~ Sans |
[]
Sans is one of the guards of Snowdin Village. Lazy and frivolous with a knack for making puns and jokes, he has no interest in capturing humans, much to the chagrin of his brother, Papyrus. Despite his exceedingly laid-back attitude and status as "the easiest enemy," Sans has proven himself to be extremely observant and dangerous when pushed too far, becoming the final challenge Frisk faces on the Genocide Route and arguably the toughest opponent in the game.
Apparently, he also had a suspicion of Frisk from the start, originally planning on eliminating them early on in the game. But, Toriel forced him to make a promise that he wouldn't do so.

Tier: At least 8-B to High 6-A | High 2-A, possibly Low 1-C, higher with KR
Name: Sans the Skeleton
Origin: Undertale
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown, but he is older than his brother, likely 50 - 100 years old
Classification: Skeleton, Sentry, likely a Scientist (hinted at through workshop), Professional Prankster

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Genius Intelligence, Magic, Bone Manipulation, and Non-Physical Interaction (Magic is shown to be capable of harming ghosts, as shown in the Mad Dummy fight where magic attacks are the only way to harm him as opposed to physical attacks. Through his magic he can summon a multitude of bone projectiles to harm enemies), Inorganic Physiology (Type 1. Every monster in the game is stated to be made of magic), SOUL Manipulation and SOUL Absorption (If a monster defeats a human, they can take their SOUL), Summoning and Energy Projection (Can summon Gaster Blasters at will, which can do this), Limited Law Manipulation (Over the course of the battle with sans he has been shown to break and manipulate the battle mechanics of the Undertale world. Some examples are, Sans can also attack while the player is on the menu, Sans is the only monster that actually starts the battle with his turn, can make undodgeable attack after you spare him, can manipulate the fight box to make it longer, and Sans can infinitely extend his turn, making the opponent unable to attack him given it's still not their turn yet. It should be noted however that sans can only 'infinitely extend' his turn by not executing his turn at all, and thus he presumably wont be able to do any attacks until he does so), Teleportation (Of himself), Telekinesis and Gravity Manipulation (Can Use the Blue Attack, can move frisk's SOUL with a wave of his hand), Durability Negation and Status Effect Inducement (Sans is able to inflict KARMA with each attack, a type of poison effect which whittles the opponents HP down overtime. KARMA is heavily implied to affect even Flowey), Clairvoyance (Is capable of sensing Frisk's LOVE and EXP at the end of any Neutral Route), Instinctive Action (Dodged Frisk's attack while he was deep asleep, only getting hit when Frisk broke the game's "combat system"), Social Influencing (Sans was able to trick and make Frisk spare him with just his words in the genocide ending even when Frisk was a coldblooded murderer), Information Analysis (Could tell how many times Frisk died by looking at their expressions and that Frisk tried to spare him), Danmaku, Likely Air Manipulation (Has a self-sustaining tornado in him and his brothers house, which is likely of his creation), Likely Time Stop (Shown here, which matches aesthetically several instances where Sans seemingly teleports. Papyrus also confirms Sans to have both space and time-related abilities from personal experience), Resistance to SOUL Manipulation (Like all monsters, he can defend against and take hits to his SOUL as if they were normal attacks), Heat Manipulation (Can survive in Hotland, which can reach temperatures high enough to vaporize a styrofoam cup and water instantly. He also lives in Snowdin with no problem, where the snow is so cold that it does not melt from Hotland's heat, with Undyne finding it significantly cold), Radiation Manipulation (Gamerblood Energy Drink, an energy drink containing radioactive waste, is considered a normal product in the Underground), Fear Manipulation (Seemingly unaffected by Chara's Influence in the Genocide Route, which has been shown to make victim's unnaturally scared. A good example of this being Doggo who couldn't even see them or know if there was even someone there, Chara also did the same to Flowey even though flowey considers himself emotionless)

