Summary

Iori Yagami is the descendant of the original Yasakani Clan who was one of the three families that sealed away Orochi in the past, soon a member of this clan would forge a pact with Orochi and this corrupted him and every one of his descendants.

Iori would be affected by this pact and begin to try and hunt down the current head of the Kusanagi Clan, Kyo Kusanagi would become his eternal rival.

Soon Iori would learn of the past of the three clans and Orochi and would be forced to team up with Kyo Kusanagi and Chizuru Kagura in order to defeat the Heavenly Kings of Orochi and Orochi himself before sealing him away again.

Standard Equipment:

  • Yasakani Jewel: The Yasakani Jewel is one of the Three Sacred Treasures that is passed down the Yasakani bloodline through their DNA. It is inside their body and gives the Yasakani lineage the ability to produce flames from their bodies, this flame can be used to seal away beings such as Orochi for one thousand eight hundred years. Due to the pact made with Orochi, those with the Yasakani Jewel are also able to tap into the Riot of the Blood which dramatically increases their power in exchange for becoming a raging beast.

  • Yagami-ryū Kobujutsu: Iori is a master of Yagami-ryū Kobujutsu, a one-thousand-eight-hundred-year-old martial arts style that was originally used to seal away Orochi by the founder of the Yata Clan.

  • Yagami Flames: As a member of the Yagami Clan, Iori is able to produce purple flames from his body. These flames can be used in a variety of ways, they can be launched as a projectile that travels across the floor, make close-range explosions to enhance Iori's strikes, make large pillars of flames to guarantee a hit on an opponent or to set Iori on fire to prevent him from being touched and to increase his own power. These flames also have the power to purify souls and to seal away beings like Orochi away for hundreds of years.
  • Slashing Claws: Iori is able to form slashes whenever he swings his hands, this allows him to extend his physical strikes as well as allowing Iori to cut his opponents.
  • Riot of the Blood: Thanks to the pact his clan made with Orochi, Iori goes into this form whenever Orochi's presence is strong. While in this form, he becomes stronger and faster in exchange for becoming an insane berserker.

    • MAX Mode: MAX Mode is a power-up all fighters can access. In exchange for their Super Meter depleting quickly over time, the fighter gets enhanced strength and durability for a limited amount of time as well as access to enhanced versions of their strongest techniques and the ability to use their strongest technique. Once their Super Meter is empty, MAX Mode will end.
    • Extra Mode: Extra Mode is an advanced version of MAX Mode where after it runs out, all of the advantages gained from using MAX Mode are kept for the rest of the fight.
    • Armour Mode: Armour Mode is a power-up all fighters can access. In exchange for their Super Metre depleting quickly over time, the fighter gets greatly enhanced durability. Once their Super Meter is empty, Armour Mode will end.
    • Counter Mode: Counter Mode is a power-up all fighters can access. In exchange for their Super Meter depleting quickly over time, the fighter gets enhanced strength as well as the ability to use Guard Cancels and Guard Escapes as much as they want. Once their Super Meter is empty, Counter Mode will end.
    • Critical Counter Mode: Critical Counter Mode is a power-up all fighters can access. When a fighter has filled out their Critical Counter gauge and lands a counter with a heavy attack, they will enter Critical Counter Mode. In Critical Counter Mode, the fighter is able to string together attacks and techniques better making them a better fighter, when Critical Counter Mode is nearly over, the fighter can choose to end it with an enhanced version of their strongest move. Once the Critical Counter gauge is empty, Critical Counter Mode will end.
    • Hyperdrive Mode: Hyperdrive Mode is a power-up all fighters can access. In exchange for their Super Meter depleting quickly over time, the fighter gets the ability to cancel every one of their moves and techniques, allowing them to combo all of their moves and techniques together better. Once their Super Meter is empty, Hyperdrive Mode will end.

    • Sakahagi: The Sakahagi is a special technique where Iori grabs the opponent's chin before slashing them with an upwards slash.
    • Kanyarai: The Kanyarai is a special technique where Iori grabs the opponent and raises them up above him before slamming them to the ground behind him.

    • 108 Shiki: Yamibarai: The 108 Shiki: Yamibaraii is a special technique where Iori creates a purple fire wave that travels across the floor towards the opponent to burn them.

    After Ash Crimson stole the Yasakani Jewel from Iori, he lost all of his pyrokinetic abilities that were crucial to his fighting style so instead, Iori decided to make another fighting style to compliment his brutality without relying on his flames. Eventually, Iori would gain his flames back and he would use some of the moves from his Flameless fighting style into his standard Yagami-ryū Kobujutsu style.
