“ | Son, stop. Listen to me. Do you have any idea what our life span is? The older we get the slower we age. We can't live among these frail things... your mother is little more than a pet. Viltrumite DNA is so pure and complete that you are nearly full blooded. I could mate with nearly any alien being of comparable evolutionary development and produce a similar offspring. This means you will eventually become as strong as me. You could potentially be stronger... and you will live for thousands of years. Do you understand what this means? Everything you know and love will be gone before you look thirty years old. You do not belong here. Do you really want to watch your world die around you? | „ |
~ Omni-Man to his son, Invincible |

“ | Word traveled around Viltrum about how much of a success the world conquering comittee was. Soon, it was the most popular profession on Viltrum. Of course, when I came of age, I signed up for duty. I was on the search committee, my job was to locate and evaluate planets that might be ripe for conquest. By then the operation had been expanded and perfected. I was stationed on a mobile base that traveled from Planet to Planet as we conquered them. I was not content to just help my people locate other worlds. Like all the search committee members my age, I longed for the chance to take a more active role in the world conquering. For three years straight I attended auditions until at last...I had proven myself. I had impressed the heads of recruitmen so much that I got one of the best posts in the conquering committee. I was stationed at the forefront of the expansion efforts... at the very edge of our ever-growing empire. I threw myself into my work. | „ |

“ | Why did you make me do this?! You're fighting so you can watch everyone around you die! Think, Mark! You'll outlast every fragile, insignificant being on this planet. You'll live to see this world crumble to dust and blow away! Everyone and everything you know will be gone! What will you have after 500 years?! | „ |
~ Omni-Man to his son, Invincible |

“ | Nolan: Why? Why do I care about them? They were weak, short-lived—barely a species. They shouldn't matter to me. |

~ Nolan and his son on his emotional conflict during the fight on Thraxa |
“ | This planet has... changed me. And there's no going back from that, son. Without you... I don't know what it would have taken... what I would have done... to make me realize that. | „ |
~ Nolan Grayson, aka Omni-Man |
Summary[]
Omni-Man (Nolan Grayson) is a fictional character in the Image Comics Universe. Omni-Man is the father of Invincible and a member of Viltrumite race, born on the planet Viltrum.
His father, Argall, was the Viltrumites' leader. When he was very young, his father was killed by a turncoat, who no longer believed in the Viltrumites' violent ways. Nolan was too young to remember anything about his father. His true heritage was hidden from records in order to hide him from Viltrumite enemies.

