Summary[]
Nnoitra Gilga (ノイトラ・ジルガ, Noitora Jiruga) is an antagonist in the Arrancar saga of BLEACH. He is the Quinto (5th ranked) espada, yet he boasts of being the strongest. His true desire is strength to die in battle, and he shows his suicidal nature throughout his short stint in the series. His relationship with Nelliel is integral to his character, as she is one of the central people in his life. At the end, he meets his match in Kenpachi Zaraki, who gives him that final battle he craved.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: at least 6-A, at least High 6-A with Gran Rey Cero, higher with Resurección: Santa Teresa, far higher with Cero Oscuras, even higher with Resurección: Santa Teresa and Gran Rey Cero
Name: Nnoitra Gilga
Origin: BLEACH
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Classification: Hollow, Arrancar, Espada, Sexta Espada, Soul.
Powers and Abilities: Superhuman physical characteristics, Hollow and Soul Physiology (High tier both, as he is one of the strongest arrancars.), Light Manipulation and Energy Projection (Nnoitra can fire ceros from his own tongue, which are composed of light. He can also interact with them.), Low-Mid Regeneration (Nnoitra can quickly regenerate limbs[Cite 1][Cite 2] if he's not close to death[Cite 3].), Weapon Creation (He can also regenerate swords[Cite 4].), Multiple Limbs (He has four limbs in his Resurección[Cite 1], and can increase the number of limbs to six at will[Cite 2], catching the opponent offguard.), Master Swordsman (Can fight evenly with Kenpachi Zaraki.),
Attack Potency: at least Continent level (The espada are ranked according to their attack potency, making Nnoitra significantly stronger than base Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. This is where his base scaling primarily comes from in this form. Eventhough he's losing against Nelliel at first[Cite 5], he was actually mentally nerfed as this happened, and turned the tide of the fight once he regained his composure[Cite 6]. He is seen clashing evenly with Nelliel after that[Cite 7][Cite 8]. He also clashes with[Cite 9][Cite 10] initial Eyepatch Zaraki, and damages him[Cite 11]. [Statistics Values 1].), at least Multi-Continent level with Gran Rey Cero (This is the strongest variation of an amplified Cero which the espada can use[Cite 12][Cite 13][Cite 14], making it stronger than the Cero oscuras which magnifies attack potency an order of magnitude[Cite 15]. Gran Rey Cero are forbidden inside the palace of Las Noches as they can destroy the entire structure[Cite 16]. Considering Ceros' consistently demonstrated abilities to vaporize and their photonic composition, a conservative estimation suggests that the energy required for this venture can be quantified as this strong[SCALING NOTES 1]. Though the calculated value scales below Nnoitra's, it still supports his rating as it is very close {only a 3.894x difference}, and Nnoitra's Gran Rey Cero is stronger than Grimmjow's. All of this makes the scaling for Gran Rey Cero very consistently in the several Petaton range of power.[Statistics Values 2], higher with Resurección: Santa Teresa (This form upscales from Grimmjow's Resurección due to the espada's ranking system, and it is his primary source of scaling. Initially, he can blocks strikes from and damage[Cite 1] Eyepatch-off Zaraki, when Eyepatch-on Zaraki had already adapted to cutting his hierro and sword itself. After he adapts further, he can clash and trade blows with[Cite 2] Eyepatch-off Zaraki. It got to the point where he was actually about to kill him[Cite 4].[Statistics Values 3].), far higher with Cero Oscuras (As mentioned before, this Cero is a technique which multiplies attack potency by ten times.[Statistics Values 4]), even higher with Resurección: Santa Teresa and Gran Rey Cero (Due to the espada's ranking system, Nnoitra's strongest attack should be stronger than Grimmjow's Desgarron. This attack amplifies AP further than Cero Oscuras, as explained earlier.[Statistics Values 4])
Speed: FTL+ (Should be superior to Base Grimmjow and Post-Grimmjow fight Bankai Ichigo, as he has superior Spiritual Power to Grimmjow through the espada's rankings and can keep up with a version of Bankai Ichigo[Cite 17][Cite 18] that had enough power to block his attacks, so he wasn't injured to a point where his statistics were lowered.[Statistics Values 5])
Lifting Strength: at least Class M, likely far higher: Should be superior to Grimmjow, as he posseses more Spiritual Power.
Striking Strength: at least Continent level (Comparable to his attack potency, as he mostly attacks with physical strikes. Can stab[Cite 19] through Eyepatch Zaraki with his bare hand.), at least Multi-Continent level with Resurección: Santa Teresa (Comparable to his attack potency, as he mostly attacks with physical strikes.[Statistics Values 3])
Durability: at least Continent level (Nnoitra claims to have the hardest hierro out of all the espadas[Cite 11]. Eventhough he often boasts excessively, it is consistently stated that his is the hardest amongst the espadas[Cite 6][Cite 20][Cite 21][Cite 22], and Hierro lets Arrancars resist bladed weaponry through high spiritual pressure hardness[Cite 23]. This means his durability enhancement from Hierro is the best out of all the espadas[SCALING NOTES 2]. Survived a Cero Doble from Nelliel with only moderate injuries[Cite 5][Cite 24], eventhough it doubled her attack power by reflecting his cero with her own[Cite 24], and being directly stated to double everything[Cite 25], implying it did indeed double AP. This means his durability is roughly twice as strong as his attack potency. Bankai Ichigo can't even scratch[Cite 26][Cite 27] Nnoitra when he still has enough stamina to block his attacks. Eventhough they're comparable in attack potency, initial Eyepatch Zaraki can't even scratch his skin[Cite 11].[Statistics Values 6]), at least Multi-Continent level with Resurección: Santa Teresa (Comparable to his attack potency, as he can withstand the force of his own physical strikes.[Statistics Values 3])
Stamina: Superhuman: characters with less Spiritual Power can fight for 5 days at a time, and run for a week straight[SCALING NOTES 3].
Range: Standard Melee range normally, Hundreds of Kilometers with Ceros
Standard Equipment: Zanpakuto, Caja de Negacion.
Intelligence: Average normally, Gifted in battle (Nnoitra is a highly skilled fighter, and a master swordsman.)
Weaknesses: One of his biggest desires is dying in battle, so he can actually tend to be suicidal when battles aren't going his way, insisting on fighting to the death, as this is his ultimate desire.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Resurección (帰刃, Returning Blade | レスレクシオン, Resurrection): this transformation allows Nnoitra to regain his old form as a hollow. It massively increases his statistics.
- Cero (虚閃, Hollow Flash | セロ, cero): this is a powerful spiritual light which hollows make out of their own spiritual pressure.
- Cero Oscuras (黒虚閃, Black Hollow Flash | セロ・オスキュラス, Dark Cero): an enhanced version of a cero which contains an order of magnitude more power.
- Gran Rey Cero (王虚の閃光, King Hollow Flash of light | グラン・レイ・セロ, Grand King Cero): this is the strongest enhanced Cero variation, which causes space to visibly distort around it.
- Hierro (鋼皮, Steel Skin | イエロ, Iron): this is an arrancar's outer layer of skin which boasts high spiritual pressure hardness, capable of warding off Zanpakuto.

Explanations[]
Exact Statistics Values[]
Scaling Explanation notes[]
- ↑ A lowballed 2.00 Petaton calc
- ↑ Nope, this does not mean he has the highest durability to swords out of every espada. If he did, he would have by far the highest level of AP out of all the espadas, as in base, he can harm people who are quantifiably not super far from his own AP. In res, like we'll see later, he also has blatantly comparable AP and Dura, yet his AP is blatantly super far away from the top espadas.