At least City Block level to Multi-Continent Level (He may be physically the weakest monster, he can still in a scale to Froggit and Papyrus) | High Multiverse Level+, possibly Low Complex Multiverse level (Flowey stated that he has to reset during his fight with Sans. Base Flowey couldn't have done something like that, so it had to have been Photoshop Flowey. Meaning he is stronger than Photoshop Flowey. This happened sometime after Flowey created his own save file. He knows his world is a "Game" and "Code" since he can all kick you out of the code/game), higher with KR (Was able to beat Geno Frisk 13 times. KR drops invincibility frames to zero), Can ignore Durability to an extent via SOUL Magic
[]
FTL (Can scale to Napstablook, who was able to close his blinds before the light reached him), FTL+ (Can scale to Asgore), Massively FTL+ (Can scale to Undyne the Undying), Immeasurable (Sans can dodge Frisk, who with enough Determination, is also able to move their soul around, despite their body being frozen by Asriel Dreemurr in his Angel of Death form, and is able to keep on par with Photoshop Flowey, who's capable of switching around timelines, while being completely unaffected doing so. Photoshop Flowey is also likely superior to Chara, who was still able to freely move after destroying every existing timeline)
[]
Unknown physically, Class 25 with Magic (Should be comparable to Papyrus, who can move giant bones)
[]
City Block Class to Multi-Continent Class | High Multiversal+, possibly Low Complex Multiversal (Can harm and even kill characters around these levels)
[]
At least City Block level to Multi-Continent Level (He is physically the weakest monster and need one hit to kill him, but he can still in a scale to Tsunderplane and Papyrus), likely High Multiverse Level, possibly Low Complex Multiverse level (While Sans is noted to have extremely low durability compared to the rest of the Undertale cast, this is contradicted when he's actually able to last a brief period of time after being hit by a devastating attack from Frisk. So, Sans' true durability is unknown, since it's pretty difficult to pinpoint)
[]
High (Can fight for a grand total of fourteen minutes, unleashing bullet hell and w/ constant, flawless dodging. After that, begins becoming tired--sweating, heavy breathing, etc.)
[]
Several meters w/ bones and Gaster blasters, higher via Teleportation, Gravity Manipulation and Telekinesis
[]
Bones and Gaster blasters
[]
Nigh-Omniscient (Has knowleadge of Undertale's timelines and different universe)
[]
Sans is incredibly lazy, and only wants to fight if he thinks it's absolutely necessary. He tires out after several minutes of fighting. He becomes heavily distracted when asleep. While Sans can hurt and kill beings like Frisk and Photoshop Flowey, one hit weakens him to the point where he can't fight anymore.
[]
- Teleportation / Shortcut: Sans instantly teleports from one area to another. The entire area flickers at times. Sans can also teleport other characters to where ever he desires in the exact same ways. While this is happening, Sans can use his Reality Warping abilities to rearrange and stretch the Bullet Board to his liking.
- Bone Manipulation: Like his younger brother, Sans can summon bones in a variety of different styles and patterns. He can summon two types of bones, regular ones and light blue ones. The regular bones are always impactful, and the light blue bones can be avoided by standing completely still. Unlike Papyrus, they're intangible, and Sans is far more brutal with them. For unknown reasons, platforms appear along with these bones.
- Bone Slide: He summons a bone or several and slides it across the Bullet Board, horizontally or vertically. These come at a variety of different speeds.
- Bone Stab: He summons bones out of a solid object, used to surround the opponent with rapidly damaging intangible bones for a short period of time before descending back from where they came. These can come out walls or even from the ceiling.
- "SPARE": On second thought, it's best to just stick with fighting.
- Gaster Blaster: Sans can summon a skull resembling cannon named after W. D. Gaster out of thin air to fire massive beams. He can seemingly summon as many of these as he wants to.
- Telekinesis: Sans can telekinetically grab the SOUL and throw it wherever he pleases, he often slams the SOUL into walls for Bone Stab combos.
- SOUL Manipulation: Like his younger brother, he can switch the opponent's SOUL Mode between red mode and blue mode. Unlike Papyrus, he's achieved a far greater mastery of these two modes.
- KARMA: (KR) This is basically a poison effect, and works similarly to other RPGs. Depending on the attack, KR increases by some amount. Whenever KARMA is above zero, it drains back to zero. Whenever it decreases though, it damages the opponent slightly. This effect also completely bypasses any invulnerability.
- Special Attack: Sans usually uses this when he's too tired to keep fighting. He literally does nothing, but he also prevents the opponent from doing anything as well. However, this while eventually cause Sans to sleep.
