Summary[]
S-Class Rank 13: Metal Bat. Real name Bad, he is one of the Hero Association's most elite heroes. Bad is headstrong and confident, a formidable hero worthy of his ranking. Hence his alias, he's ready to take on any threat--be it the Hero Hunter Garou or a Dragon level monsters--with his trusty metal bat specially made for him by the Hero Association. His trump card is his Fighting Spirit; broken bones, blood loss, death, all just minor hindrances once Metal Bat gets pumped up.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: High 6-A. High 6-A, potentially High 3-A with Fighting Spirit | 5-C. At least 5-B, likely High 4-C, potentially High 3-A with Fighting Spirit
Key: Monster Raid Arc | Monster Association Arc
Hero Ranking: Neo Leader (formerly S-Class Rank 13 of the Hero Association)
Name: Bad (real name), Metal Bat (Hero name)
Origin: One-Punch Man
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Classification: Human
Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Superhuman Athleticism, Acrobatics, Weapon Mastery (Of his bat), Enhanced Senses (Metal Bat has amazing dynamic vision that allowed him to notice Melzargard's weakness before Puri-Puri Prisoner and Bang could[1]), Statistics Amplification (Gets much stronger and faster upon getting pumped up. Resonance can greatly boost Metal Bat's power if he manages to achieve it with someone), Reactive Power Level (Every time Metal Bat takes attacks and damage while fighting, he gets stronger and faster), Surface Scaling (Climbed up Elder Centipede's carapace), Attack Reflection (Swung a manhole cover back at Garou), Resurrection (Metal Bat said after his fight with Carnage Kabuto in the Virtual Genocide System that, in real life, his fighting spirit would have allowed him to revive and have another go at fighting him, that a death is just a flesh wound), Empowerment (Metal Bat can get stronger through rage[1], which presumably falls under his fighting spirit), Indomitable Will & Pain Suppression (Metal Bat's fighting spirit allows him to power through pain, injury, sleeping gas, and even death. In his fight with Garou, he was fighting through blood loss enough to make him pass out and multiple broken bones), Resistance to Sleep Manipulation (Once he got pumped up, Metal Bat became totally unaffected by Rafflesidon's smell which previously tranquilized him and put Narinki and Waganma to sleep) and Pressure Point Strikes (Forced his way through Garou's Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist which targets joints and vital spots)
Attack Potency: Multi-Continent level (Deflected an attack from Melzargard and can badly damage his heads). Multi-Continent level+ (Became strong enough to one-shot Senior Centipede, who was strong enough to fight him before he got pumped up. He then keeps getting stronger as he fights Garou with each time he takes attacks from him. By the end of their fight, he was strong enough to badly hurt Garou had he landed a clean hit, and his Savage Tornado was strong enough to make Garou's bones shake after deflecting it with the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, which probably makes him stronger than Tanktop Master at this point), potentially High Universe level with Fighting Spirit (When Metal Bat's fighting spirit and rage reach their maximum, his striking power rises to infinity. However, he's yet to reach this "maximum" fighting spirit as far as we know, hence the use of "potentially") | Moon level (Took out four 10k cell Black Sperms). At least Planet level, likely Large Star level (His Overkill Spiral damaged Sage Centipede. While working together and achieving resonance, Metal Bat and Shell Garou boosted each other, allowing the two to counter the 6666 Leg Grand Drill and damage Sage Centipede heavily, shattering his exoskeleton. This resonance made Metal Bat strong enough to hurt him on his own), potentially High Universe level with Fighting Spirit
Speed: At least Massively Hypersonic, possibly FTL (Fought Carnage Kabuto, presumably in Carnage Mode as that was what Zombieman and Darkshine were doing, for 3 minutes despite the VGS not being able to simulate his fighting spirit, impressing Darkshine and Genos with his performance). FTL with Fighting Spirit (Fought Garou) | Massively FTL (Countered a group of Black Sperms before they could react), Massively FTL+ with Fighting Spirit (Caught up to and blocked an attack from Sage Centipede, and later knocked him away at the same speed as Garou, making him comparable to Garou and Platinum Sperm during their 1v1)
