Summary[]

Ulquiorra Cifer (ウルキオラ・シファー, Urukiora Shifā) is one of the primary antagonists of Bleach's arrancar saga. He is the cuatro espada, and is an unforgettable character due to his extreme power his cold demeanor. His nihilistic outlook and upbringing made him doubt about the existence of the 'heart,' though tragically, he came to understand it in his last moments.

Powers and Abilities: Soul Physiology and Hollow Physiology (High tier on both, as he is one strongest of the elite arrancars.), Low-Mid Regeneration (Ulquiorra has a remarkable regenerative ability[Cite 1], which lets him instantly regenerate limbs[Cite 2] and everything except his internal organs[Cite 3]. He has even shown to be able to use this on his eyes.), Heat Manipulation (His ceros can instantly vaporize large structures[Cite 4].), Light Manipulation (Can fire and interact with ceros.), Resistance to Extrasensory Perception (He can use Sonido, the arrancar equivalent of Shunpo, which lets the user bypass extrasensory perception[Cite 5].), Transformation and Statistics Amplification (Can use different techniques and his resureccion to amplify his own statistics.), Telepathy (Ulquiorra can project images from his eye using "Solita Vista."[Cite 6]), Master Swordsman (Can expertly combat Ichigo Kurosaki using his sword.)

Attack Potency: Multi-Continent level (Espadas like Ulquiorra are in a completely different level of power compared to the Numeros. The espada hierarchy is structured based on their attack potency, making Ulquiorra superior to the base espadas ranked below 4. This includes individuals like Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez and Nnoitra Gilga. He can break through Ichigo's (Pre-Grimmjow fight, Bankai) sternum with his bare hand[Cite 7] and his cero immediately brought Ichigo out of Hollowification (Pre-Grimmjow fight)[Cite 7] when Ichigo first came to Hueco Mundo. He also casually physically clashed with that version of Ichigo[Cite 8], and quashed his black Getsuga[Cite 8]. Against a significantly stronger Ichigo, after the Grimmjow, Nnoitra, and casual Ulquiorra fights, he can clash with Post-Grimmjow fight Ichigo physically[Cite 9], only being slightly overwhelmed by the black Getsuga's attack potency amp. This specifically where his Multi-Continent scaling in base primarily comes from[SCALING NOTES 1], as that form of Ichigo had grown massively beyond Grimmjow's Gran Rey Cero (read the profile for details). During the earlier Arrancar arc, Ulquiorra is capable of slapping a way a Benihime slash from a casual Kisuke[Cite 10], and he's stated to be capable of fighting both Kisuke and Yoruichi without being put in a disadvantage[Cite 11].[Statistics Values 1]), far higher with Gran Rey Cero (This is the strongest variation of an amplified Cero which the espada can use[Cite 12][Cite 13][Cite 14], making it stronger than the Cero oscuras which magnifies attack potency an order of magnitude[Cite 15]. This would mean it amplifies base Ulquiorra's attack potency over 10x, as an order of magnitude increase is a 10x increase. Gran Rey Cero from espada are specifically noted to be capable of destroying Las Noches itself[Cite 16]. Considering Ceros' consistently demonstrated abilities to vaporize and their photonic composition, a conservative estimation suggests that the energy required for this venture can be quantified as this strong[Statistics Values 2], substantiating this evaluation. Furthermore, it is logically founded that the fifth strongest espada would wield a more potent Gran Rey Cero than those ranked below it.[Statistics Values 3]), Multi-Continent level with Murciélago (Per the espada's ranking, Ulquiorra's Resurección is stronger than those ranked below it, making it stronger than Nnoitra's and Grimmjow by a significant margin. Resurrección is stated to be almost identical to a Bankai in terms of releasing incredible power that was previously sealed[Cite 17], and both are stated to increase the user's combat capabilities {Bankai by five to ten times[Cite 18] and Resurección by several times[Cite 19]}. Ulquiorra's release improves his offensive ability[Cite 15] as much as Resurecciónes which sacrifice other powers for strength and is hyped up as giving power beyond comprehension[Cite 20]. This would mean it increases his offensive combat capabilities by at least 5x, as this is what a Resurección-level offensive increase is, and this is where his scaling primarily comes from. While Gran Rey Cero are not permitted under Las Noches because they have the capacity to destroy the entire structure, the sheer sword releases from espada ranked 4 and above are capable of doing this[Cite 16], showing the degree to which they're stronger than the lower ranked espadas. To look at feats supporting him getting a big power increase, he effortlessly blocks a fully charged black Getsuga[Cite 21] post-Grimmjow fight Hollowified Ichigo than the one who faced Grimmjow, smacks him around[Cite 4], and almost decapitates him, cracking his mask itself in the process[Cite 16]. It is to a point where it is called an insurmountable difference in power, and Ichigo even acknowledges Ulquiorra's superiority[Cite 4].[Statistics Values 4]), higher with Cero Oscuras (A cero oscuras multiplies Ulquiorra's attack power by an order of magnitude[Cite 15]. It breaks[Cite 22] Ichigo's Hollow Mask instantly and simply grazing Las Noches with it vaporized a large section of its ceiling[Cite 4], and since it is specifically noted as capable of destroying Las Noches itself[Cite 15], it should be capable of vaporizing the entire structure too. That can be conservatively calculated to take this much energy[Statistics Values 2], and although it scales higher through upscaling from different feats, it supports his high 6-A rating. Uryu and Orihime sense this power, and its spiritual pressure overwhelms them[Cite 4].[Statistics Values 5]), even higher with Gran Rey Cero (The Gran Rey Cero is a stronger Cero variation than Cero Oscuras, as explained previously), at least Multi-Continent level with Resurección: Segunda Etapa (This transformation is far stronger than anything Uryu and Orihime have sensed before[Cite 23], which includes his Resurección cero oscuras[Cite 4], and it produced greater effects on them than the Cero Oscuras did[Cite 23]. This is where his Segunda Etapa scaling primarily comes from, as it means his Segunda Etapa is over 10x stronger than his regular Resureccion, which is already a massive amp on top of his base power. He overpowers Ichigo in this form very easily[Cite 23], and completely decimates Uryu[Cite 24].[Statistics Values 5]), higher with Cero Oscuras (A cero oscuras is a technique which increases attack potency by an order of magnitude, as explained previously. As for more feats in this form, He finally kills Ichigo with this[Cite 24].[Statistics Values 6]), far higher with Gran Rey Cero (As previously explained, his Gran Rey Cero is a greater amplification than a Cero Oscuras, as it is the strongest cero variation.[Statistics Values 7]), even higher with Lanza del Relampago (This is Ulquiorra's hardest technique to control[Cite 2], which he uses to fight stronger opponents that can already quash his cero Oscuras[Cite 25]. This strongly implies it is his ultimate technique, making it stronger than his hypothetical Resureccion Gran Rey Cero, and obviously stronger than his Resureccion Cero Oscuras. As for supporting evidence for the rating, it was estimated to yield this much energy[Statistics Values 8] from just raising dust above the explosion. The actual explosion itself would contain far more energy than just the dust raised, so it really solidifies the rating, and gives credence to it being in the Exaton range.[Statistics Values 9])

