Grumpy is a large, extremely aggressive male Tyrannosaurus rex featured in the 2009 adaptation of the Land of the Lost franchise. He serves as the secondary antagonist of the film, but later became an anti-hero later during the fight against the Sleestaks.

Intelligence: Average (Grumpy displayed more personality traits in which his conflict against Rick and co. being a personal one as opposed of being a mere predatory animal. As Rick discovered in hard way, the tyrannosaurus is much more intelligent than either he or his companions assumed and that he resented those who assumed his brain just as large as a walnut thus incredibly stupid; not only he able to understand what they're saying, but also immediately prove the man wrong by running fast enough to build up enough momentum to jump over a chasm which separated him and human protagonists. Given that Rick was the only one who believed in misconceptions which irritated him, Grumpy holds no ill-will towards his companions Holly and Will and even spared them in his vendetta against the former. Rick claims one more time to Will that the Tyrannosaurus has a brain of the size of a nut, but Grumpy comes at the entrance of the cave and deposes an enormous walnut, then he throws a dark look to Rick. Grumpy's temper is further attributed to bowel obstruction which afflicted him for quite a while up until he eventually devours Rick, leading the latter to solve the problem from within while surviving hazards in the dinosaur's digestive tract. In his gratitude, Grumpy puts his misgivings towards the human aside and works alongside the latter side by side to stop Enik. After the crisis against Enik, Grumpy and Rick and co. depart on better terms[1])
