Brief Summary[]
Summoning is the ability to transport a person, creature, or object of choice by means of Teleportation, Dimensional Travel, Portal Creation or some other way. This ability is often associated with Magic, but Magic is far from the only means to make use of this ability. Although most depictions of Summoning tend to invoke a creature of some sort, it isn't unheard of for this ability to be used to summon inanimate objects or other things instead. The exact nature of and requirements for a summoning to occur tends to vary from verse-to-verse, but oftentimes a sacrifice may be involved, or a contractual relationship between the summoned entity and the summoner(s).

- Summons may only be temporary.
- Summoning immensely large/heavy/powerful entities may take a toll on the user.
- Summoning may not necessarily grant control over the summoned being.
- Summoned entities may become uncontrollable and put the summoner and others in danger.
- Summoning may require a contract to summon specific entities.
- Summoning may require the approval of the target entity to occur.
- Summoning certain entities may require a sacrifice, such as blood, wealth or life.
- Certain temporal/spatial limitations/restrictions may prevent/complicate summoning
- Certain summons may require extensive preparation and/or multiple users to perform successfully.
