~ Star Sapphire |
Summary[]
Carol Ferris worked at a high position at Ferris Air (being the direct superior of Hal Jordan), but one day would experience a psychotic breakdown that gave her a split personality. Her second self was galvanized by her acquiring a powerful fuchsia gem that afforded her powers such as flight, energy projection, and energy construct creation - becoming the formidable supervillain Star Sapphire, a frequent enemy of the Justice League.
Powers and Stats[]
Tier: Varies, up to High 6-A to 5-B at her peak, possibly far higher
Name: Known as Star Sapphire, stated to be Carol Ferris in this continuity
Origin: The DC Animated Universe
Gender: Male
Age: At least in her mid-twenties, considering her appearance
Classification: Human, Member of the Injustice Gang and Legion of Doom, Temporary Member of the Superman Revenge Squad
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics (See Speed)
- Empowerment (Is empowered by her Fuchsia gem)
- Weapon Mastery (Stated to wield her gem with "the same physical and mental dexterity that Green Lantern exhibits with his power ring")
- Energy Projection (Can fire energy blasts from her gem, which is her main mode of attack)
- Pseudo-Telekinesis (Can lift and carry things with energy beams)
- Forcefield Creation (Can create barriers to protect herself and transport things)
- Resistance to Cosmic Radiations (A barrier she created, which would only be an elaboration of the skintight energy barrier she always has around her body, seemingly protected her, Grundy, and The Shade from the radiations of outer space)
Attack Potency: Varies (Can clearly control the energy of her blasts, as in some instances they can harm and contend with high-tier Metahumans, yet in one instance where she's fighting Batman (who she knows isn't a Metahuman, and thus probably assumes he doesn't merit her wasting her full power against him) all they do is chip walls and destroy sections of floors), up to Multi-Continental to Planet Level at her peak (Cancelled out two blasts from Green Lantern, beam struggled with him, and broke his construct with a volley of blasts. Can temporarily down JL Season 1 Superman with a blast to the back of the head - despite the fact that Bruce Timm himself admits JL Season 1 Superman is plot-nerfed, he's still powerful enough to fight evenly with the likes of Solomon Grundy and Wonder Woman, and can overpower beams from Manhunters who can beam struggle with a serious Green Lantern. One-shot both Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl with blasts. Blasted back the Flash. Sliced through a huge metal door. Casually burst through a sidewalk), possibly far higher (The exact extent to which many of the series' characters scale to feats such as "a thousand lanterns" being capable of holding the sun together is impossible to be sure of, so it's only listed as a possible end)
Speed: Varies (At her lowest ends, she gets blitzed by Batarangs and her own beam reflected back at her), likely Relativistic reactions and combat speed (Reacted to a Lantern beam and cancelled it out with her own blast - Lantern Beams being shown to move at the Speed of Light. Dodged her own beam reflected back at her. Dodged a swing from Hawkgirl. Avoided a beam from the JL Javelin. Dodged an energy blast from a Parademon), possibly MFTL+ (It's possible that Lanterns' travel speed scales to their combat speed, though personally I've never seen any arguments for that which were nearly compelling enough for me to claim it's definitive), with Speed of Light attack speed with Energy Beams (Her beam could intercept a Lantern Beam in flight and cancel it out, is stated to be very similar to a lantern beam, and reflects off mirrors as light would), and at least Supersonic flight speed (Flew to high orbit in an indeterminate (but implied to be short) period of time)
Lifting Strength: Average Human physically (Doesn't appear to have any degree of superhuman strength), and at least Class 10 with constructs (Caught a falling helicopter and brought it to the top of a skyscraper)
Striking Strength: At least Human Level (Never implied to have any degree of superhuman strength)
Durability: Varies (If she isn't expecting a certain attack, her energy barrier will disappear, resulting in her being hurt by a statue hitting her and a barrel of oil blowing up), generally Multi-Continental to Planet Level, possibly higher (Her energy shield that's always around her body should be the same thing as the energy that composes her blasts as well as her barriers, which blocked a beam from Green Lantern, withstood being hit with a massive gun thrown at her by Wonder Woman and turned aside blasts from a Javelin. Took swings from Hawkgirl, though whether or not she was holding back in this instance is difficult to determine)
Stamina: At least Athletic (Doesn't seem fatigued by engaging in decently long battles against heroes)
Range: Tens of Meters with Energy Blasts (Created a large wall-shaped construct, and fired her beams across large rooms)
- Fuchsia Gem: A gem embedded in her headpiece that grants her great powers, such as flight, energy projection, the ability to create energy constructs, pseudo-telekinesis, et cetera.
Intelligence: At least Above Average, with notable combat prowess (Stated to work at a high position in Ferris Air, and has years of experience as a supervillain - to the point that she's as skilled with her Gem as Green Lantern is with his ring)
Standard Tactics: Generally opts to swiftly defeat her opponents with an energy blast.
Weaknesses: Likely has normal human weaknesses. If taken off guard, her concentration is seemingly disrupted and her energy shield (which grants her great durability) seems to vanish.
Note: Bruce Timm has stated that the original DCAU tie-in comics are not canon, with the only tie in comics that have statements to the contrary (other than Batman: The Adventures Continue, which has so many continuity issues that it's essentially impossible to argue it's canon) being Justice League Infinity, the Batman and Harley Quinn tie in comics, and specifically the first annual of Batman Adventures. Ergo, I only consider those three comics canon.
