Character Stats and Profiles Wiki

In the past, we have encouraged users to create new pages for powers and abilities they thought the wiki lacked. However, as of now, we want new pages to be approved by the staff, meaning that new powers and abilities pages must be suggested. This can be done in our official Discord server in the suggestion channel, or messaged to a staff member. Of course, users can always create blogs about powers and abilities to include in their profiles if they don't want to attempt creating official pages. Linking to other wikis' powers and abilities pages is also permitted.

Sometimes the player dreamed it was a miner, on the surface of a world that was flat, and infinite. The sun was a square of white. The days were short; there was much to do; and death was a temporary inconvenience.

Steve is the playable character and protagonist of Minecraft. Steve lacks an official backstory by the developers of Minecraft as he is intended to be a customizable player avatar as opposed to being a predefined character. During the End Poem, it is revealed that Steve is an avatar used by The Player.

Steve became a widely recognized character in the video game industry following the critical and commercial success of the Minecraft franchise. Considered by some critics as a mascot for the Minecraft intellectual property, his likeness has appeared extensively in advertising and merchandise, including wearable apparel and collectible items.

Non-splash potions take a bit over a second to drink and can be interrupted. Splash Potions can hurt the user if they are too close. TNT takes several seconds to explode, giving enemies some time to escape. They can be interrupted while slinging arrows. Death will cause them to drop all the items they were holding at the time until they can retrieve them from where they died. Shields are only able to be used when they're sneaking, which heavily decreases their mobility.

    • Instant Damage: A kind of poison that instantly dishes out damage against the enemy. This potion ignores any armor that the target possesses and deals direct damage to his body.
    • Invisibility: A Kind of poison that makes Steve disappear. Mobs will only detect and track Steve at a very close range, a range which is increased when Steve wears armor.
  • Lingering Potion: Another throwing potion that leaves the surrounding area of impact full of the effect of the potion for a few seconds.
  • (Enchanted) Golden Apple: Massively increases regenerative abilities, gives them a higher maximum health pool. An enchanted variant has all previous effects except much more drastic, in addition to also providing fire resistance. Both apples can cure zombie infestation.
  • Elytra: A pair of wings that can be used to glide when in the air. The usage of fireworks can transform this into high-speed flight.
  • Bow: A simple bow weapon. Arrows can be tipped with any of the potion effects mentioned or be turned into "Spectral Arrows", which helps Steve track enemy hits by it.
    • Crossbow: A less versatile similar variation of the bow which can use the same arrows, but takes a few seconds to charge an attack, but is always gonna do the same powerful damage that's comparable to a fully-charged attack from a traditional bow.
  • Trident: A throwing weapon that can also be used in melee situations. Various enchantments can have a variety of effect on it, allowing it to come back to Steve once thrown, allowing it to summon lightning under a thunderstorm, or allowing Steve to propel themselves in the air at high speed when raining or when underwater.
  • Totem of Undying: When held, this item will resurrect Steve once from death. It gives Steve a moderate amount of health to deal with after being resurrected. Note that this resurrects the Player immediately, otherwise they would respawn without any of their equipment.
  • Enchantment: Possible boosts applied to Steve's weapons. They can be made sharper, and more durable, enabling him to produce flames or make them stronger against a specific type of enemy. Enchantments on armor can make it more durable against certain types of attacks or even damage the enemy if Steve is hit.

  • Shield: A defensive technique only usable when Steve is sneaking. When used, it allows him to completely nullify any damage to non-piercing attacks as long as he's facing the source of the damage. In some cases, it can even deflect solid physical projectiles like arrows from a skeleton if close enough.
  • Sneaking: A technique that can be used by Steve to prevent themselves from being able to walk off edges (although he's still able to get knocked back). It also allows them to stop bouncing from certain gelatin-like objects like slime blocks and keeps them from taking damage from magma while standing on top of it. In addition, it makes the Player not able to emit vibrations while moving, or jumping.
