“ | Course it is nice to see Fnar again, I miss that little runt. He started me on my path to redemption. Heh, he was a good kid.... I really failed him didn't I? I know he's doing better now but- maybe it wasn't my fault. But that doesn't excuse me for not being there when he needed me. To get black eyed angry and leave him alone when he needed me... I miss him... | „ |
~ Jack reminiscing about Fnar |
Summary[]
Jack is the main protagonist of Jack and one of the personifications of the seven deadly sins. He represents the Sin of Wrath, and is also the Grim Reaper of the living realm. Jack was the first ever anthropomorphic animal born in a lab by humans, but after feeling betrayed by the "Gods", who were the humans that brought him sentience, he soon took control over the company, and created anthropomorphic animals en masse, and destroyed all of civilization, with it all having to restart again but with anthropomorphic animals.
As a result of this, Jack was reborn in the afterlife as a Sin, the Sin of Wrath, and effectively the Grim Reaper, and now his goal is to atone for his sins and to use his role as the Grim Reaper for the greater good. However, the existence of the other 6 Seven Deadly Sins personified as reborn people in the afterlife cause a lot of trouble, and specifically target Jack and the people he cares for, and it's Jack's duty to stop their recklessness, at the same time as helping those who have died, and getting the trust back of his significant other, Farrago, after having hurt her emotionally.
Note: All Sins should have the same powers, due to Jack's explanation about Sins returning back and regenerating implying shared powers amongst all of them, as well as the fact that Jack has portrayed similar abilities as other Sins before. Sins also gain their powers upon dying and becoming Sins in the afterlife, and there would be no reason for Sins to be granted different powers when being assigned as one, especially since the ones Lust/Drip uses are usually not allowed in the way he uses them by higher-ups in the afterlife.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: At least 4-A
Name: Jack
Origin: Jack
Gender: Male
Age: Unspecified, at least several thousands of years (was the first anthropomorphic animal created in a lab, which as a species has has several generations)
Classification: Grim Reaper, Sin of Wrath
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Fourth Wall Awareness (Jack acknowledges his place in a webcomic archive series)
- Multiple Languages (Can speak English and Russian)
- Immortality (Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8; Jack is an Sin, and so they are an undead being, and can withstand and regenerate from their head being cut off. It has also been repeatedly stated that Hell will "respawn" murdered Sins and generally anyone there. Beings who live in Heaven can live for an infinite amount of time, and damned souls in Hell can participate in death games countless of times, dying each time, and Angels can live for countless amounts of lifetimes, and people in Hell can live for over 300 years without any change to their appearance. Respawning can be beneficial, since damned souls can kill themselves to reform their bodies and not have to deal with injuries. Sins, and Reapers, can stay alive even as a mere head in a jar. Jack has been a Sin ever since the restructuring of society and civilization, which had to start from scratch. Those in Hell can stay alive there as long as their soul exists, though in Mr. Smith's case, his soul was sealed inside of a hat)
- Acausality (Type 4; Hell lacks time in of itself, which made the Precognition powers of a lady not work anymore, due to the future and the past seemingly not existing in Hell to begin with, however, this is confirmed to only be because Hell has a messy form of how time works, and operates under different laws)
- Self-Sustenance (Type 1 and 2; the afterlife doesn't have air, and being an undead being, he's lived several years without needing it. People can experience the sensation of suffocation, but they will not die from it. Those in Hell seemingly don't need nutrition or hydration, since Megan in Hell can sleep for 5 days straight and not starve or be too thirsty, and still have enough energy to run away from a monster, however they can still experience the sensation of hunger after enough time)
- Limited Afterimage Creation (Superior to regular Angels, who can swing their arms fast enough to generate afterimages with their arms)
- Pocket Reality Manipulation (Jack can create an area in reality called a "Sufferance Zone", in which characters' souls can "bend the perception of reality" and create objects out of nowhere or transport them to the person if that person's soul is in a moment of need. This pocket reality can be accessed through making a portal, meaning Jack in the scene in which he created one, would have sent them through there)
- Subjective Reality
- Creation (Sufferance Zones allow for the creation of objects that the character there desires)
- Summoning (Sufferance Zones can cause living things to be manifested into reality)
- Limited Mind Manipulation (Sufferance Zones are able to make those within them start to remember their lives when they were alive more clearly)
- Subjective Reality
- Mind Reading (Can read others' minds. Sins do this by linking their minds with others)
- Regeneration (Mid; Scales to Gluttony, who can regenerate their head being cut off and have his chest pierced. Note that his head turning into nothing is him being sent back to Hell. Sins are stated to have regenerative properties)
- Non-Physical Interaction (Jack is able to force souls out of people's corporeal bodies, and his cloak can devour souls. Is a Sin and frequently interacts with dead people, however he can interact with the living if he choses to. Able to affect souls. Those in the afterlife can sit on clouds. People with physical bodies are able to touch and physically interact with souls, which should be incorporeal)
