The Indominus rex was a hybrid dinosaur and a major antagonist in the Jurassic Park franchise, serving as one of the two main antagonists of Jurassic World (alongside Vic Hoskins), a major antagonist of the Netflix series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (specifically the secondary antagonist of Season 1 and a posthumous antagonist of the subsequent seasons), the posthumous overarching antagonist of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and a posthumous antagonist of Jurassic World: Dominion.
In the first Jurassic World film, she was going to be the latest attraction added to the park for higher profits. The hybrid was created by modifying the genome of a Tyrannosaurus rex with the DNA of various other theropods. Some of the known species that were included were Velociraptor, Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops, Pycnonemosaurus, Quilmesaurus, Viavenator, Deinosuchus, and Therizinosaurus. There were also the DNA of modern animals such as cuttlefish, tree frog, and a pit viper snake.
