First of all, I apologize for the errors that the Blog may have, I am using a translator, so I hope you can understand all this.
This blog will be to calculate not only the strength of Kain (from the Legacy of Kain series), shown in the games, but also the strength of his vampires sons/liutenants: Raziel, Turel, Dumah, Rahab, Zephon and Melchiah.
To understand well why a character has the strength he has, you have to read the whole blog from the beginning, but to make the explanation short: Kain's children scale from a young version of Kain (since he used a portion of his power to create them), likewise Elder Kain, scales from his children since he is more powerful than all of them together.
This is going to be very long since these characters have several versions, they all scale each other and all the different versions depend on other factors, and in general there are a lot of things to talk about. Even if you want to see the power of a specific character you will have to read the whole Blog to understand why he has that power.
I'm not an expert in calculations, so if I made a mistake, feel free to say so.
Now there are several things to take into account:
1) "If you are wounded, seek out blood to restore your vitality. You must know, too, that by drinking the blood of others, you will gradually become stronger, and harder to kill. We call this a vampire’s Lore. The more creatures you drink from, the more Lore you will gain, and the greater your health will become. Leave no enemy alive, Kain. You will need their blood and their Lore to survive." [1] Vampires increase their overall "strength", both the force of their blows and the weight they are able to lift. to give an example, in Blood Omen 2, end of chapter 2, Kain went from being able to punch through a person wearing iron armor with his bare hands with little effort, to being able to do the same with a thicker steel armor in the chapter 5. Elder Kain also proved to be able to lift much more weight than when he was younger, but I will detail that when we talk about Lifting Strength. If Kain, who was uniquely created, shares the vampires' ability to increase their strength/durability by drinking blood, his children should obviously have this ability as well.
2) Vampiric Evolution: In the case of Kain and his descendants, they evolve by entering into states of change, and after an undetermined time, they awaken having undergone a physical evolution, becoming more powerful/stronger, faster and resilient than before. This is gonna be EXTREMELY important for later.
3) Time between the Games: The Games between them have centuries or even more than a thousand years of difference between them: Between Blood Omen 1 and Soul Reaver 1/2, there is a gap of 2000 years; Because Legacy of Kain, is a story that deals with time travel, things sometimes get a little complicated, but I'll try to explain it simply: There are five games in Legacy of Kain, these in chronological order: Blood Omen 1 (when Kain just became a Vampire, and he was 30 years old), Blood Omen 2 (The intro occurs 200 years after Blood Omen 1, and then there is a 200 year time jump which is where the whole game occurs), Soul Reaver 1 (The intro occurs 1000 years after Blood Omen 2, and then there is a 500 year time jump), Soul Reaver 2 (it is a direct sequel to Soul Reaver 1, it starts where 1 ends), and Defiance, it occurs a few years after Soul Reaver 2. It is worth mentioning that characters travel through time several times in Soul Reaver 2 and other games, so two characters may be in different times even though they are in the same place.
First, I will calculate the Attack Pottency and Lifting Strength of the young Kain of Blood Omen 1, and then the Lifting Strength of the Elder Kain, this will be important to know the minimum of how much Kain increased his strength between both versions (young and Elder). I will do it first since for this Kain doesn't need scaling with any other character, furthermore, Kain's strength in Blood Omen 1 and the minimum that Kain increased his strength when he went from Young to Elder, is the basis for everything.
Blood Omen, Kain Attack potency and Lifting Strength:[]
A Kain that was extremely weakened by a 200 year coma {in Blood Omen 2} in the Beginning of the game, is capable of punching through a human with his bare hands with little effort, this was calculated at 1100 joules. At the beginning of Blood Omen 1, Kain should be able to multiply at least by 3, the energy/strength shown by his weakened counterpart of Blood Omen 2, using all his strength, not only because he is at least as strong as that version, likely stronger, but also because the feat was done with little effort.
So Kain's blows at the beginning of the game produce an energy of 3300 joules. Kain's base strength is probably much higher than this (I'll explain it at the end).
Lifting Strength:[]
Kain throughout Blood Omen 1 drank from special blood fountains, which increased his strength several times, making him able to move larger and heavier boulders. Kain went from being able to move these small boulders at the beginning of the game, to move huge boulders at the end.
Small yellow rock:
The small rocks is almost equal in length and width to Kain, Kain width is 156 px/80 cm or 2.6 ft, the yellow rock is 181 px/92.82 cm or 3 ft, Due to the perspective it is impossible (at least for me) to calculate exactly the length and height of the rocks, but I will say that the length is equal to the width. The height, it seems to reach Kain's knee (The fact that he pushes her with his arms is a technical limitation, because clearly doesn't even reach her waist), using this image, if Kain is 2.13 meters or 7ft, and is 688px, the height of his knee (and therefore the rock) is 193 px or 60 cm=2ft.
Small Dark Rock
The small black rock has a smaller width than the yellow one, having a width of 148 px/81.10 cm compared to Kain's 146 px/80 cm/2.6 ft, but it is taller, seeming to reach Kain's waist. As for the length, as with the yellow rock, not being able to calculate it due to the perspective, I will assume it is equal to the width, I know it is not the best, but I don't know a way to calculate it. Kain is 7ft tall and is 685 px, legs to waist is 446 px, so the height of the rock is 4.56 ft or 138.9888 çm
The big Dark rock:
Small Yellow rock calculation:
3 ft or 92.82 cm=Width
3 ft or 92.82 cm=Length
2 ft or 60 cm=Height
3x3x2=18
18x145=2,610
2,610÷2000=1.305 tons, Small yellow rock
Small Dark rock Calculation:
2.6 ft or 81.10 cm=Width
2.6 ft or 81.10 cm=Length
4.56 ft or 138.9888 cm=Height
2.6x2.6x4.56=30.8256
30.8256x168=5,178.7008
5,178.7008÷2000=2.5893504 tons. Small Dark rock
Big Dark Rock calculation:
Part 1 calc:
Width: If Kain gives that it is 75 px, and he has a width of 80 cm, and that part of the rock gives 160 px, then the rock is 170.67 cm wide or 5.5 ft.
7 ft or 213 cm=Height
The Length as i said would be twice as the ones from the small rocks, then it would be 185.64 cm or 6 ft
5.5x7x6=231
231x168=38,808
38,808÷2000=19.404 tons
This is the calc of the bigger part of the rock, now is the calc fot the small part:
Part 2 calc
As for the height, this small part is lower, in fact it seems to reach the middle of Kain's chest, so if Kain in total, has a height of 7 ft or 213 cm, and is 688 px, from the legs to the torso has a height of 504 px, or 156.03 cm/5.1 ft.
As for the width, that part has a width of 28 px, if 75 px is 80 cm, then 28 pixels is 29.87 cm or 0.9 ft.
The length of the rocks keep being the same 185.64 cm or 6 ft
5.1x0.9x6=27.54
27.54x168=4,626.72
4,626.72÷2000=2.31336 tons
If we add the weight of both parts: 19.404+2.3=21.704 tons, the rock weighs about 21 tons.
Lifting Strength: 21 tons. Now we have to take into account that Kain uses his whole body to move the rocks, and he is applying effort, this will be important to calculate the Lifting Strength of Elder Kain
Attack potency:[]
Kain went from moving 1.3 tons to moving 21 tons, i.e. he had an increase in strength of 16.69 times, not only of lifting strength, but also the strength of his strikes, as he increase his "strength" in general, by rhe Blood Fountains.
Strength increase by human blood:
Unfortunately no source confirms how much strength Kain increases by drinking the blood of enemies, and unlike Blood Omen 1, in Blood Omen 2 it is not indicated anywhere how many humans/enemies Kain drank blood from, Kain also absorbs "lore" from various chests, these give much more lore than the blood of creatures, however by looking at the feats he does at the beginning of the game, and those he does near the end (in chapter 8 of the game), you can tell how much Kain increased his strength.
