on the sea floor.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: At least Low 5-B, Higher with Gravitational Atomic Breath
Name: Godzilla, King of the Monsters, God of Destruction
Origin: Godzilla
Gender: Male
Age: At least 200 million years old, likely higher
Classification: Resurrected kaiju created by the souls of those killed by Japan in WWII
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Large Size (Type 1; 60 Meters tall.)
- Soul Manipulation & Soul Deconstruction (Able to absorb souls and use them to prolong his life[1]. Despite blowing himself up at the end, there are no souls to be seen, meaning he destroyed them[2].)
- Regeneration (Mid-Low in combat; Low-Godly over time; this Godzilla is a supernatural entity spawned by the restless souls of those killed in the Pacific theater during World War II, being created as the amalgamation of Non-corporeal beings warrants Low-Godly Regen, but this is Non-combat applicable as it took likely 50 years to be done[3].)
- Immortality (Types 1, 2, 3, 4 & 7; GMK Godzilla is essentially a dead body possessed by millions of souls[4].)
- Multiple Selves (Type 2; his body is an amalgamation of countless souls.)
- Resurrection (Though it is not combat applicable)
- Natural Weaponry (Conventional - Teeth, claws and tail)
- Extrasensory Perception and Enhanced Senses (Awareness, Night Vision, Microvision, Neutral Vision, Hearing, Smell; Scales to the original Godzilla, who Sensed Ogata and Serizawa's presence while taking a nap[5]. Godzilla’s ears can distinguish any noise no matter how distant. Inside them, there is a radar-like magnetic band, ensuring that no matter where he is on Earth, he will never get lost. When compared to an active sonar dolphin, Godzilla can detect distant enemies even in complete darkness or underwater. It is thought that his vision is capable of detecting the blood even in a three-year-old child[6]. Godzilla can casually live in the depths of underwater caves in the South Pacific, where light is scarce, and as a result, he developed a natural ability to see in the darkness by adapting through the conditions of this ambient of low luminosity)
- Self-Sustenance (Types 1 & 2; Though technically a reptile and not an amphibian, Godzilla has an amphibious lifestyle. He spends half of his life in water and the other on land. Godzilla can remain completely submerged underwater for long periods, and Kyohei Yamane suggests that he survived for millions of years living inside a deep underwater cavern. This idea is supported by official artwork of the 1954 Godzilla living with other Godzillas underwater before a huge explosion destroys his habitat, killing his companions and burning and enraging Godzilla, and drawing him to the surface. Can survive without food for long periods of time)
- Possible Weather Manipulation (The storm that has hit Odo Island was registered as a abnormal phenomena, possessing extraordinary strength capable of destroying vessels and a helicopter with ease, with Godzilla being implied to have caused it[8])
- Radiation Manipulation
- Energy Manipulation, Absorption & Projection
- Accelerated Development, Adaptation, Reactive Power Level & Reactive Evolution (Battle & Training; Physical Stats & Abilities - After being stuck multiple times by King Ghidorah's electrical attacks, Godzilla adapted to absorb the energy. Godzilla then uses the energy to launch a powered up version of his atomic breath, the Gravitational Atomic Breath)
- Matter Manipulation (Sub-Atomic), Transmutation and Electricity Manipulation (Godzilla's stomach has the capacity of absorbing everything he consumes over time, operating in a very similar way to a nuclear reactor by producing atomic energy, his main source of power[9]. Godzilla's intestines are able to extract uranium to generate energy, and he has a "energy sac" which stores a uranium liquid and a high-voltage electric current)
- Durability Negation & Deconstruction (Godzilla's Atomic breath can disintegrate things on a subatomic level[10].)
- Magnetism Manipulation (When Godzilla unleashes the Vapor Breath, he emits magnetic fields and radiation creating a phenomena called Cherenkov Radiation[11])
- Energy Manipulation, Absorption & Projection
- Light Manipulation & Breath Attack
- Gravitational Atomic Breath:
Resistance to:
- Radiation (Godzilla is a prehistoric creature, mutated due to nuclear radiation, which is presented as an explanation for his great size and strange powers
Attack Potency: At least Small Planet Level (His Atomic Breath is stronger than the Vapor Breath of the Original Godzilla. Vaporized Mothra with his Atomic Breath and injured King Ghidorah. Should scale above the Oxygen Destroyer, which is this powerful[Statistics Values 1]. Stated to be far stronger than the original Godzilla.) Higher with Gravitational Atomic Breath (Godzilla is somehow able to draw strength from the gravity beams and use the absorbed energy to fire a blast of his atomic breath wrapped in a golden spiral that destroys King Ghidorah, which was at least 10x times stronger than before.[Statistics Values 2])
Speed: Subsonic+ travel speed, with Relativistic+ Combat and Reactions speed
Lifting Strength: Class G (Stronger than the Original Godzilla.)
Striking Strength: At least Small Planet Class
Durability: At least Small Planet Level
Stamina: Infinite due to his nature as a spirit of vengeance
Range: Tens of Meters by sheer size, Hundreds of Meters with Atomic Breaths
Standard Equipment: Teeth, tail and claws
Intelligence: Average (This Godzilla seeks nothing except for the complete and utter destruction of Japan and all of its people as punishment for all of the deaths and atrocities caused by the Japanese military during World War II. This version of Godzilla actively sought out individual humans and attempted to kill them, as shown when he spotted a crowd of civilians and blasted them with his atomic breath. Utilizes his surroundings to his advantage, as shown when he notices a D-3 Missile fired from a Satsuma submarine and maneuvered King Ghidorah's head so that it would be struck by the missile)
Weaknesses: Puncturing his organs will cause his atomic breath to leak out which will eventually destroy his body, however, Godzilla was not truly killed, as his disembodied heart continued to beat on the seafloor
