Character Stats and Profiles Wiki

In the past, we have encouraged users to create new pages for powers and abilities they thought the wiki lacked. However, as of now, we want new pages to be approved by the staff, meaning that new powers and abilities pages must be suggested. This can be done in our official Discord server in the suggestion channel, or messaged to a staff member. Of course, users can always create blogs about powers and abilities to include in their profiles if they don't want to attempt creating official pages. Linking to other wikis' powers and abilities pages is also permitted.

You bunch with your little game of 'Let's pretend to fight for justice' can't win against a truly strong opponent, nor can you protect anything.
~ Sonic to Genos, his view on heroes

... In the increasingly intense fights to save humanity that lie ahead, you want help from people both good and bad who know how to fight. Does that sum it up? Well, I refuse. The thought of playing hero with you losers nauseates me. I'm leaving.
~ Sonic to Sitch

"That Man" has awakened.
He's after your head.
Running will do you no good.
It's time to settle the score.
Come to my hideout, I await you alone.
At the place where childish dreams are seen.
~ Sonic's message to Flashy Flash

I have a dream for the future. I'm going to climb to the top of management and take over the village. I'm going to destroy the organizational structure... and raise orphans who had the same circumstances as us in a more free and open environment. Assassination techniques are useless for anything but killing people. What I think has true value... is the power to live life as you please. We don't have that right now.
~ Sonic's dream as he told it to Flash

Summary[]

44th Graduation Class: The End. Lone survivor: Speed-o'-Sound Sonic. He was one of the many young men who had their lives ripped away by the Ninja Village and its brutal regime, but ever since the village was destroyed, he set off on his own as a ninja for hire. He made a living working as a mercenary and a body guard, that is until one day, after taking down a group of protesters known as the Paradisers, he came across an unremarkable-looking man called Saitama. To Sonic, though, this man was different; he managed to see through Sonic's attacks and defeated him in humiliating fashion. Sonic took this encounter as an affront to his pride, so he focused on training to surpass Saitama, declaring himself his rival.

Sonic was friends with the S-Class hero Flashy Flash when they were younger. Unlike Flash, whose memories of the outside world keep his sense of self supported, Sonic was born and raised in the Ninja Village. Still, to him, assassination techniques are good for nothing but killing. It's said that those with dead emotions are the village's top performers. Well, Sonic and Flash found themselves in Squad 5, the category of "failure."

Sonic was a rebel, offering advice to his fellow ninja even when there was nothing in it for him. He had a dream. One day, he'll start his own village governed by what truly matters: the freedom to live as one pleases, in the place where childish dreams are seen.

Powers and Stats[]

Tier: 8-A | 7-B, higher with equipment | High 6-A | At least 5-B, likely High 4-C

Key: Paradise Group Arc | Seafolk Arc | Blizzard Group Arc | Ninja Arc

Name: Speed-o'-Sound Sonic (Ninja call sign, real name unknown), simply known as Sonic. According to Saitama, his name is: Joints-o'-Pain Panic (Jack-o'-Lantern Panic in the anime), Seed-on-the-Ground, Lost-and-Found

Origin: One-Punch Man

Gender: Male

Age: 25

Classification: Human, Ninja

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Superhuman Athleticism, Acrobatics, Water Walking, Genius Intelligence, Accelerated Development (Surpassed Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame despite previously thinking that no amount of training could make them as fast as they were), Aura (Fubuki said that Sonic just standing there radiates combat skill), Stealth Mastery (Stole Sitch's papers without him or any heroes noticing anything at all), Weapon Mastery (Of his sword, shuriken, and kunai), Unpredictability (Sonic is audacious and unpredictable[1]), Indomitable Will (Despite living in according to the Ninja Village's training program since birth, he kept his mind from becoming just another cog in the machine), Pressure Point Strikes (Dislocated a prisoner's shoulder and immobilized another with a double-arm lock), Afterimage Creation (With the Funeral techniques, which he debuted in the Blizzard Group Arc. Attacked Empty Void with several afterimages), Explosion Manipulation (With his Exploding Shuriken), Illusion Creation (Made it look and sound like Deep Sea King crushed him, when he actually escaped his grip), Homing Attack (Ninja Arc; At this point he possesses Homing Exploding Shuriken), Adaptation & Resistance to: Death Manipulation, Mind Manipulation & Power Nullification (Hellfire Flame says that people from the Ninja Village should be able to fully resist the downsides of monsterization via monster cells, so someone like Sonic should have the same resistances as Gouketsu along with the ability to adapt to the monsterization), Illusion Creation, Emotional Manipulation & Transmutation (Broke out of the illusion he was placed in by God's cube, which relies on the emotional dependencies in your heart to trick you. Sonic didn't fall for God's trickery and avoided being turned into a monster)