Note that Umah tells Kain "Leave no enemy alive, Kain. You will need their blood and their Lore to survive", so canonically Kain drank the blood of every enemy he encountered.
Using this let's play as a reference and counting every enemy and NPC that Kain encounters, we get that Kain drank the blood of around 300 Enemies and 200 NPC. This from the beginning of the chapter 1 to the end of chapter 8. Of those 200 NPC I will discount 50, because in the first parts of the game Kain works with humans, and even when he sees a group of humans butchered by another vampire, he tells him that he is attracting attention, in fact Kain disguises himself as a human using his powers to go unnoticed when he goes around the city, so logically he is not going to kill every human that crosses him, also the NPCs give a very low amount of "lore", about half of a normal enemy, in fact you can know the amount of lore that gives a creature with respect to another, seeing how much Kain takes to absorb the blood, because the more powerful the enemy is the more lore it has (and therefore increases the blood, that's how it works in Blood Omen 2) Kain also drank from Lore chest/Relics, made for vampires that contain Lore. The small lore chests give 3 spheres, and have red circles on the top. The big chest gives 5 lore spheres and has blue circles on the top. From chapter 1 to chapter 8, which is when the battle against Magnus takes place, there are a total of 70 chests/relics lore, unfortunately the guide does not specify how many chests there are of each color. The first blue chest appears at the end of chapter 3 (it is the last one you get in the level), that would leave us that Kain "drank" from 27 red chests. That would leave a total of 43 chests in the rest of the game, the amount of blue chests, is less than the red chests (since the latter give more lore, although as the game progresses, the blue chests appear more and more often). So to say that of those 70 chests, 1/3 are blue chests (23 blue chests), is not unreasonable (sorry, but I already spent hours counting each enemy in the game, I will not do it again to count the chests)
it is impossible to know exactly how much lore each chest gives compared to the human ones, although they give much more. When more powerful the enemy is, the more lore it gives, so it is not the same to drink the blood of a Sarafan Guard, than that of a "Gylph Knight", giving the latter much more lore.
Let's take a look at the average values: NPC fills the lore bar by 1 pixel, and a Sarafan Guard fills the lore bar by 2 pixels. The red chest fills it 10 pixels and the blue chest fills it 16 pixels. Of course during the game and by filling the lore bar, it will become bigger and bigger, and the enemies will fill it proportionally more, but the difference of lore between the different enemies and the chests remains proportionally the same, even one of the strongest enemies, will always give less lore than a red chest. So on average, drinking the lore of a red chest is equal to drinking the blood of 5 average enemies, and a blue chest is drinking the blood of 8 average enemies, this value would decrease a little if we take into account the most powerful enemies, but these are less in quantity than the weakest.
So if we add up all the "lore" we have:
- Creatures from which Kain drank blood=450
- Red chests 47 =the lore of 235 creatures.
- Blue chests 23=the lore of 184 creatures.
450+235+184=869. The corresponding lore of 869 creatures.
Now to see how strong Kain was, you have to see what he does during the game: Kain at the beginning of chapter 1 of Blood Omen 2, being in his weakest state, is able to punch through a person with his bare hands with little effort.
In the chapter 5 of the game, is able to do the same with a thicker steel armor, which is a increase in strength of over 3 times, compared to the beginning, likely more (since not only the armor went from iron to steel, the latter is also visibly thicker).
However this is nothing compared to what he would do in chapter 8. Kain faces a vampire named Magnus, the guy is so strong that he can knock down a large thick metal door (twice his size), with a single blow, as well as send flying thick metal bars effortlessly, punching them. As seen in the videos, Kain can not only block Magnus's strikes easily, but it can also damage him, so Kain scales even above the feats shown by Magnus.
Considering the feats shown, and that Kain scales on top of them, easily Kain's punches by this point in the game should exert an energy of at least 30,000 joules, applying himself, likely more. That's an increase of about 30 times from the beginning of the game. Keep in mind that Kain is able to block Magnus' blows without effort, and is able to hurt him, therefore the energy that the blows exert on Magnus is higher than when he knocked down the door (if his durability was lower than the energy exerted by his blows, he would have had to hurt his hand), and Kain is not exerting effort in delivering those blows (Kain applying effort would be when he strikes through the human, although he is clearly not using his full strength).
As I said I am not an expert in calculations, and even if I wanted to I could not do the calculations, since I currently only have a cell phone and the application that is there to see the pixels (which is the one I used in the previous calculations, only measures in and horizontal, so I will probably make mistakes.
Note: Although Magnus has Pyrokinetic powers, every time he uses his powers, both in gameplay and in cinematics, and even when Kain uses them after absorbing him, there is an effect that the whole screen turns red, when it is used and both Magnus and Kain never activate it with their body, but with their mind, so the explosions can be two things:
1) That Magnus has so much strength that his blows/body generate explosions.
2) Technical limitations.
Of the two options the second one is the most likely, since Magnus does not use the explosions even once when he attacks Kain melee, and he later clarifies that he does them with his mind. So surely they did it to hide technical limitations, and that when he breaks the bars it doesn't look so bad. This also happens other times.
Kain had a base strength of at least 3300 Joules, in Blood Omen 1 Kain drink the Blood of around 600 humans (to give a Mid-end). Blood Omen 1 takes place over the course of a month, Kain likes blood, and he travel through the entire continent of Nosgoth, so this number make sense. If Kain in Blood Omen 2 with the blood of 869 people, increased his strength from 1,100 to 30,000 joules), with the blood of 600 people, increased his strength 20,713 joules compared to the beginning of Blood Omen 1, (or a Strength of 24,013 Joules in total), an increase in strength of around 8 times. So between the beginning of the game and the end, taking into account the Blood Fountains (an increase of 16.69 times) and the blood he drank from humans, Kain increased his strength by 25.1 times (i.e 82,830 Joules or 0,019 Kg of TNT).
3300+20,713=24,013 joules.
3300x16.68=55,077 joules.
24,013+55,077=79,090 Joules.
Attack potency: At least 79,090 J or 0,018 kg of TNT or Wall level, likely Far Higher
Kain doesn't actually use his bare hands to attack in Blood Omen 1, he uses different weapons, so in reality, Kain would have to scale up to the feats he shows in Blood Omen 1 with the weapons, not the Blood Omen 2 version. Kain with those weapons is able to apply a MUCH greater force/energy, than what is shown in this result, the weapons (which are the Iron Sword and Spiked Mace), are totally common and mundane weapons, without any special feature, so the force comes all from Kain (but the difference is tens/hundreds of thousands of times more energy). To avoid complications, I will make 3 variants of each calculation, one without weapons, other with Blunt weapons (Maces, Hammers, etc) and another with Cutting weapons (swords, etc). This is to have a minimum ir Low-End with which to calculate the strength of His children, without scaling them to the feats with weapons, to avoid "wank", although as I say, it is 100% certain that the value/energy of "Bare Handed", is MUCH higher than the results.
The Breaking Stones, Spiked Mace and Iron Sword[]
This calc isn't mine is from Antoniofer in vs battle wiki, but im going to change some things:
1) I will change how the width of the rock was measured: As you can see in the image, Kain stands with his shoulders almost diagonally, and due to the perspective of the game, this makes the distance between the shoulders smaller than it really is, but if you walk Kain puts his body totally straight, so you can see better the true measure of the width of Kain, in fact Kain and the rock have the same width.
2) Kain can in fact not only one-shot 2 of these stones, but 3, this will raise the value.
The destruction values for the the rocks and Granite were obtained from here and here.
