“ | You may hate the dictator, but something... far worse is gonna fill that void if you depose of him. I've lived a million lifetimes. I've gone through every, every scenario. This is the only way. | „ |
~ He Who Remains |
Summary[]
The scientist known as Victor Timely was born in the 31st Century as one of the most intelligent beings in the Universe. Like many of his Variants across the Multiverse, Timely discovered the Universes stacked on top of his, and made contact with other Kangs and Victor Timelys. What started as a cordial, mutually-beneficial partnership spiralled into an all-out war due to the Conqueror's actions, who sought to "save" the multiverse by wiping out others.
Will all of existence under threat, Timely discovered a tempest of space-time that he engineered into the devourer Alioth. With his army spearheaded by Alioth, Timely erased all but a few timelines, which would be known as the Sacred Timeline. The Time Variance Authority was formed by him to ensure this Sacred Timeline would not branch to prevent any evil variant of him from ever being born. With his work done, he would oversee the timeline from the End of Time, as He Who Remains.
After countless years at the End of Time, He Who Remains would ultimately be replaced by Loki, who offered a new solution: The God of Mischief would weave together the branches himself, restoring the multiverse and giving the TVA a chance to fight the evil variants of He Who Remains who would one day arrive.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: 10-B physically, at least Low 2-C, up to Low 1-C with technology and preparation | Low 1-C | Possibly Low 1-C
Key: Base | Alioth | Possible God Powers
Name: He Who Remains, HWR, Victor Timely, Kang | Alioth
Origin: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Gender: Male | None
Age: Likely hundreds of millions of years | Irrelevant
Classification: Human, Dictator | Trans-temporal entity, Living Tempest, The Beast
Powers and Abilities:
- Genius Intelligence (Unbelievably intelligent, can easily create vast multiversal technology and has remarkable foresight)
- Cosmic Awareness (Predicted every event after the Multiversal War until Loki and Sylvie's arrivals)
- Technological Manipulation
- Possibly Immortality (Type 1: Has lived for countless years, though this may be due to the nature of the End of Time.)
With his custom Tempad:
- Time Manipulation, Time Travel, Teleportation, and Temporal-Multiversal BFR via Portal Creation (Creates Timedoors that can transport someone anywhere in the Multiverse and across time. His TemPad even has the capability to make doors to places in hypertime)
- Teleportation, Time Reversal and BFR (With Time Twister functionality, which allows HWR to reverse others to an earlier point, teleport himself on command, and send others away)
- Time Stop (Can pause time, even in places like the End of Time, where normal Time Manipulation doesn't work at all)
With Preparation:
- Non-Physical Interaction (Turned a tempest of space-time into Alioth, a mindless hyperdimensional being that acts at his beck and call)
- Time Dilation and Temporal-Multiversal BFR (With Time Sticks, that upon hit cause their targets to move at 1/16th speed while feeling the pain in real-time. Touching somone with the end of a Time Stick prunes them, disconecting them from the Multiverse and sending them to the End of Time)
- Existence Erasure (With Reset Charges and Time Rippers. Reset Charges can reset events in time up to a certain point. Can likely create Time Rippers, that destroy an entire space-time continuum, and can destroy the Multiverse if amplified)
- Power Nullification (Can create Magic Dampeners for a given area, which are so powerful they nullify Infinity Stones and can stop Loki from using magic)
- Mind Manipulation (Has a command called Protocol 42 on Miss Minutes, which allows him to supress memories of massive groups of people. Wiped the memories of TVA employees at least twice)
- Space-Time Manipulation and Explosion Manipulation (Created the Temporal Loom, which can weave branches of time together into timelines. Has the capability to explode if overloaded, with such ferocity that it can delete an infinite, infinitely-expanding Multiverse)
- Energy Manipulation, Energy Projection, Forcefield Creation, Shockwave Generation and Flight (Via Kang Suit, which nearly every Timely variant can build and/or has access to)
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Enhanced Senses
- Large Size (Up to Type 8 to 10 frequently splits its being into smaller forms)
- Acausality (Type 1 Exists in the Void at the End of Time, isn't affected by the erasure of entire timelines, nor by devouring them into its being)