Attack Potency: Multi-City Block level (Damaged Hammerhead's suit and casually pierced into his skull with his kunai) | City level (Started training in order to surpass Saitama. Toyed with dehydrated Deep Sea King and considered his own attacks to be the strongest while fighting him), higher with equipment (Said he would kill hydrated Deep Sea King after retrieving his gear) | Multi-Continent level (He may well have defeated G4 Genos with his Scattered Flash Slash combined with the Fourfold Funeral, as Saitama moved Genos out of the way and opted to fight Sonic himself. The Hero Encyclopedia also says Sonic would have crushed Genos with his finishing blow[2]) | At least Planet level, likely Large Star level (Fought on equal footing with Flashy Flash and impressed him with his strength that was worthy of Flash's ultimate techniques)

Speed: Supersonic (Moved faster than Hammerhead could perceive. Then, while fighting Saitama, he sped up to the point he broke the sound barrier and thought Saitama wouldn't be able to see him anymore) | At least Massively Hypersonic, possibly FTL (He was much faster than Deep Sea King, and Sonic considered his own attacks to be the fastest while fighting him before he was hydrated. Blitzed Genos) | FTL (Fought Genos for some time and dodged his attacks repeatedly), higher with Fourfold Funeral (Dodged Genos' Machine Gun Blow with ease. This is a technique where Sonic's speed and movements result in 4 afterimages that attack his opponent simultaneously), FTL+ with Tenfold Funeral (The same technique as Fourfold Funeral but much faster, stepped up to 10 afterimages) | Massively FTL+, possibly Immeasurable, higher with Funeral techniques (Caught up to Tatsumaki and dodged her attacks; Tatsumaki can fight Psykos. Kept up with Flashy Flash. Probably dodged Empty Void's Dimension Slash like Flash did, as his lower body was intact while Blast transported Sonic's upper body to another dimension. Almost hit Void with his kunai before Blast could react; although Blast managed to knock it away just in time, the attack still happened right in front of him and came close to landing anyway, implying it was considerably fast, even seeming to fare better than Void's own sneak attack with the light spheres. Reacted to the Dimension Slash alongside Flashy Flash and Blast)

Lifting Strength: Unknown | Class M (The Stink Slammer has prisoners with monstrous strength able to pry open iron bars. Despite that, Sonic casually dislocated a member's shoulder and locked another in a double-arm lock. Forced Deep Sea King's mouth shut, causing him to bite off his tongue) | At least Class M (Stronger than before) | At least Class T, at most Class P to Class Y (Clashed evenly with Flashy Flash)

Striking Strength: Multi-City Block Class | City Class, higher with equipment | Multi-Continent Class | At least Planet Class, likely Large Star Class

Durability: Multi-City Block level | City level | Multi-Continent level (Took Saitama's Serious Sideways Jumps which may be stronger than the Moon Jump; not only was that a "normal" jump as opposed to an actual offensive maneuver that's a part of the Serious Series, but this is a much stronger Saitama as well) | At least Planet level, likely Large Star level (Tanked Flashy Flash's Flash Kicks and Flash Fist)

Stamina: Superhuman (Sonic once trained in the Ninja Village. One day in the village lasts 72 hours, only 6 of which were for sleep. Students spent every day living as machines that did nothing but learn techniques for killing. Sonic sometimes sneaks out at night, implying he could go with even less than the allotted 6 hours of sleeping)

Range: Standard melee range. Extended melee range with Ninjatō. At least hundreds of meters with Exploding Shuriken and kunai.

Standard Equipment: Ninjatō (his sword), (Homing) Exploding Shuriken, Kunai

Intelligence: Genius (Sonic grew up in the Ninja Village and has honed his skills since childhood. A ninja trained in the Ninja Village is a first-class assassin. Fubuki said that Sonic while just standing there radiates combat skill. He was skilled enough to fight on par with ninja possessing genius level ability like Flashy Flash. When he was younger, he claimed to be a genius)

Weaknesses: He sometimes toys with opponents he doesn't deem much of a threat, flexes his speed, and regularly mocks the people he fights.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Full Frontal Attack: Sonic takes a stance then dashes at his opponent with his intense speed to deliver some sort of attack.
  • Wind Blade Kick: A technique also used by his fellow ninjas, like Flashy Flash. It sees Sonic deliver a powerful kick using the momentum of the front flip he does to start the attack.
  • Exploding Shuriken: One of Sonic's most used techniques, it sees him throw one or multiple shuriken that explode upon hitting the target.
    • Hail of Carnage: Sonic ravages the surrounding area by throwing a hail of Exploding Shuriken in many directions
    • Homing Exploding Shuriken: An upgraded form of the Exploding Shuriken that includes the ability to home in on its target.
    • Exploding Shuriken Ferocious Barrage: A barrage of Homing Exploding Shuriken.
  • Fourfold Funeral: A technique Sonic has developed through rigorous training. His movements and speed allow him to create multiple afterimages, in this case 4 afterimages, that perfectly resemble him. He can combine this technique with other offensive ones to attack his opponent multiple times simultaneously.
    • Scattered Flash Slash: Used in tandem with the Fourfold Funeral, Sonic's afterimages attacked Genos at the same time with his sword.
    • Ninefold Funeral: The Funeral technique stepped up to 9 afterimages. He combined this with the Wind Blade Kick to attack Flashy Flash in their deathmatch.
    • Tenfold Funeral: Sonic's ultimate secret technique that sees him create 10 afterimages, used in one of his battles with Saitama.