More feats with the mace, can't scale height, but being parallel to Kain they seems similar in height, Kain's height is 7ft or 213.36 cm.
- Kain’s shoulders (Distance between shoulders is around 3 heads, and 1 head is around 1/8 of the body height) = 124 px = 80 cm
- Stone width = 123 px = 79.35 cm
- Volume = 79.35*79.35*213.36 = 1,343,404.7046 cc
- V. Frag. (Rocks) = 1,343,404.7046*69 = 92,694,924.6174 J = 22.15 tnt kg (Small Building level)
- V. Frag. (Granite) = 1,343,404.7046*103.42 = 416,804,743.649196 J = 33.20 tnt kg (Small Building level), in a good angle, Kain is able to one-shot 3 of these pillars, so would the value would be:
- Rock: 278,084,773.8522 J = 66.46 tnt kg (Small Building level+) {Low-End}
- Granite: 416,804,743.7733 J = 99.61 tnt kg (Small Building level+ {High-End}
Some might think that this is over, but the truth is that no, this calculation is practically at the beginning of the game (after the first boss battle), and as I showed above, Kain for the end of the game, increased his base strength more than 20 times with respect to the beginning of the game, therefore the hits with the mass should also be several times more powerful for the end:
1) When Kain breaks the stones with the mace, at that point in the game, had already drunk the first Blood Fountain which increased his strength, allowing him to move the small granite rock, which was calculated to weight 2.5 tons.
Then Kain drank from two other Blood Fountains and his strength increased until he could move 18 tons, that is, if he went from moving 2.5 tons to 18 tons, Kain's strength increased 7.2 times. Note that the source itself says that Kain's strength has "increased", in a general way, so the increase would apply to all types of strength, including the strength of the blows.
2) Kain by the time he reached the rock zone drank an approximate of 100 people's blood (this varies a little from person to person, but most would have to have a number close to that, maybe a little more or less), and if we remember in Blood Omen 2 he increase at least 30,000 Joules his strength by drinking the blood of 869 people. Kain at the beginning of Blood Omen would have a strength of about 3300 joules, and if we add the blood of the 100 people he had an increase of 3452 Joules with respect to the beginning of the game, that is about 6,752 joules of base strength.
Now the increase of strength that Kain had when drinking the blood fountains is fixed, it is always the same, it has no relation with the increase of strength when drinking human blood, and it has no relation with the base strength of Kain, it would be the same if Kain had 1,000 or 10,000 joules of base strength, the increase is the same, since he would still be able to move only the small rock, but that does not apply to the increase of strength for the blood of enemies, as I said before, Kain's base strength at the beginning is 100% much higher, and therefore the increase of strength by the blood of enemies, would not be so big in relation to his base strength, so instead of almost doubling his base strength (from 3,300 to 6,752 Joules, the increase would only be a fraction of that, to avoid complications, I will only consider the increase by the blood fountain, i.e for the end of the game, the feats with the weapons would be 7.2 times bigger.
I will use only the Low-End as the rocks are clearly not made of granite
- Force with the Spiked Mace (post power-up): 2,002,210,371.73584 Joules = 478.53 of TNT (Building level)
Although it is said that the Spiked Mace only stuns enemies and cannot kill them, this is not true, with the Spiked Mace you can kill any enemy in the game (both human and non-human), but being the weapon that does the least damage in the game is quite complicated.
The Spiked Mace works as follows: The weapon has a two hit combo, the first hit is the one that causes damage, while the second ONLY stuns the enemies, this is seen in the gameplay and confirmed by the official guide of the game, so to know the real difference in strength between the sword and the Mace, just hit one hit with the mace and don't hit the second one. As seen in the video while with the Mace it takes 21 hits to kill the enemy, with the sword it only takes 11, of course that the enemies resist so many hits is a game mechanic, but the difference in damage is there.
That means that the hits with the sword are 90% stronger than with the mace so it would be something like this:
- Force with the Sword:
- Pre power-up: 278,084,773.8522x1.90=528,361,070.31918 Joules = 126.28 of TNT (Small Building level+)
- Post power-up: 528,361,070.31918x7.2=3,804,199,706.298096 Joules = 909.22 Tnt kg (Building level)
So then: Building level with the Spiked Mace and the Iron Sword.
That the creatures resist so many hits (both with the sword and with the mace) is a game mechanic (because it would imply that even normal humans have Building level durability).
It is worth mentioning that in order to "defeat" Malek, Kain has to use the Iron Sword, even though he already has the Spiked Mace, since only the blows with the sword affect him, which would confirm that he is capable of applying more force with the sword than with the Mace.
Kain does that kind of feats through the entire game, so previous feat isn't an outlier
Elder Kain and Wraith Raziel Lifting Strength and Kain minimun strength increase:[]
Before talking about the feats we must know how strong is Raziel.
Raziel Explanation[]
Now besides explaining the Lifting Strength of Wraith Raziel, I will also explain why I chose x11.66 for an "effortless" action and Raziel applying effort: The Elder God confirms that Raziel is able to move "massive obstacles" (in this case that stone block) "effortlessly", which Raziel demonstrates by being able to push the blocks effortlessly, both in gameplay and in cinematics. The block that Raziel moves effortlessly has a weight of 35 tons. Even the official script of Soul Reaver 1 confirms that Raziel moves the blocks "easily" (despite the animations)
Raziel later on is also able to effotrlessly push 4 blocks of Brass, which have a weight of 408 tons. In addition to doing something similar again later, moving another 4 blocks effortlessly (and throughout the game you need to move several blocks together to advance in the story), Raziel can also flip over a stone obelisk weighing 553 tons effortlesly.
As you can see in the videos, Raziel finds no difference between moving 35 tons to 408, Raziel does both things "effortlessly". There is a gap of 11.66 times between both feats, if between the two there is a 11 times gap and both are done "effortlessly", Raziel going from doing something "effortlessly", to Raziel applying effort, would have to be able to apply at least over 11.66 times more strength, probably much more. In other words, let's say that Raziel moves 1 ton effortlessly and then moves 11.66 tons equaly effortlessly, Raziel exerting himself would have to be able to move at least 135.9 tons.
Now, as I said before, I will use a x11.66 for an action performed effortlessly and Raziel using his maximum strength:
Raziel strength[]
408x11=4,757.28 tons, Arms maximum strength.
I don't know how strong the torso area is compared to the rest of the body, and I couldn't find anywhere that specifies it, so I'll assume it's as strong as the arms.
4,757.28 tons=Torso maximun strength.
According to this page (a page of Fitness), the legs are 4 times stronger than the arms.
4,757.28x4=19,029.12 Tons, Legs Maximum Strength.
4,757.28+4,757.28+19,029.12=28,543.68 tons. Raziel maximun strength.
Elder Kain Explanation[]
Now the feat in question: In the cinematic we can see that Raziel throws himself at Kain, Kain easily stops him in the air with one arm, next Raziel struggles to free himself from Kain's grip, using his arms and torso to free himself, but he is not even able to move Kain's arm, all while Kain speaks casually, so it is a feat done effortlessly.
As we saw, Raziel making a visible effort and using both arms and the torso, is not even able to move Kain's arm, who is not making any effort at all. Now I will go for a low value and say that Kain's arm without effort is 50% stronger than Wraith Raziel's arms and torso with effort. Seeing such a massive difference in strength, it is impossible that the number is lower.
Raziel exerting himself can apply at least 11.66 times more force, compared to when he does something "without effort" (as shown above), i.e. if Raziel can move 408 tons without effort using only his arms, exerting himself he can move at least 4,757. 28 tons using the strength of the arms, clearly Raziel is making an effort to free himself from Kain's grip, so that is the force he is using, also keep in mind that he is also making tension with the torso to free himself, as I said I did not find any source that says how strong is the torso compared to the arms, so, I will assume that it is at least as strong as the arms, then the total force that Raziel would be applying would be 9,514.56 tons.