Lifting Strength: Unknown. Class G (Some of Garou's attacks couldn't even move him), potentially far higher with Fighting Spirit | Class G (Metal Bat seems to be stronger than he was against Garou). Class P, likely Class Y (Knocked Sage Centipede away alongside Garou), potentially far higher with Fighting Spirit
Striking Strength: Multi-Continent Class. Multi-Continent Class+, potentially High Universal with Fighting Spirit | Moon Class. At least Planet Class, likely Large Star Class, potentially High Universal with Fighting Spirit
Durability: Multi-Continent level (Even while tranquilized, Metal Bat tanked several hits from Senior Centipede who scales to him). Multi-Continent level+ (Grew strong enough to no-sell straight attacks from Garou), potentially High Universe level with Fighting Spirit | Moon level (Tanked hits from four Black Sperms). At least Planet level, likely Large Star level (Tanked a charge from Sage Centipede and later his Centipede Grand March), potentially High Universe level with Fighting Spirit
Stamina: Superhuman (Fought Carnage Kabuto for 3 straight minutes even without the VGS being able to simulate his fighting spirit properly. Fought Senior Centipede, Elder Centipede, and Garou in quick succession while being pressed by all of them, going as far as to keep fighting after being "dead on his feet" according to Garou, although he ended up passing out after the last fight. Thanks to his fighting spirit, it's possible for Metal Bat to fight through through heavy injuries and death)
Range: Extended melee range with his bat. Tens of meters, up to kilometers with shockwaves.
Standard Equipment: A metal bat
Intelligence: Likely Above Average (Though Metal Bat is hotheaded and stubborn, and his fighting style isn't particularly complex, he has his wits about him. Not only was he the first hero to discover Melzargard's weakness even while fighting alongside someone as sharp as Bang, but Metal Bat knows to go for his opponents' weaknesses as soon as possible, as he did with Melzargard and later Elder Centipede by attacking his head. Though unintentionally, Metal Bat was able to hit Sage Centipede with attacks similar in nature to Garou's which allowed the two to achieve resonance and amplification, boosting one another's strength)
Weaknesses: Metal Bat is very reckless, always willing to fight his opponent head-on to until he's out cold.
Note: To clear up potential confusion with Metal Bat and Tanktop Master's scaling, if you've looked at both pages. They go back to each other for scaling, which might seem circular, but basically: Pumped up Metal Bat (End of Garou Fight) > Tanktop Master >(2x)> Garou (Normal punches and durability) > Pumped up Metal Bat (Start of Garou Fight) > Melzargard > Dark Matter ship's durability. Besides that, when exactly MB gets stronger than Garou shouldn't matter much. Also, regardless of whether or not MB's fighting spirit was in effect against Melzargard, he has said that he hasn't gotten as pumped up as he was right before fighting Elder Centipede in a while, making him stronger than he was during the invasion. Makes sense, since he was struggling much more against the Monster Association than he was with Melzargard.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
Killin' Moves: The title that prefaces Metal Bat's signature moves.
- Dragon Pummelin': Metal Bat bludgeons his opponent with his bat, first seen as he targets Elder Centipede's weak spot: his face.
- Savage Tornado: Metal Bat spins around with his bat at such speed that he turns himself into a tornado of attacks. In the right situation and environment, he can literally back his opponent against a wall, which he did while fighting Garou.
- Savage Hurricane: Even stronger than the Savage Tornado. Metal Bat used this in tandem with Garou's Cross Fang Dragon Slayer Fist to inadvertently achieve resonance, allowing the two to damage Sage Centipede's carapace.
- Overkill Spiral: Metal bat launches himself at the target while spinning vertically like a wheel, subsequently attacking as he rotates forward. He used this to free a helicopter from Sage Centipede's antennae, breaking right through them.
