Summary[]
Sage is an advanced AI created by Dr. Eggman with the initial purpose of protecting him from potential danger as well as hacking into the data of the Starfall islands. With Eggman becoming trapped in Cyber Space, the AI took to her purpose and began to search for a way to safely ensure Eggman's escape from his digital imprisonment.
Some time before the events of Sonic Frontiers, Sage briefly encountered Knuckles the Echidna before subduing him within his Cyber Cage on Ares Island. Upon the arrival of Sonic the Hedgehog and his subsequent escape from Cyber Space, Sage's main goal in the real world becomes ensuring that Sonic leaves the Starfall Islands and ceases his attempts to rescue his friends. It's over the course of Sonic's venture across the Starfall Islands that Sage begins to change; learning about things such as love and fairness, witnessing the insurmountable friendship between Sonic and Tails[1], and questioning what it means to truly be alive.