The strength of the legs obviously does not count since Raziel was in the air
If Raziel going from doing something "without effort" to "exerting himself", can apply a force at least 11.66 times greater, Kain, who proved to be physically superior to Raziel, should also be able to apply that difference in force when exerting himself.
Let's say that due to the position Raziel is in he only used a fraction of his maximum force, let's say he only used half the force he used to move the 408 ton blocks i.e. a force of 204 tons. This of course is a Low-End, as I am going to explain later, but let's leave it at that. Raziel also uses the torso to try to free himself from Kain, just like with his arms, he only uses a fraction of the total force, let's say he is using the same force as his arms (204 tons).
So it would be something like this:
Raziel force when trying to free from Kain's grip:
204 tons. Raziel arms strength.
204 tons. Raziel torso strength.
Total force that Raziel applies to Kain's arm=408 tons.
Elder Kain Strength[]
408x1.5=612 tons. Kain one arm strength (without exerting)
612x11.66=7,135.92 tons, One arm maximun strength.
7,135.92x2=14,271.84 tons. Two Arms maximun strength.
14,271.84x4=57,087.36 tons Legs maximun Strength.
14,271.84 tons. Torso Maximun Strength.
Torso+Arms+Legs=85,631.04 tons. Elder Kain Lifting Strength.
Now, if Kain in Blood Omen 1 could move 18 ton rocks using all his body, and The Elder Kain, is able to lift/move 85,631.04 tons, he has an increase in strength of 4,757.28 times. This increase in base strength would also apply to the strength that Kain can apply with weapons. If we multiply the power of Kain in Blood Omen, by that 4,757.28, Elder Kain would have a minimum power of:
- Bare handed: 79,090×4,757.28=376,253,275.2 Joules=89.92 kg of TNT (Small Building level+).
- Blunt weapons: 2,002,210,372.332x4,757.28=9,525,075,360,087.57696 Joules = 2,276.54 tons of TNT (Town level)
- Cutting weapons: 8,209,062,526.5612x4,757.28= 39,052,808,976,359.065536 Joules = 9,333.84 tons of TNT (Town level)
This serves to know the MINIMUM that Kain increased his strength, from his youth to being an Elder vampire, and yes, this would also apply to his striking strength, since the only two ways that vampires increase their strength (through evolution and drinking blood) are stated or directly shown to increase their striking strength.
Note: The Numbers that are here are put using the own feats that the characters showed (like Wraith Raziel demonstrating to be able to apply 11 times more strength when doing something "without effort" to when he exerts himself, and Kain in the same way, since he scales from Wraith Raziel, being Kain much stronger. That the legs are 4 times stronger that the arms, comes from a page of Fitness. The only thing that may vary is the strength of the torso, which for the calculation, I assumed to be as strong as the arms, since I couldn't find a source of how strong the torso is compared to the legs/arms.
These results are assuming that Raziel was only using half as much strength as when he moves (literally effortlessly), the 4 Brass blocks, which doesn't make much sense, while it is true that due to the position, Raziel can't use all the strength of his arms to try to free himself from Kain, the fact that when he moves the blocks he does it effortlessly (not only supported by the dialogue and cinematics, but by the feats when he moves equally effortlessly during the whole game two, three and even again four blocks, and by the feat of knocking down the obelisk, as you can see that he does it casually without straining), and when he tries to free himself from Kain, you can clearly see him straining with his arms and torso, it is obvious that he is applying much more force than when he moves the blocks, even if it is not his maximum strength (x11. 66 times more than when he does something without effort), therefore this result would have to be much higher, at least several times more than what is given here.
Of course this would make the increase of Kain's strength between Blood Omen 1 and Soul Reaver 1/2, to be several times the amount of the original result, which would change the strength of all the characters as we will see later.
This will be very important to calculate the attack potency/striking strentgh of Kain and his children, both in their normal and evolved form.
Kain and Liutenants Attack Potency/power/striking strength:[]
Explanation[]
You would think that with this, Kain's strength would be solved, right? Well, the truth is, that this is just the beginning. As i showed Elder Kain increased at least thousands times his strength compared to Blood Omen 1, however Kain is much stronger than his children combined, and like him, his children also increase their power/strength by evolving and drinking blood, so of course they are much more powerful than when were created and Kain scales above them, so you also have to know their strength, to have Kain's strength.
Although for the blog I will scale the power of the sons of Kain to the feats shown in Blood Omen 2, this is Downplaying, since I would have to scale them to the feats shown for Kain in Blood Omen 1, here is the explanation why. That's why all characters have "Likely Far Higher", because they could easily be thousands/tens of thousands of times stronger than the results shown.
Now to talk about the power of Kain and the lieutenants, we must talk about other 4 VERY IMPORTANT things:
The power of his children depended on the amount of soul Kain used to create them.
The more sons he created, each time he gave them a smaller portion of soul, being Raziel the first to be created and therefore, to whom he gave the largest portion of his soul/power, and Melchiah, who was the weakest lieutenant, due to being the last to be created, receiving the smallest portion of Kain's soul or "gift".
Now, we know that Kain used a "portion of his soul" to create his vampire children, according to the director/writer of the games, then later it is specified that he used a "small portion of his soul" (this is from a magazine interview with Amy Henning, here it is complete).
When Kain created his children he was 530 years old, and although during Blood Omen 2 Kain is very weakened, due to his battle against the Hylden Lord, Kain created his children 100 years after the end of that game, and it is absurd to think that in those 100 years, Kain has not recovered the power he had before his battle with the Hylden Lord (which is 200 years after the end of Blood Omen 1), and it is likely that he is even stronger, however I will opt that by the time Kain created his children, he has only recovered the power he got before being defeated. Since this Kain is 530 years old (200 years in which he was in a coma, and we do not count another 100 years, because that would be the time it would have taken him to recover the power he had before being defeated), it would mean that Kain had 200 years from the end of Blood Omen 1, to become more powerful.
Then he should be around 559.68 times stronger than in Blood Omen 1: If Kain in Soul Reaver 1/2, when he is 2000 years old, is at least 4,757.28 times stronger than in Blood Omen, and that increase was obtained in in 1700 years of evolution, (discounting the 200 years in coma, and the 100 that it will have taken him to recover his previous power), in 200 he become at least 559.68 times stronger, that at the end of Blood Omen 1. The latter is assuming that it took him 100 years to regain his former power, which is unlikely, likely it took him much less time and he would have had a few tens of years more to increase his power.
79,090x559.68=44,265,091.2 Joules or 10.57 Kg of TNT
This would give us that the Kain who created them, has a power/energy of 10.57 kg of TNT.
Now the problem is that "a small portion" is not very specific, this is what we know: Kain is much more powerful than his children combined, which makes sense since they were only created with a small portion of his power.
This will be a spoiler of something I'm going to talk about later in the blog, but it's necessary to do it, although I'll give the sources for this when I talk about this specific topic: Raziel in Soul Reaver 1, when killing his brothers, not only absorbs their special abilities, he also absorbs their power, Raziel absorbs the power of 4 out of 5 of his brothers, and one of them, for different reasons, was much more powerful than he should be normally, and yet Kain is much more powerful than Raziel with the power of his 4 brothers absorbed.
Keep in mind that between the brothers there is a big difference in power and each son is stronger than the previous one (each brother is about 80% stronger than the previous one), this would indicate that Kain gave them a really small portion of his soul/power, however Kain to create their children, as we saw above, was giving them each time a smaller and smaller portion of his soul/power, this would not make sense if he was giving them, for example 1/200th part of his soul to Melchiah, to whom he gave the smallest portion of his soul/power, Kain created 6 children, not tens or hundreds, if he was giving such small fractions to his children, Kain would not have the need to give them a smaller and smaller portion of his soul, so it is understood that despite being a "small portion of the soul", it was relatively large.
