Character Stats and Profiles Wiki

In the past, we have encouraged users to create new pages for powers and abilities they thought the wiki lacked. However, as of now, we want new pages to be approved by the staff, meaning that new powers and abilities pages must be suggested. This can be done in our official Discord server in the suggestion channel, or messaged to a staff member. Of course, users can always create blogs about powers and abilities to include in their profiles if they don't want to attempt creating official pages. Linking to other wikis' powers and abilities pages is also permitted.

Leave Grundy ALONE!
~ Solomon Grundy

Summary[]

Cyrus Gold was a notorious gangster in Gotham City who was unfortunate enough to find himself taken off guard by rival gangsters who shot him to death. These gangsters placed a curse on his corpse and dumped him in Slaughter Swamp, which was enchanted long ago by strange magic. These magics mixed and created, from Gold's corpse, the hulking Solomon Grundy, a soulless zombie wielding titanic strength. Grundy would be recruited to the side of evil and find himself battling the Justice League on many occasions.

Powers and Stats[]

Tier: High 6-A to 5-B | At least High 6-A to 5-B, likely far higher | At least High 6-A to 5-B, likely far higher

Key: Base | Post-Resurrection | Post-Resurrection (Energy Absorbed)

Name: Cyrus Gold, known as Solomon Grundy

Origin: The DC Animated Universe

Gender: Male

Age: Seems to be about 100 at the time of his death

Classification: Zombie, Member of the Injustice Gang

Powers and Abilities:

In his resurrected forms, he wields all his prior abilities as well as:

Attack Potency: Multi-Continental to Planet Level (Can keep JL Season 1 Superman off his feet and give him pause, though when this Superman is more prepared he's depicted as savagely pummeling Grundy into unconsciousness and is referred to as being so strong that Grundy is "no match" for him. During "The Terror Beyond," is somewhat capable of scrapping with JL Season 2 Superman, who's been restored to his proper strength level, even putting him in a hold and knocking him away with attacks - however, the fact that Superman is overtly totally unhurt by his attacks, strongly implies he's holding back out of sympathy for Grundy, refers to Pre-Resurrection Grundy as "not having a chance" against him, and during "Wake the Dead" is able to show low-end relativity to a far more powerful Grundy than was in "Terror Beyond," makes me conclude he shouldn't really scale to a full-strength Superman. Slammed Martian Manhunter back with a palm strike, knocked him off his feet by charging through stone, is thought of by Superman as "as strong" as J'onn, and knocked him out cold with a weapon strike to the head. Regarded as "tough" by Green Lantern, who at the time only knew of his pre-resurrection state. Killed Icthultu, albeit by attacking him from the inside. Referred to by promotional material as having "the muscle to crush any of our heroes" - though we know this isn't necessarily true of Superman, we have no reason to assume the statement is *entirely* invalid - ergo, this statement implies he could harm or even defeat the likes of Martian Manhunter or Wonder Woman in a bare-knuckle brawl. Ripped a tank in half. Rent a huge section of the ground by punching it. Destroyed a large truck with a ground pound. Threw rocks with enough force to destroy tanks and threw a metal dumpster with enough force to destroy a car. Smashed a desk and charged through a stone wall. Punched Superman so hard it created a large crater in stone) | At least Multi-Continental to Planet Level, likely far higher (Stated by Doctor Fate to be far more powerful than he had ever been while "alive." Caught Superman's punch and made him yell in pain by crushing his hand, knocked him away with a punch, and temporarily rendered him unable to fight. Broke Green Lantern's construct apart and generally treated him as an afterthought throughout the entire episode. Broke Vixen's arm with a single attack) | At least Multi-Continental to Planet Level, likely far higher (Even stronger than before due to absorbing energy from AMAZO, and continued to singlehandedly overwhelm Superman, Doctor Fate, Green Lantern, etc)