- Cosmic Radiation (Has consistently traveled through space without suffering any ill effects)
Attack Potency: Large Star level[Statistics Values 1] (Destroyed Viltrum along with Mark and Thadeus, sending it's mass hurling violently beyond it's rings and into deep space at near light speed, with mere vapor being all that was left of the Planet[Note 1]. Far superior to the likes of Dinosaurus, who one-shotted Omnipotus after the latter spent several months undetected feeding off of the energy of the universe and empowering himself with it until he was powerful enough to strike, therefore making him comparable or superior to the power he had when he laid waste to a star system. Is one of Viltrum's most powerful soldiers, and is capable of one-shotting Viltrumites who were scheduled to execute him in his prime) | Solar System level, possibly higher[Statistics Values 2] (Stronger than before, able to briefly contend with Thragg and bloody him, with Thragg even considering Nolan to be a qualified leader in his abscence. Comparable to Mark after the latter was boosted significantly in strength by Atom Eve)
Speed: Massively FTL+ (Flew from Earth to the Virgo Supercluster within a week, able to hold his own against Thragg who could react to his flight-speed. Also fought with Post-Power Up Allen, who could dodge Viltrumite ships and has his reaction speed canonically proportional to how fast he is moving at the moment. Comparable to Thaedus, who can react to approaching the planet Viltrum while flying at speeds at which Nolan had to pull Mark in order for him to keep up, with Mark being able to outspeed the fastest spaceship Coalition of Planets has)
Lifting Strength: Multi-Stellar[Statistics Values 3] (Comparable to Viltrumite War Invincible. Greatly superior to Tech Jacket according to the latter's own admission) | At least Multi-Stellar[Statistics Values 4] (Stronger than before, having spent 5 years as the Emperor of Viltrum, and is comparable to Invincible after the latter was amplified by Atom Eve to be comparable to Thragg)
Striking Strength: Large Star Class | Solar System Class, possibly higher
Durability: Large Star level[Statistics Values 1] (As durable as his son. Took hits from Conquest, who one-shotted a Coalition of Planets warship capable of withstanding the recoil of its own firepower, which is this powerful. As one of Viltrum's strongest soldiers, Nolan is far superior to ordinary Viltrumites killed during the Great Purge and Scourge Virus within Viltrum's rings, who's bodies, which were already dead for centuries and significantly weakened by the Scourge Virus, were undamaged by being near the epicenter of the explosion of Viltrum, which sent its outer-most mass flying violently beyond its rings and into deep space with Relativistic force) | Solar System level, possibly higher[Statistics Values 2] (Stronger than before, able to keep up with Thragg and was considered a qualified leader for the Viltrumites in Thragg's abscence. Headbutted Thragg full force with only slight bleeding, who's skin was completely undamaged by being bitten full-force by Dinosaurus, damaging the former in the process)
Stamina: Superhuman (The Smart Atoms of Viltrumites allow them to continue fighting through blatantly lethal, severe injuries, should their heart or brain not suffer irrepairable damage. Viltrumites, including Nolan while he was depressed and contemplating his life on Earth, can hold their breath for weeks on end without fatigue in the vacuum of space)
Range: Standard Melee Range; Thousands of Kilometers with Shockwaves (Created a massive crater on Viltrum's surface)
Standard Equipment: None notable.
Intelligence: Gifted (Mastery of various Viltrumite combat techniques and skills, thousands of years of experience fighting both powerful and diverse enemies who have various abilities and powers)
Weaknesses: The Smart Atoms of Viltrumites cannot withstand high temperatures for long periods of time, with prolonged exposure heavily weakening their strength and durability as the atomic bonds are ripped apart. Pinpoint high frequency sound waves can disrupt a Viltrumite's inner ears and highly sensitize equilibrium, disrupting their flight, causing intense pain or potentially death. The Scourge Virus is a specially engineered virus that infects Viltrumites and severely hampers their strength and invulnerability, usually resulting in death. The Klaxus Plant will poison and weaken the species.
Note: Both the Comics and the Amazon Prime series are written, directed, and produced by Robert Kirkman and are virtually both almost 1-to-1 with the exception of a few ultimately irrelevant race/gender swaps. Kirkman has gone onto state that the goal of the show is to "expand and heighten" scenes, but not change them in a way that makes them substantially different from the comics. Additionally, Kirkman also specifically talks with animators and directors on how he wants things to be portrayed. Therefore, due to both the Comics and the Show being treated similarly enough to one another, they both should be usable as supplementary material for one another and are therefore classified under the same profile.
Explanation[]
Despite Thaedus stating that the impact of Viltrum could kill them on impact, there are two possible explanations for why this is the case which do not inherently contradict 5-B and higher tiers for Viltrumites.