However, there are two possible explanations for this:
- 1: The soul portions were indeed large and Kain had to give smaller and smaller ones so as not to weaken, since he was giving both portions of his soul, and his power (and vampires are temporarily weakened by creating other vampires).
- 2: He was giving them smaller and smaller portions so that there was no chance that his children would betray him.
Of the two options I choose the first one, for the simple fact that the second one is pure speculation, and at least in the first one it is supported by something said by the developers.
I will opt that to Melchiah, Kain gave him a 1/100 part of his soul/power when he created him, you may wonder ¿why such a small amount, when I said that this would not make sense?, the explanation will be at the end of the blog to not make this so long, for now we will stay that Kain when creating Melchiah, gave him a 1/100 of his soul/power.
So when Melchiah was created had an energy/power of 0.1057 kg of TNT power. In addition to this, 1000 years in which he and the rest of his brothers, greatly increased his strength/power due to their evolutions and drinking blood.
2) "Lost" Power: As we saw previously, due to his long hinbernation by the attack of the Hylden/Sarafan Lord in the intro of Blood Omen 2 Kain was left with "Much of his former power weakened", with other sources saying that he directly lost his power. However it is very likely that between the end of Blood Omen 2 and the creation of his children he will regain his former power. In fact we know that Kain regained his power from his Blood Omen 1 version, because it is confirmed by both feats and statements that Elder Kain is much more powerful than his Blood Omen 1 version, which wouldn't make sense unless he increased his power MANY times more than the results above.
Literally the difference in power between the Kain from the beginning of Blood Omen 1 and 2 is literally hundreds of thousands of times (Blood Omen 2=1100 Joules. Blood Omen 1=278,084,773.8522 Joules), A difference of energy of 252,804,339 times, although we must remember that by the time Kain destroys the rocks, he had already drunk the first Blood fountain, increasing his strength, and went from moving rocks of 1.3 tons at the beginning, to moving rocks of 2.5 tons, that is, he practically doubled his strength, so the difference would be half of the previous result, i.e a difference of approximately 131,668.9265625 times. Even if we go to the original calculation and say that the rocks were made of concrete, it is still a difference of tens of thousands times the energy, from 1,100 Joules in Blood Omen 2 to 62,285,281.25 Joules or 14.886 Kg (the 9 kg of TNT in the original is just taking into account that he breaks one rock, but as seen he can break 3, and this is at the beginning of the game, before drinking 2 more blood Fountains and increasing his strength multiple times).
If we consider that Elder Kain is "Much more powerful" (and as we saw in the calculations above he is Low-Balling thousands of times more powerful than at the end of Blood Omen), Kain had to have literally increased his power millions of times since the end of Blood Omen 2 (from the 30,000 Joules at the end of Blood Omen to the 9,525,075,360,087.57696 Joules of Elder Kain with weapons), which is "interesting" to say the least.
So it's more reasonable to say that after Blood Omen 2 he simply regained the power he had before.
3) How much they increased their strength in those thousand years: Now we know that Kain at least increased his strength 4,757.28 times in 1700 years, I will say that Kain's sons increased his strength about 2,798.40 times, in a thousand years. If Kain increased 4,757.28 times his strength in 1700 years then his sons in 1000 years, increased his strength 2,798.40 times.
It makes no sense to say that Kain's children increased their strength less than Kain with their evolutions, Kain and his children (and all the vampires of the empire) have the same method of evolution, they enter in a "State of Change/Pupating", and at the end of the process they come out transformed, being stronger, faster and more resilient than before, and having acquired a new ability or "gift". No source says that they increase their power less than Kain, Kain simply increased almost twice as much strength as them, because being older he had more centuries to evolve, (and also he did not suffer from the "Devolution" process).
4) The difference in power between his brothers: There is a great difference of power between them, Something very important is that when Wraith Raziel absorbs the soul of one of his brothers, he not only absorbs his special ability, but also his power (Yes, Raziel absorbed the power of his brothers and absorbed the 100% of it, this will be discussed when i talk about Wraith Raziel), for that we have to talk about their devolved form, For this I will also use Melchiah, Zephon and Wraith Raziel.
Wraith Raziel attacks Devolved Melchiah, and the latter literally laughs at his blows, and of course not suffering the slightest damage. How Melchiah went from being the weakest lieutenant to being superior to the strongest is justified, but it will be discussed later.
Note: Because Soul Reaver 1 has virtually no deatructive feats, I'm going to have to scale the durability feat to Attack potency, I know it's not the best, but it's the only thing that can be used to measure the power of the Lieutenants, none of them have destructive feats, there isn't a single cinematic of them hitting Raziel, and they don't even break the ground when they hit him, which would mean they would be weaker than the very weakened Kain from Blood Omen 2 (which is clearly totally absurd). Soul Reaver is a 1996 game made for ps1 after all.
Raziel has only 2 durability feat (which is Raziel being unaharmed by attacks that can shatter stone), and these feats are useless to determine the power of the lieutenants, since since their creation, they would easily exceed the power to break stone (as we saw the weakest of them, Melchiah, would have a power of 2.4 Kg of TNT, and that's not counting that in reality Melchiah would be easily thousands of times stronger than that), so calculating the difference in power between the brothers by their durability is the only option, since there is no source that indicates of what size were the portions of soul/power that Kain used to create them, and as we know, vampires become more powerful with the passage of time, so it makes sense that they are more powerful than Wraith Raziel.
The important thing is to know how much stronger Melchaiah is than Raziel, if someone literally laughs at the blows you give him, making fun of them, the other person is clearly much stronger. Clearly the intention is to show that Melchiah is much more powerful than Wraith Raziel. Melchiah being 25% more powerful than Wraith Raziel seems appropriate to me. According to a study, a man's punches are on average 162% stronger than a woman's, and yet if a woman of the same height hits a man in the face with full force (as Raziel does with Melchiah), he would not laugh at her without suffering the slightest damage, so the difference in power would have to be greater than 162% but as I say, I'll go for only 25% for a low-end.
This is extremely important for scaling, why? Because Zephon, the second weakest, does not feel Raziel's attacks with Melchiah's absorbed power, having to attack him in his weak points (his legs) and having to use a vampiric weakness (fire) to damage him. Zephon also does not feel the blows of the Wraith Blade, however I will not take this into account, when I talk about Devolved Dumah I will explain why.
Now that Zephon doesn't feel Raziel's blows is even more impressive that Melchiah laughs at them, because if Melchiah laughs at them it means that they are at least strong enough for his body to notice them, although of course they don't do anything to him, Zephon directly doesn't feel them, so it means that the difference in power is bigger, therefore he should be 30% stronger than Wraith Raziel, but let's remember that Raziel has Melchiah's power with him.
Now, i will use hypothetical numbers to make it easier to calculate:
Wraith Raziel has a power of say, 2 tons of TNT, Melchiah is 25% more powerful than that Raziel, i.e. a power of 2,5 tons of TNT, Wraith Raziel absorbs his power and would be with a power of 4,5 tons of TNT, If Zephon does not even feel the blows of that Raziel with the power of Melchiah, it is 30% more powerful, therefore Zephon has a power of 5,85 tons of TNT. In short, each brother is 80% times more powerful than the previous one.
This difference in power would apply to all siblings, both in their normal and devolved form, since the siblings evolve together, the difference in power should be the same, i.e. if Devolved Zephon is 80% stronger than Devolved Melchiah, this difference in power would be the same in their normal forms.