Speed: FTL+ (Ulquiorra can fight evenly with and react[Cite 9] to Post-Grimmjow fight Hollowfied Ichigo, who grew in power after fighting Grimmjow {per his adaptive evolution}. This is where his base speed scaling primarily comes from, and more details on Ichigo's exact scaling chain to get to that level can be found on his profile. As mentioned previously, he could react to a casual Kisuke[Cite 10] and keep fighting with both him and Yoruichi without being put in a disadvantage[Cite 11].).[Statistics Values 10]), Massively FTL+ attack speed with Balas (This attack multiplies his cero attack speed by 20x over, and it is a basic Arrancar technique[Cite 26][Cite 27][Cite 28].[Statistics Values 11]), Massively FTL with Resurección (In the process of almost decapitating Ichigo, he moved from the top of the Las Noches pillars to where Ichigo was[Cite 16] before he could react or even perceive[Cite 21], which should account for a substantial blitz of moving what is calculated to be and by lore over a hundred meters before said person can even react. However, an alteranative quantification will be provided which wouldn't rely upon calc-stacking Ulquiorra's speed later on. Ichigo is only able to counter Ulquiorra by firing a Black Getsuga instinctually[Cite 16], which wouldn't constitute his regular reflexes. His speed is hyped up as being beyond Ichigo's comprehension[Cite 20], supporting it being a complete perception difference, especially in this instance. Considering one of the combat capabilities Murciélago amplifies is clearly his speed, his Resurección should be quantified as a Resurección-level speed increase. This transformation, as mentioned before, amplifies the user's combat capabilities almost identically to Bankai[Cite 17], which amplifies the user's combat capabilities generally 5-10x over[Cite 18]. This interpretation is supported by Resurección being directly stated to amplify the user's combat capabilities several times[Cite 19], which would fit that 5-10x number. Considering this, we can treat the multiplier as at least a 5x speed multiplier, which is significantly less than what it could be calc-stacked as, but is a lower estimate supported by the calc.[Statistics Values 12]), Massively FTL+ attack speed with Balas (This attack multiplies his cero attack speed by 20x[Cite 26][Cite 27][Cite 28].[Statistics Values 13]), at least Massively FTL with Segunda Etapa (He can perception blitz Ichigo again[Cite 23]. Durability: Multi-Continent level (Comparable to his attack potency, as he can withstand the force of his own physical strikes. Can take almost no damage to his bare skin[Cite 8] from a mid-Hueco Mundo Invasion Hollowified Ichigo, even while he's amplifying his own physical strikes with a Getsuga Tensho. He has Hierro, which uses high spiritual pressure hardness to shield arrancars from piercing damage[Cite 19].[Statistics Values 1]), Multi-Continent level with Murciélago (Can no-sell a much stronger Hollowified Ichigo black Getsuga with his bare wings than the one who fought Grimmjow[Cite 21]. Stamina: Super-human: he has superior spiritual power to shikai Ichigo, meaning he should be able to fight for long periods of time of at least 5 days straight or run for a week straight.