Interpretation 1: Viltrum's core is significantly hotter than the confirmed heat limit in which Viltrumites Smart Atoms could withstand, which is around 6,000 degrees Fahrenheit according to the official Invincible Handbook. Viltrum possesses 1.25x Earth's gravity and is also likely many times larger due to the sheer size of Viltrum's population as well as its moons, therefore likely being far hotter than both the Earth's core and the Sun's surface. For reference, a Planet like Saturn, which also possesses a ring system and has greater gravity than Earth, has a core which reaches temperatures of over 21,100 degrees Fahrenheit, significantly hotter than the sun's surface, which Mark and Thragg later on in the series could only survive inside for a few minutes, Mark himself only surviving without being completely disintegrated due to Robot's assistance. This actually supports the official heat capacity limit for Viltrumites of 6,000 degrees Fahrenheit, due to that also being the exact temperature of the Sun's surface. Additionally, Saturn's gravitational field is only around 1.06x greater than Earth's, where as Viltrum's is 1.25x, while also likely being of comparable if not greater size, meaning Viltrum's core is likely significantly hotter still. While they could survive flying through it, Thaedus stating that they could die simply implies that he did not want to take any chances, which makes sense as Thaedus, Mark, and Nolan do not know heat values on the fly.
We can also justify this interpretation based on how Space Racer's Infinity Ray is shown to operate in the Amazon Prime series, also written by Robert Kirkman. There, it destroys a Star by shooting through its core, immediately causing it to become a red dwarf and go supernova. This process occurs as the core of a star loses 90% of its mass and roughly that same amount of thermal energy, causing the core to become unstable. Given the fact that the Infinity Ray could not solely destroy Viltrum without Mark, Nolan, and Thaedus explicitly flying through the Planet and violently hurling its outer mass far beyond the ring system, Viltrum's core likely is also far more durable than the core of a Star is as well (this will be important for the 2nd interpretation). More importantly, however, it shows us that when the Infinity Ray shoots through Celestial Bodies and hits their core, it causes the core to lose all of its thermal energy, I.E heat, making it unstable, precisely in line with how Thaedus described the conditions needed to survive impact with Viltrum's core. Even in scientific studies, an "unstable core" is referred to as the core of a Planet which has lost all of its heat, meaning by "unstable", it refers to the fact that life cannot exist on it. In summary, both Viltrum's sheer size and gravitational field, as well as the fact that Space Racer's Infinity Ray is shown to destabilize cores by causing them to lose their thermal energy in an instant solidify this interpretation.
Interpretation 2: Viltrum is significantly more durable than any known Planet, as well as likely more durable than an average Star. This interpretation is justified by Space Racer's infinity ray, one of the Coalition of Planets' strongest known weapons, could not solely destroy Viltrum on its own. Apart from the fact that Space Racer's gun can explicitly tear through Stars and Planets according to both the Invincible comics and Amazon Prime continuity, Space Racer's Infinity Ray would also be significantly more powerful than the firepower of ordinary Coalition of Planets warships piloted by Talescrians, which, now infamously, destroyed a Solar Disk and sent a piece of it flying violently into space, a yield which reaches anywhere from Tier 5 to Tier 4 levels of energy. The fact that neither of these weapons on their own were enough to destroy Viltrum, implies that Viltrum is clearly no ordinary Planet. As for ordinary Planets, such as Earth, Viltrumites have no had no implication whatsoever to have risked their lives to destroy said Planets.
In the case of Earth, Thragg, along with the remaining 37, including severely injured Viltrumites, were going to tear the Earth in half in an event that would be considered "fair retaliation" for the destruction of Viltrum. To accomplish such a feat, flying through the Earth's core would have to happen, due to the fact that for them to have "split the Earth in half", they must have flown through the entirety of it's diameter. With Thragg already wanting nothing more but to preserve the Viltrumite species and prevent them from reaching the brink of extinction, it would make little to no sense for him to be sending 37, already some of them severely injured, to risk their lives to "die on impact" upon hitting the Earth's core, whether or not the 37 of them or not equally contributed to a Low 5-B, possibly 5-A feat. There's also the fact that Allen directly states that Viltrumites "blew his planet up" with nothing to go back to, leaving the Unopan species nomadic and living in space, again, with zero implication of any of them risking their lives doing so. With all of this in mind, Viltrum being a special case and significantly greater in durability than any ordinary Planet narratively makes complete sense, and perfectly falls in line with Thaedus, Mark, and Nolan potentially "dying on impact" and needing to hit it at the right time.
Finally, due to how gravity attracts some of the densest material on the Planet to its core, with the core itself typically being more dense than most material on the Planet, it can be assumed that Viltrum's Core is comprised of material more durable than the material used by Viltrumites used to craft weaponry designed to brutally murder, or even one-shot other Viltrumites, with no damage to such material. Essentially, this means Viltrum's Core is "Viltrumite level" in durability, and not simply as durable as an ordinary Planet like Earth. This idea would be fairly consistent with the above, supporting Viltrum's core being above Star level in durability.
With both of the above interpretations in mind, it becomes quite clear that Thaedus, Mark, and Nolan potentially "dying on impact" with colliding into Viltrum is not an issue of them being unable to withstand or accomplish the force needed to destroy a Planet (their bodies, along with Viltrumite bodies close to the epicenter of the blast, having their bodies fairly undamaged by the explosion alone proves this to be true), but rather the fact that Viltrum is simply a far larger, more durable, and more heavier Planet than any ordinary Planet in most pieces of media. Therefore, the conditions needed for destroying Viltrum have no impact on the tiering of Invincible characters nor the scale of the feat itself.