Normal Evolved Vampire form:[]
This will be the power of the lieutenants in their normal vampire form, before they devolve.
The power of lieutenants is listed from the strongest to the weakest:
- Raziel:: 5,589.1698153984 kg or 5.58 tons of TNT=Large Building level likely Far Higher
- Turel: 3,105.094341888 kg or 3.10 tons of TNT=Large Building level likely Far Higher
- Dumah: 1,725.05241216 kg or 1.72 tons of TNT=Building level+ likely Far Higher
- Rahab: 958.3624512 kg or 0.95 tons of TNT=Building level likely Far Higher
- Zephon: 532.423584 kg or 0.53 tons of TNT=Building level likely Far Higher
- Melchiah: 295.79088 kg or 0.29 tons of TNT=Building level likely Far Higher
Devolved Liutenants and Wraith Raziel:[]
After the Sons of Kain served him for a millennium, in an apparent act of jealousy, Kain throws Raziel, his first and most powerful son into the abyss, this is (supposedly) because the latter evolved and obtained wings. Raziel being thrown into the water was burning for "an eternity" (water is like acid for vampires), although being in the water destroyed his physical body, Raziel had survived, now transformed into a wraith and a devourer of souls. Between Raziel being cast into the abyss, and his resurrection as a wraith, "centuries passed" (500 years), in which the Liutenants "devolved", deforming their bodies and increasing in size and transforming into powerful monstrosities by having portions of Kain's soul, even Melchiah who is the weakest is "incredibly powerful", becoming much stronger than before. What Daniel says is confirmed in another interview, saying that the lieutenants and their sons devolved for the corruption of Kain's soul, and how much they devolved depends on how much of Kain's soul they received.
The Elder God confirms that Wraith Raziel is stronger than when he was a vampire, and that "massive obstacles" such as the block can be moved "effortlessly". which would indicate a great increase in strength and that before he could not move it so easily, but the block weighs 35 tons.
Even if we go for the minimum to be Superhuman (superior to 545. 2 Kg), and we were to take into account that Raziel needs to exert himself to move 35 tons, it would mean that Raziel in 1000 years of evolution increased his strength around 78 times in a thousand years, which is not only infinitely inferior to what Kain increased in a similar lapse of time, but as it will be seen below Raziel's own brothers when devolving (which as the name itself indicates is worse than evolving), increased more times their power, and in half the time (500 years), so it doesn't make sense. So taking into account that by the dialogue, Raziel's strength increase from being a vampire to a wraith was quite big (something that presumably cost him, now he can do it "effortlessly"), I will choose an X2 to when he was a vampire, this of course is a Low-End, since if we take into account that Raziel as a vampire had to move 35 tons, it means that being a wraith increased his strength more than 11 times (at least), since as it was seen Wraith Raziel can move 408 tons without effort.
This of course would make Raziel vampire having increased his strength 78 times in 1000 years even more ridiculous, since as we will see the lieutenants would have increased their power more than 250 times in 500 years.
Then Raziel's power upon becoming a wraith would be:
- 11,178.3396307968 kg or 11 tons of TNT=At least City block level likely Far Higher (Wraith Raziel base power)
Raziel by absorbing the soul of his brothers, not only absorbed their abilities (the Intangibility of Melchiah, Imnunity to water by Rahab, etc), but according to the the Defiance comic book (which tells the events of the previous games and is narrated by Kain), it says that Raziel, in addition to absorbing the specific abilities of his brothers, by devouring their souls, he "took their power, as he took their lives", Raziel absorbed the souls of 4 of his 5 brothers in Soul Reaver (Melchiah, Zephon, Rahab, and Dumah, only missing the soul of Turel, which he absorbed in Defiance).
While it is true that by "power" they may refer to the special abilities that Raziel absorbed from his brothers, the following supports that it was not only the abilities, but also their power:
Raziel in Defiance after absorbing Turel's Soul and improving his telekinesis, tells Kain that "NOW my powers may even surpass yours", indicating that his overall power increased, in fact in the fight that Kain and Raziel have in Defiance, it is shown that Raziel is far more stronger than at the end of Soul Reaver 1. Raziel in the final battle of Soul Reaver 1/intro of Soul Seaver 2, is not even able to scratch Kain or make him feel pain using all his strength, even with a kick, but in Defiance after absorbing Turel's soul, he not only makes him feel pain with a headbutt, but even now he is strong enough to rip Kain's heart out, piercing his "natural armor", clearly Raziel is much stronger than before.
People gaining power by absorbing or receiving souls is not something new, as seen above, the sons of Kain themselves received power from the portions of souls they were created with. And then there's everything related to the Spirit Reaver and the Balance Guardians increasing the power of the Wraith Blade and then Kain.
Again, not only does Raziel imply that he had an increase in power, but he is directly seen to be much more powerful than before.
It seems that Raziel absorbs the 100% of his brothers' power, but for that, we will have to see Kain's Durability and the power of the Soul Reaver
Note: To avoid mixing the power of the Soul Reaver with the power of the lieutenants and Wraith Raziel, the explanation is below, but in summary the Soul Reaver is easily at least hundreds of times more powerful than Kain, and he only received scratches from the sword, this is important to know how much power Wraith Raziel absorbs from his brothers. Why?
Beacuse as seen previously, Raziel absorbed Turel's power and now he is not only able to damage him with the Wraith Blade, but he is also able to damage him with his bare hands by ripping out his heart, which would indicate that Raziel's strength is equal to that of the Defiance's Wraith Blade, which is equal that the one from the Soul Reaver, this makes sense since Turel was comparable to Raziel using the Wraith Blade, and he absorbed that power, plus the power than Wraith Raziel already has. So in order to hurt Kain, Raziel had to have absorbed all of Turel's power, and this would also apply to the rest of the brothers.
I will use the same method as before. Devolved Melchiah is 25% stronger than Wraith Raziel and each sibling is 80% times stronger than the previous one.
Devolved Melchiah, Zephon and Rahab[]
- Melchiah: 13,972.924538496 Kg or 13.9 tons of TNT=Multi-city block level likely Far Higher.
- Zephon: 25,151.2641692928 kg or 25 tons of TNT=At least Small Town level, likely Far Higher
- Rahab: 45,272.275504727 kg or 45 tons of TNT= Multi-city block level likely Far Higher
As we see Melchiah when devolving increased his power from 0.29 tons to 13.9 tons of TNT, an increase of 47.93 times, this is assuming that Raziel only doubled the power he had before, as we saw above the increase could have been more than 11 times, if Raziel's increase had been at least 11 times, so instead of the 11 tons of TNT of power (which is the result of doubling the power of when he was a vampire) Wraith Raziel would have at least 61. 38 tons of TNT (5.58x11=61.38), and Melchiah would have a power of 76.725 tons of TNT (25% stronger than Wraith Raziel), i.e. he would have a power/strength increase of 264.568 times. This would be the "High-End" of how much Raziel's brothers could have inculcated when devolving.
Note that the process of "devolution" and "evolution" are two separate processes, as confirmed in this interview "The corruption inherited by the Lieutenants was what caused their faster evolution - and later their devolution". As you can see devolution is taken into account as something separate from normal evolution. Another developer Daniel Cabuco also comment it like this "The Lieutenants, having strong souls and direct portions of Kain's Soul, devolved into powerful monstrosities. The vampires they sired were less powerful, and thus devolved earlier.. I like to look at it like this: they become more powerful as vampires evolving until they hit a certain point, then they start devolving".
As you can see by several developers Devolution is considered different from normal Evolution, this would explain that in the 500 years that passed between Raziel's execution and his transformation as a vampire, the lieutenants have only increased their power a few tens/hundred times, instead of the thousands of times they increased in 1000 years.