Speed: Relativistic (Capable of tagging Martian Manhunter, landing attacks on JL Season 1 Superman, and keeping up to some extent with a suppressed JL Season 2 Superman, who even while holding back keeps up with his fellow leaguers and villains comparable to them. Caught a thrown Batarang out of the air at close range), possibly MFTL+ (It's possible that Lanterns' travel speed scales to their combat speed, though personally I've never seen any arguments for that which were nearly compelling enough for me to claim it's definitive) | FTL, possibly MFTL+ (Caught a punch from a serious Superman. Posed a threat to Superman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Vixen, and Doctor Fate all at the same time) | FTL, possibly MFTL+ (Tagged a serious Superman), though he got substantially slower after Hawkgirl's Nth metal disturbed the magic that animated him, to the point that Hawkgirl (who is far slower than Superman) could soundly outmanuever him.

Lifting Strength: Class M (Ripped a tank in half. Threw a small-building-sized boulder at Superman. Threw rocks at tanks with enough force to destroy them, and threw and flipped said tanks soon after. Tossed a huge duck statue at Superman. Can throw cars, huge metal dumpsters, a truck, and huge slabs of rock. Lifted a stone monument and used it as a weapon), possibly higher (Kept Superman in a hold, though whether or not that’s a consistent showing is up for debate) | At least Class M, far higher (Temporarily overpowered Superman, making him yell in pain as Grundy began to crush his hand. Flexed out of Green Lantern's restraint, causing a massive shockwave. Moved an entire building with ease. Tossed a bus across a tremendous distance. Casually overpowered Aquaman. Threw a large boulder at Green Lantern, knocking him away. Lifted two cars, using them as weapons to attack Superman with. Effortlessly lifted a car) | At least Class M, far higher (Even stronger than before due to absorbing energy from AMAZO)

Striking Strength: Multi-Continent Class to Planet Class | At least Multi-Continent Class to Planet Class, likely higher | At least Multi-Continental to Planet Level, likely higher

Durability: Multi-Continental to Planet Level (Should be capable of withstanding his own physical might as per Newton's Third Law. Took some attacks from Martian Manhunter, and survived being pummeled by JL Season 1 Superman while he was using enough strength to clearly overpower Grundy. Survived a mace swing from Hawkgirl despite the fact that her Nth metal should do extra damage to him via affecting the magic that animates him. Despite the fact that “Terror Beyond” shows him being knocked out by an impact that was only potent enough to produce a small mushroom cloud (being calc'd at about 400 kilotons) the consistency with which he scales to the verse’s many >>> Town Level feats makes this easy to dismiss as an outlier. Survived being tossed across a city. No-sold a bazooka round) | At least Multi-Continental to Planet Level, likely far higher (Again, scales to his own physical might. Took hits from a serious Superman. Blasts from Green Lantern only annoyed him during "Wake the Dead." Was completely unhurt by a bodyslam from Vixen while she used her elephant power. Was totally unaffected by a huge explosion) | At least Multi-Continental to Planet Level, likely far higher (Again, scales to his own physical might. Took more hits from Superman. Completely no-sold a continuous blast from a furious Green Lantern. No-sold a huge statue falling on him)

Stamina: At least Athletic, possibly Infinite in all keys (Is shown to be capable of engaging in somewhat long battles, but his status as a zombie may mean he doesn't build up lactic acid or tire in the same way humans do)

Range: Standard Melee Range

Standard Equipment: None Notable

Intelligence: Below Average (Is only capable of basic speech and reasoning), and in his second and third keys his Intelligence lessens, being reduced to Animalistic.

Standard Tactics: As per his low intelligence, charges his foe and attacks all-out at the first opportunity.

Weaknesses: Nth metal can disrupt the magic that animates him. Is incredibly slow-witted.

Note: Bruce Timm has stated that the original DCAU tie-in comics are not canon, with the only tie in comics that have statements to the contrary (other than Batman: The Adventures Continue, which has so many continuity issues that it's essentially impossible to argue it's canon) being Justice League Infinity, the Batman and Harley Quinn tie in comics, and specifically the first annual of Batman Adventures. Ergo, I only consider those three comics canon.