- Non-Corporeal (Souls are heavily implied to be incorporeal, with their physical bodies being the corporeal part of their being. Is able to make himself intangible to the living, able to swoosh through their bodies, and be unaffected by attacks such as bullets)
- Weapon Mastery (Skilled at using his scythe, and is able to "snipe" Gluttony by throwing his scythe at him)
- Portal Creation (Can turn the inside of his cloth into a portal to send others to Hell. Jack was able to create a Sufferance Zone and send others to there, which requires a portal)
- BFR
- Limited Death Manipulation (If Jack sends a living person to Hell, that person will eventually be killed and become a damned soul after several days. If a living person is sent to Hell, they cannot come back, and will stay there)
- BFR
- Soul Manipulation (As the Grim Reaper, he can forcefully send souls to either to Hell or Heaven, and trap them there. Jack is able to force souls out of people's corporeal bodies, and have his cloak devour souls. The souls he sends to Hell can also interact through wraps of his robe without Jack noticing or feeling them. In this scene, Jack forced Lust/Drip into Hell and Lust's soul is trying to interact with Lita through Jack's robes)
- Sealing (1 Layer. Type 3; Jack's robes were confirmed to have sealed Lust/Drip's soul within it after Jack realized Lust had done sexual acts to his own unborn son Fnar, leaving the rest of Lust's body as powerless. Jack can also force souls he has within him out of his body. This ability overpowers the innate property souls have, which allows souls to drift and break apart, flowing away back to their original body, even if their body is in another realm)
- Multiple Selves (Sins have a soul, and a physical body, which can talk and act differently from one another, however when they are together, the physical body's personality takes over)
- Causality Manipulation (Should have the same abilities as Gluttony, who can use Causality Manipulation to cause plane crashes, with said plane crash having been caused by the plane being torn apart in half, and not through a hijacking, to the dismay of Jack. This results in the events of Arc IV. The reason why Gluttony did this was to eat and consume the corpses of those who died from it. Jack also used this power to do this)
- Biological Manipulation (Jack can change the physical body of others, and thus, their physical appearance as well)
- Body Control (Can use his body control to protrude spikes from his body. Can turn into a liquid-like substance, and turn himself into a giant wave)
- Cloth Manipulation
- Duplication (Can use his morphing abilities to make effectively make two of himself)
- Power Bestowal (Same abilities as Lust/Drip, who made a deal with a woman. Lust would give her the power of seeing the future and bring her back to life, but once she dies, her soul will be owned by him)
- Resurrection
- Memory Manipulation (Same abilities as Lust/Drip, who erased the memory of a woman)
- Flight (shown to be able to fly at all times, can fly upwards)
- Rage Power (Was able to rip off Drip's spine after becoming enraged, the context in which this is confirmed to be from anger comes from here)
- Paralysis Inducement (Can use his shapeshifting to immobilize others for an indefinite amount of time, even other Sins)
- Natural Weaponry (Can use his teeth to rip off flesh of others)
- Invisibility (Jack is shown to make himself visible to those who are dead, but invisible to those who are alive)
- Weather Manipulation (can generate lightning storms in Hell, which doesn't naturally have lightning due to it being a realm, and not a planet, as well as lightning never having been shown before in the afterlife)
- Extrasensory Perception (Has implied that he can "sense" people, however, it can be nullified. Jack is able to know whether or not someone died to go to Hell, or simply used Dimensional Travel to get there)
- Enhanced Senses (Jack is capable of smelling souls, and being able to tell if they are "clean" or not)
- Precognition (He can also sense when someone will die in moments before he chooses to appear, and in what specific location. Noted by Richek, using Jack's nickname, "Harvey", thinking that if Jack's there, that means someone will die. Which quickly soon afterwards, does. This is because deaths resulted from the living realm all are pre-determined, and Jack is able to know the exact time and date of deaths as long as they aren't interfered with)
- Clairvoyance (When asked about the whereabouts of someone's soul, Jack is able to inexplicably know exactly where in Hell their soul is)
- Teleportation (Shown here)
- Healing (Used his hand to heal back his cut off jaw good-as-new)
- Dimensional Travel (Can easily access the living realm, as well as all the places in the afterlife, which include Purgatory, Heaven and Hell. In this case, he was sent back to Hell after being decapitated in the living realm, but came back anyways on his own)
- Telepathy (Should have the same powers as Drip, who was able to send messages to a person in the living realm by using his voice, before Jack had to stop him)
- Sleep Manipulation (Should have similar powers to Drip, who can make Cliff fall asleep)
- Weapon Control (Jack can telekinetically control his own scythes, as shown as when he made it spin around to cut Gluttony, and sent it back to his grasp)
- Power Nullification (Same powers as Lust/Drip, who has the power to restrict and prevent Jack from using his powers, and lifting the restrictions off when he wants to, and activating the restrictions again when he chooses as well)
- Organic Manipulation (Was able to generate an endless flow of crumbs of an unknown type of food, to feed Hell critters)
- Possession (Sins such as Drip are able to possess living beings unexpectedly)
- Time Travel (Jack can time travel to several thousands of years in the past to when his living self caused a plane crash and a nuclear apocalypse)
- Resistance to...