- Self-Sustenance (Types 1 and likely 3)
- Immortality (Type 1)
- Existence Erasure (Consumes energy and matter, as well as time and space)
- Void Manipulation
- Spatial Manipulation
- Time Manipulation
- Weather Manipulation (Is described as a "Living Tempest or Storm")
- Energy Absorption
- Intangibility
- Incorporeality (Is a living storm of space-time. Cannon fire didn't affect Alioth)
- Resistance to Time Manipulation and Spatial Manipulation
May possess all the powers of God Loki:
- Time Travel and Time Manipulation
- Existence Erasure (Passive)
- Acausality (Types 1 and 4)
- Likely Immortality (Type 1)
Resistance to:
Attack Potency: Human level physically, at least Universe level+ (His technology at the TVA has made them able to deal with Titans, who should be relative to Thanos, and no doubt variants of beings such as Captain Marvel, Thor and the Scarlet Witch. Should he have access to the Kang Suit, it boasts bare-minimum the potency to lay waste to Universes) up to Low Complex Multiverse level with technology and preparation (Built the entire TVA, a civilisation above the Multiverse. Can create technology capable of manipulating the Multiverse at a fundamental level. In particular, the Temporal Loom, which can not only weave branches that are timelines together, but can explode with the potency to annihilate an infinitely-growing Multiverse. Has direct control over Alioth) | Low Complex Multiverse level (Fifth-Dimensional: Devours entire branched realities instantly. Was the most important entity in ending the Multiversal War, consuming all of an infinitely-expanding multiverse, bar a few select timelines) | Possibly Low Complex Multiverse level (Possibly at least Sixth-Dimensional: Scaling from Loki. Claimed to have paved the road for Loki's time-slipping, but this may have been due to technology instead of possessing those powers directly)
Speed: At least Relativistic+ reaction speed (Capable of reacting to Sylvie fast enough to use the Time Twister to dodge her attack), Massively FTL+ with technology and preparation (In particular, the Kang Suit, which should be faster than Thor) | Superhuman, Immesurable in Combat (Devoured nearly the entire Multiverse and can instantly devour branched realities) | Possibly Immesurable (Scaling from Loki)
Lifting Strength: Normal Human, Possibly Immesurable via technology (The TVA appears to float, but this is likely due to an absence of gravity) | Unknown | Possibly Immesurable
Striking Strength: Human level physically, at least Universe level+, up to Low Complex Multiverse level with technology and preparation | Low Complex Multiverse Level | Low Complex Multiverse level
Durability: Human level physically, at least Universe level+, up to Low Complex Multiverse level with technology and preparation | Low Complex Multiverse Level | Low Complex Multiverse level
Stamina: Normal Human | Limitless | Possibly Limitless
Range: Standard Melee Range, Low Complex Multiversal via techonology (Wiped the entire Multiverse, and can contruct the TVA which is above the Multiverse itself. Also via Alioth) | Low Complex Multiversal | Standard Melee Range, possibly Low Complex Multiversal via powers
Standard Equipment: His special TemPad, Alioth | None Notable | Unknown
Intelligence: Supergenius. Likely the smartest of all Victor Timely variants, He Who Remains orchestrated the end of the Multiversal War, leading an army, and managing to turn a tempest of space-time into Alioth. Alioth in particular is capable of instantly devouring realities and responds to HWR's beck and call. Created the entire TVA, stating that it would be easy to rebuild if destroyed. Also created the Temporal Loom, which manipulates universal space-time continuums into a single stream, and can explode with the potency to destroy an infinitely-expanding multiverse. Courtesy of mind-wiping the TVA employees, he kept them administrating the Multiverse for eons, even after removing traces of his visage. By all of this, he effectively guaranteed his reincarnation if he were killed, as another one of him would just replace all the work he did. Knew the exact script of his encounter with Loki and Sylvie. Knew that Loki was time-slipping, and that they had spoken more than once. Loki, a genius in his own right, describes He Who Remains as terrifying. He also has vast cosmic awareness from the duration of his life, and vast experience in the technology he wields either directly or indirectly. | Animalistic. Alioth is drawn to consume anything in his path and only listens to the command of He Who Remains.
Weaknesses: Is just a normal human | Magic | None Notable
