Sonic the Hedgehog is the main protagonist in the 2020 self-titled CGI/live-action film developed by Paramount Films. He is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who lived in the Green Hill Zone as a child under the guidance of Longclaw but eventually had to leave due to the Echidnas hunting him down for his power.
He remained in hiding on Earth for years, living a life he considered lonely until he caused everyone's power in the entire Pacific Northwest to go out from a surge caused by his volatile emotions mixed with abnormal power. That event kickstarted the main events of the first film, where he is accompanied by Tom Wachowski, a small-town sheriff, and his new friend, to get his rings back and hide once again. Along the way, he becomes determined to save the planet from the evil Dr. Robotnik.