Dumah and Turel need their own section, but first let's see how strong Wraith Raziel became by absorbing the power of Melchiah, Zephon and Rahab.
Now if Raziel took 100% of the power that Melchiah, Zephon and Rahab had, the result would be this:
- 11,178.3396307968+13,972.924538496+25,151.2641692928+45,272.275504727=95,574.8038433126 or 95 tons of TNT=Multi-city block level (Wraith Raziel power after absorbing the power of Devolved Melchiah, Zephon and Rahab)
Devolved Dumah[]
Now Dumah is not like the rest, Dumah before devolving completely, was impaled by vampire hunters "dying", this due to his enormous arrogance and believing himself invincible. However his soul went to the spectral realm where "The centuries in limbo have honed his strength", becoming a Vampire Wraith, with the ability to absorb souls and like the rest of them, the longer they are in the spectral realm the more powerful they becomes, and Dumah spent centuries there, he even claims that he is stronger than Kain.
Now it is difficult to know Dumah's power,
The truth is that if we take into account only Soul Reaver, the intention of the developers is that Dumah is more powerful than Elder Kain, this is supported by both the dialogue and the gameplay, being Dumah unaffected by the blows of the Wraith Blade (even the charged one), while Kain in the final battle is wounded by it. The problem is that the following games retconned this: In the intro of Soul Reaver 2, Raziel does not use the Wraith Blade against Kain, likewise both the game and the Defiance comic, say that Raziel absorbed the power of his brothers when killing them, something that surely was not thought so in Soul Reaver.
We have the minimum of his power, since he laughs at the blows of Wraith Raziel with the power of Melchiah, Zephon and Rahab, and he doesn't feel the power of the Wraith Blade either.
Now comes something complicated, the power of the Wraith Blade in Soul Reaver 1: At gameplay level, the Wraith Blade is about 3 times stronger than Raziel using normal hits, and easily dozens of times stronger using charged hits, (being able to blow creatures that resist Raziel's attacks into pieces in one hit). But although Raziel absorbs the power of his brothers, at gameplay level Raziel's strength doesn't change (Raziel obtained the Wraith Blade after the fight with Melchiah). So it's difficult to know if I should scale the Wraith Blade to Raziel after absorbing the power of his brothers or not (that is, if it's 3 times more powerful than Raziel with the power of his 4 brothers absorbed, or if I just scale it to Raziel with Melchiah's power), so to avoid complications, I'll scale to Dumah is at least 25% more powerful than Wraith Raziel with the power of Melchiah, Zephon and Rahab.
However it is certain that he is easily much more more powerful than the rest of his brothers, since he is clearly presented in that way, to the point that he is the only boss that affects the environment when attacking (creating earthquakes that immobilize Raziel at a distance with his blows, of course this does not mean that this is his real strength, otherwise he would be weaker than the Kain at the beginning of Blood Omen, when the original intention was that he is stronger than Elder Kain. It's just a way to show that he is much more powerful than the rest). That's the main reason why I chose that Kain create them with such a small portion of his soul, because even though Dumah is much more powerful than he would normally be, after absorbing his power Raziel is still weaker than Kain.
Now, if Dumah is at least 25% stronger than Wraith Raziel with the power of Melchiah, Zephon and Rahab, then:
- At least 119,468.5048041408 kg or 119 tons of TNT=Multi-city block level, likely Far Higher.
Dumah being 25% stronger than Wraith Raziel with the power of his brothers is a Low-End, since he is probably MUCH more powerful. Now, how much did Dumah's power increase? there is nothing specific, at the very least he would have to be multiple times stronger, than he would normally have to be, probably tens of times, you have to keep in mind that he was increasing his power passively for CENTURIES, in the spectral realm, he couldn't be less than that
So the "Far Higher" is not only because, like the other lieutenants, his power when he was created was probably thousands/tens of thousands of times greater than what is put here, but also that same power is probably many times greater.
Note: Before trying to downplay Dumah, saying "he was pierced by spears wielded by humans" or "he was killed by an explosion that didn't even destroy a building", so he must be weak. As the Elder God himself comments, the vampire hunters ambushed them all when they were distracted, and Impalement and Fire are described as vampiric weaknesses, you can't use a weakness to measure a character's durability/power.
Wraith Raziel in Soul Reaver 1/2:[]
Note: Wraith Raziel base power (RBP), Melchiah Power (MP), Zephon Power (ZP), Rahab Power (RP), Dumah Power (DP)
If Raziel absorbed Dumah's power and we add the power of the rest of the siblings that Wraith Raziel already had, it would be:
11,178.3396307968(RBP)+13,972.924538496(MP)+25,151.2641692928(ZP)+45,272.275504727(RP)+119,468.5048041408(DP)=215,043.3086474534 kg or 215 tons of TNT=Multi-city block level, likely Far Higher
Elder Kain[]
Even after Raziel absorbed the power of 4 of his 5 brothers, Kain stil is much stronger/powerful than Raziel. Now Kain humillated Raziel in strength, who was using both arms and was clearly exerting effort to free himself from the grip, using only one (this minimum puts him x2 over Raziel), to this we must add that Raziel was also using his torso, and lastly, all of the above Kain did while talking casually (i.e. without effort),
If we remember the difference in strength that I gave to Kain with Raziel, Kain's arm would be 11.66 times stronger than both arms and Raziel's torso. While it is true that you can't scale the Lifting Strength with the power of the blows (this because different muscles are used to lift an object than to hit, and other factors), it doesn't make sense that Kain is only slightly stronger than Raziel when hitting and abysmally superior when lifting an object, that difference would be for both things, but for not "wank", the difference will be only 5x, I can't give less taking into account the difference of strength that was shown and more taking into account, that Kain wasn't making any effort when doing it.
It makes sense that Kain would be this powerful considering that he is "One of the strongest vampires that ever exist". Kain also had at 1800 years of evolution to become this powerful, it is not exactly a short time gap, also it was confirmed that Elder Kain is much more powerful than in his youth.
- 215,043.3086474534x5=1,075,216.543237267 kg or 1,075 tons of TNT=Town level, likely Far Higher (Bare handed)
This is only Kain's strength without using weapons. Kain's strength with weapons is much greater than without weapons:
To find the difference I will use as a reference when Kain breaks the stones, almost at the beginning of the game.
Remember that I gave Kain a strength of 3,300 Joules unarmed at the beginning of Blood Omen, and when he drank the first source of blood he almost doubled his strength (an increase of 1.93 times), then he would have an approximate strength of 6,369 Joules and when destroys the stones with the Mace he exerts an energy of 278,084,773.8522 Joules, that is a difference of 43,662.2348645313 times. Recall also that with the sword Kain can apply about 90% more force than with the mass (ie 528,361,070.31918 Joules), therefore the difference between Kain without weapons and using swords would be 82,958.2462426095 times).
Keep in mind that as explained at the end of the Blog, the difference between "without weapons" and "with weapons" is probably MUCH smaller, although this would not make the force go down, because even if the difference is smaller, the force exerted by Kain without weapons, would be greater.
- Blunt Weapons: 1,075x43,662.2348645313=46,936,902.4793711475 tons of TNT=City level.
- Cutting Weapons/Swords: 1,075x82,958.2462426095=89,180,114.7108052125 tons of TNT= City level+
Soul Reaver Power and Kain's Durability[]
Kain in his youth was able to resist the blows of the Soul Reaver with only scratches, the Soul Reaver is easily at least tens of times more powerful than the physical attacks of Elder Kain: While a Red Demon suffers minor injuries from the blows of Elder Kain, needing dozens of blows to kill him, and using the Balance Emblem, which increases the power of the Reaver. The Soul Reaver is capable of blowing 4 of those demons to pieces with a single blow. With this we have the energy needed to hurt Kain, which would have to be equal to that of the Soul Reaver. For more support that the Soul Reaver is much more powerful than Kain (besides the gameplay) we have the following:
"The Soul Reaver, Kain's ancient blade - older than any of us, and a thousand times more deadly. The legends claimed that the blade was possessed, and thrived by devouring the souls of its victims. For all our bravado, we knew what it meant when Kain drew the Soul Reaver in anger - it meant you were dead". This is how Raziel describes the Soul Reaver.
