Character Stats and Profiles Wiki

In the past, we have encouraged users to create new pages for powers and abilities they thought the wiki lacked. However, as of now, we want new pages to be approved by the staff, meaning that new powers and abilities pages must be suggested. This can be done in our official Discord server in the suggestion channel, or messaged to a staff member. Of course, users can always create blogs about powers and abilities to include in their profiles if they don't want to attempt creating official pages. Linking to other wikis' powers and abilities pages is also permitted.

I'm an accountant... in a way.
~ The Strange Man to John Marston

Summary[]

The Strange Man is a very mysterious character in the Red Dead Redemption video game. He first appeared in the original Red Dead Redemption game, as a character who gave John advice on what decisions to make next, or told him about events that were about to take place. He would later appear in front of John one last time, revealing that in some ways, he is an accountant. He would later make easter egg appearances in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Classification: Unknown (Strongly implied to be Death or the Grim Reaper), "Not of the mortal realm"

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Enhanced Senses, Extrasensory Perception and Clairvoyance (Likely knows when every living being is going to die, and can know all the choices people have made throughout their life), Immortality (Types 1, 8, and 9; Is embodiment of death. Implied that his true existence is not of this mortal realm), Abstract Existence (Type 1; Concept. Is strongly implied to be death itself), Acausality (Types 1 and 4; The Strange Man is unaffected by whatever decision is made by people, which dictates the future and how time flows. Blind man Cassidy implies that the Strange Man is not of this world, and is not sure what he brings and what his purpose is, despite all his predictions and knowledge of the main characters past, present and future being completely accurate), Fourth Wall Awareness, Causality Manipulation and Death Manipulation (The Strange Man could not be seen by the precognition of the Blind Man and is said to be "not of this world". The 3 bullets John shot at The Strange Man were exchanged for the lives of John himself, his wife Abigail and Uncle, while the 4th bullet being jammed being the reason Jack would be spared), Intangibility (John Marston's bullets went straight through him), Probability Manipulation, Fate Manipulation, Age Manipulation, Law Manipulation, Disease Manipulation, Curse Manipulation (The Strange Man was responsible for all the sicknesses in the town of Armadillo, with the disease being described as a curse, and he made a deal with the only survivor who remained immune by forming a contract with The Strange Man stating he'd be immune but at the cost of various generations being plagued with illness), Wish Granting and Power Bestowal (Made a shopkeeper choose between eternal happiness or to live for 200 years in exchange for his soul when he dies. He also resurrects him when he dies), Resistance to Disease Manipulation and Curse Manipulation (Likely as he granted this to a shopkeeper)

Attack Potency: Unknown (Should be far stronger than any other character in the game), likely High Multiverse level+ (Is embodiment of death, which its concept is unbound by space-time. Has knowledge of your entire playthrough and possibly every other persons playthrough, and likely retains all of his power within every single one in history. This is backed up by the fact that he doesn't know his name due to the developers calling him "Strange man" and how he mentions your playthrough on the wall but doesn't know what to make of is, possibly due to having seen possibly millions of others. Was stated to possibly be god, so if the previously mentioned theory is true then he created everything, likely including all previously mentioned playthroughs)

Told John that a man will be unfaithful to his wife which turned out to be true. Knows all the decisions The Player makes throughout the game and it is stated that The Strange Man is always watching.
