User can sense the thoughts of others. Ordinarily, in fiction, the user hears it just like any normal speech, but there are also instances where they see the thoughts of others, or the rare case where the feel their thoughts.
Some talented users can push so far into the other's subconsciousness, they can uncover long-since forgotten memories from said person. Some users can see it so vividly, that they end up reliving it. Subdivision of Mind Manipulation.
Limitations[]
- May not work on mindless/considered mindless beings (for example corpses, inanimate objects, robots, etc.).
- May be restricted by certain conditions that needs to be fullfilled (for instance, initiating physical contact with the individual whom the user intends to mindread).
- May be unable to "turn off" their power and have to constantly hear thoughts.
- Since the user constantly hears thoughts, this limitation makes mind reading ineffective in large crowds.
- May not be able to read impulsive actions.
- May get overwhelmed by too many thoughts.
- Unless one is multilingual or has the automatic ability to translate and decrypt, ability may not work if the target is thinking in alternate languages or encrypted codes.
- Foes may be able to think of incomprehensible, intense, traumatising, etc. thoughts that might backfire the user's mindreading against them.