- Fire Manipulation (Was able to withstand having fire blown at him for a sustained amount of time)
- Physical-Based Power Nullification (Jack was able to entrap Lust/Drip's soul inside of his flowing robe-body, and Lust/Drip lacked any powers as mere a head the entire time without his soul, meanwhile his soul itself was still able to nullify Jack's powers. This means that the powers Sins possess come directly from their souls. Additionally, Drip still has his power to link his mind to others even without his soul. Power Nullification shouldn't affect their Type 4 and 8 Immortalities due to that coming from Hell, and not an innate power Sins have)
- Soul Manipulation (Sins without their souls (as shown here, where Lust is about to be reunited with his soul which was sealed in Jack's robes) lose their powers, as shown when Lust wasn't able to do anything, even regenerate, after being merely a head. However this means that Sins losing their souls don't instantly die, and should still possess their innate skill and strength. Those who lose their souls, even in the living realm, turn into Reworks, who are still alive, and behave somewhat primally, but still can express a variety of emotions, and even feel sympathy and feel joy. Reworks are neither living or dead)
- Possession (Jack is able to force foreign souls out of his body to remove his link to them)
- Time Manipulation and Precognition (Able to move and act in Hell, which is a place that seemingly doesn't have time, due to Hell's unnatural form of time that realms in the afterlife have, which made the Precognition powers of a character useless)
- Disease Manipulation (Those in Hell are stated to be immune to diseases)
- Death Manipulation (Is already dead. Due to this, Hell cannot initiate its process of automatically killing those alive within Hell for Jack)
- Sealing (Type 3; Souls automatically begin breaking apart and drifting back to the owner's body if they are far away, which can travel souls even from Hell to the living realm)
Attack Potency: At least Multi-Solar System level (Jack is comparable to other Sins, who are capable of destroying a mirror than can contain and release enough energy to shake all of Hell and Heaven, two areas of the afterlife that are infinite in size. His attacks can carry enough force to damage other characters, who can survive a large explosion. It's confirmed that Jack constantly holds back in fights due to being innately stronger than other Sins due to being the Sin of Wrath. Satan has stated that Sins are stated to be one of the most powerful beings in Hell)
Speed: Supersonic travel speed, Supersonic+ reactions (Jack upscales these officers who were able to narrowly avoid bullets at a rather short distance from a Glock. Another instance similar occurs, where a police officer also dodges a shot from his own gun at point-blank. Characters are said and able to aim-dodge several deadly blades on a conveyer belt, which are stated to be so fast they retract and detract faster than someone like Farrago could see them. Upscales regular Angels who can generate afterimages with their arms)
Lifting Strength: Class K (Rips off Drip's spine, should be this strong. Was also able to snap someone's spine with his back. Jack can send cars flying into the air)
Striking Strength: At least Multi-Solar System level (Can use physical attacks to harm other Sins)
Durability: At least Multi-Solar System level (Able to take hits from Drip/Lust, who should be comparable to Vanity due to them all being Sins)
Stamina: At least Superhuman (Jack can fight for incredibly long periods of time, and has never once shown signs of tiring out, or the need to even sleep or rest outside of needing to heal. The damned souls in Hell can walk for 3 days straight)
Range: Standard Melee Range, Extended Melee Range with weapons, Low Multiversal with abilities (His ability to sense when death will happen in a given specific location would mean he's able to know even from the afterlife that someone is going to die in the living realm, meaning his senses worked across realms. Should have the same powers as Lust, who was able to send telepathic messages to someone in the living realm despite not being there, before travelling to the living realm shortly afterwards)
Standard Equipment: His scythes, sword, Farrago's hand-made scythe (cannot be used with Jack's Weapon Control)
Intelligence: At least Gifted (Is an incredibly skilled fighter, and is rather knowledgeable on how the afterlife works. When Jack was alive, he took over the company who had created him as an experiment, and singlehandedly caused the destruction of all of civilization up until that point in the modern era, to where civilization had to rebuild itself all back from scratch but with anthropomorphic animals instead of humans as a result of the aftermath of the events that conspired)
Weaknesses: Like all other Sins, if he is decapitated, he will be sent back to Hell, but not killed. This is also stated here. However this can be made either hard, if not impossible with his shapeshifting. Additionally, he can return to the same spot literal seconds afterward. Respawning can be directly countered by putting mass within where Jack's respawn point would be, which would permanently keep them suffocating in a wall.