Range: Standard meele range with physical strikes, Hundreds of kilometers with Ceros as they can cero away the palace of Las Noches, Thousands of Kilometers with Lanza de Relampago.

Standard Equipment: Zanpakutō, Caja Negación (This is a box which seals an opponent within an alternate dimension[Cite 30], and it is given to espadas by Aizen to punish their subordinates[Cite 30]. Fracciones-class arrancars can be sealed within them indefinitely, while people on Ulquiorra's level take several hours to break out[Cite 30].

Intelligence: at least Above Average: he is Aizen's right-hand man among the ranks of the arrancars due to his ability to have a wide perspective of things[Cite 31]. He can carry out Aizen's plan of putting Orihime into a 'psychic cage[Cite 32],' and is a highly logical character[Cite 33].

Weaknesses: Ulquiorra tends to concede to stronger opponents after determining he cannot win a fight. He loses all will to fight against Full Hollow Ichigo once he realizes he's significantly and definitively weaker. Although Ulquiorra can regenerate, destroying his vital organs will kill him.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

- Resurección (帰刃, Japanese for "Returning Blade" | レスレクシオン, Resurekushion; Spanish for "Resurrection"): this transformation allows Ulquiorra to regain his old abilities as a hollow. It massively increases his statistics.

- Cero (虚閃, Hollow Flash; セロ, cero): this is a powerful spiritual light which hollows make out of their own spiritual pressure.

  • Cero Oscuras (黒虚閃, Black Hollow Flash | セロ・オスキュラス, Dark Cero): an enhanced version of a cero which contains an order of magnitude more power.
  • Gran Rey Cero (王虚の閃光, King Hollow Flash of light | グラン・レイ・セロ, Grand King Cero): this is the strongest enhanced Cero variation, which causes space to visibly distort around it.

- Bala (虚弾, Hollow Bullet | バラ, Bullet): an attack where the user can condense their spiritual pressure, and fire it at twenty times the speed of a cero. Its overall power is weaker, though it does carry a stronger striking strength and it can be successively fired at a faster rate.

- Luz de la Luna (ルス・デ・ラ・ルナ, Rusu de ra Runa; Spanish for "Light of the Moon"): this techniques an energy-based lance which he can use to fight strong opponents. He uses this weapon in his first stage of resurección.

- Lanza del Relámpago (雷霆の槍, "Lance of Thunder" | ランサ・デル・レランパーゴ "Lance of the Thunder"): Ulquiorra can use his spiritual power to make this Lance. It functions as his ultimate technique, and he can chose to throw it to make large country-sized explosions in a flash. He uses this attack in his segunda etapa.