1) It is reconfirmed that the Soul Reaver is much more powerful than Kain. It is clear the intention of the dialogue to indicate that the Soul Reaver is MUCH more powerful than Raziel or Kain. The fact that both the physical version (Blood Omen 1) and the spiritual version (Soul Reaver 1) are capable of blowing to pieces with a single blow, enemies who are able to resist the blows of both Wraith Raziel and Elder Kain with minor injuries (The Vampires in the case of Wraith Raziel, and the Red Demons in the case of Kain), supports the fact that it is much more powerful than them. The fact that, Devolpers, Official guides and Manuals: confirms that the Soul Reaver is a 1 hit weapon. Reinforces that the Soul Reaver is much more powerful than the Kain.
2) Wraith Raziel (after absorbing the power of devolved Melchiah, Zephon, Rahab and Dumah), attacking Kain with all his strength, is not able to do him the slightest damage, so we know that at least, the Soul Reaver is more powerful than Wraith Raziel at the end of Soul Reaver 1.
3) As seen in the video, the Red Demons are able to withstand the blows of Elder Kain, while the Soul Reaver blows 4 of them to pieces in one hit. While it could be argued, that just as the humans in the game are also able to resist Elder Kain's blows by game mechanics, the same would apply for the Red Demons, but while the Red Demons are constantly put as the strongest/hardest enemies that Kain and Raziel face in the games that appears (Blood Omen 1, Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance), while even the weakest version of Kain, showed to be able to punch through thick steel without effort, as well as effortlessly one-shot armored humans in the comics, there is a difference between the two things, the ones are simply humans and the seconds are demonic creatures from another dimension that always are the thoughs enemies in game.
Note: Although the variants of Red Demons that Kain destroys with the Soul Reaver in Blood Omen, are not the same ones he faces in Defiance, it makes no sense that one variant is tens/hundreds of thousands of times stronger/resistant than another, especially when both are from the same era, from Soul Reaver 2 we know that at least they scale up from Soul Reaver 2's Wraith Raziel, as they are set as the strongest and most resistant enemies in the game. The Red Demons with 4 arms (the ones from Blood Omen), are bigger than the small ones of Soul Reaver 2, so they would be more resistant (as shown in Soul Reaver 2 with the Black Demon more bigger=more resistant and powerful).
4) The Soul Reaver was confirmed to be "The most powerful weapon in the LOK (Legacy of Kain) universe", by the developers of Blood Omen 2. It is worth mentioning that something very important in Blood Omen 2 is the Nexus Stone, an artifact of great power that manipulates time and space, and whoever carries the artifact, cannot be hurt by the Soul Reaver, and Umah adds that if it weren't for the artifact, how could the Hylden Lord resist the power of the Soul Reaver, again making it clear that the weapon is extremely powerful. The only characters that have resisted the power of the Soul Reaver (not counting game mechanics), are Kain, Janos Audron and the Hylden lord. All 3 being a special case: Kain for being tied to the pillar of Balance and being created with the heart of Darkness (the heart of Janos Audron), Janos Audron (who only really is hurt by the Spirit Reaver, a weapon about 7 to 8 times more powerful than the Soul Reaver, and who is the most powerful vampire in Legacy of Kain), and the Hylden Lord the most powerful of the Hylden, who were equal in power to the ancient vampires, and was able to humiliate a (weakened) Janos Audron in strength.
The fact that the Soul Reaver is "the most powerful Weapon in the universe", the manuals and guides treating it as a one-shoot weapon, the characters themselves treating it as much more powerful than them, and the sword itself blowing enemies to pieces in a single blow, which can withstand the attacks of Kain and Raziel, would confirm that it is much more powerful than them. So it should easily scale over Kain's values with weapons (City+ level).
Of course the fact that the Soul Reaver is the most powerful weapon in Legacy of Kain, and by feats and statements is much stronger than Elder Kain, makes it scale above Kain's feats with or without weapons.
So if we take into account that it blows 4 Red Demons to pieces it would be 480 times, as you may think it's too high, I'll opt for only x200, less than half, taking into account that a Red Demon only suffers light wounds from Raziel/Kain's hits and the Soul Reaver is able to blow him to pieces in one hit (and not only 1 but 4), easily the difference in energy between both feats is at least hundreds of times, to give an example: There are 4 walls one after the other, someone hits the wall with his bare hands and causes a crack to the first wall, then that person grabs a rocket launcher, and not only blows to pieces the first wall, but the other 3 that were behind, easily is a power/energy difference of hundreds of times, but I'll go for a low number not to raise the result too much.
To avoid complications I will say that the Red Demons of Blood Omen 1, are just as resistant as those of Soul Reaver 2 (which scales to Wraith Raziel after absorbing the power of his 4 brothers), although this would be low-end, since as seen in Soul Reaver 2 the bigger the demon the more powerful and resistant it is, and the Demons of Blood Omen 1 are bigger than those of Soul Reaver 2, therefore more resistant.
So these Red Demons are capable of resisting Raziel's blows with minor wounds, therefore, their durability should be equal to the power of Wraith Raziel, and the Soul Reaver would be 200 times more powerful than that, then:
- 215x200=43,000 tons of TNT=Varies. At least Town level, likely Far Higher.
With this we find both the base power of the Soul Reaver, as well as the power of Turel.
Although as I said this is a low-end, not only am I scaling the Soul Reaver to Wraith Raziel (who is several times weaker than Elder Kain), but as I say several times throughout the Blog, Raziel and the rest of his brethren are surely tens of thousands of times stronger than the numbers in the blog, and therefore since the Soul Reaver's power scales directly from them, the Soul Reaver would also be tens of thousands of times stronger.
However, I will leave the Soul Reaver's power at at least at Town level, likely Far Higher, to avoid complications, the Varies comes from the fact that the sword does more damage with each hit it gives (even striking the air), as well as it grows in power by absorbing the souls of its enemies.
Devolved Turel[]
Turel was summoned back in time by the Guardian of Dimension Azimuth, so it is unknown how old Turel is, but we now that he was in the Pit for a "long time", this may explain why he is so powerful, beacuse he has more time to evolve/devolve an become more powerful, than the rest of his brothers. Turel is powerful enough to resist the attacks of the Wraith Blade, in its Defiance version, and Raziel needs to use his weakness against sound to defeat him. The Wraith Blade in Defiance is equally or even more powerful than the Soul Reaver since it is capable of damaging Kain (as the Soul Reaver), this is also supported by the fact that Raziel after absorbing the power of Turel, is also capable of damaging Kain, having to have a power at least equal to the Soul Reaver to be able to do it.
Final Notes and Clarifications[]
Scaling[]
I'm not going to ignore all the scaling when there are multiple sources of everything, from Kain being much more powerful than in his youth, his children only having a small part of his power, Raziel absorbing the power of his siblings, etc.
Soul Power[]
The issue of how much power/soul he gave to his children to create them is the most complicated issue, since nowhere is specified how big or small was the portion of soul he used to create his children, So it is literally impossible to know what power/portion of soul he gave to each son, you have to speculate a little. To each son that Kain created, he gave a smaller and smaller portion of his soul (and the portion he gave to Raziel, which was the "biggest", was already considered small). Then why did I put that to Melchiah (who was the one who received the smallest portion of the soul), Kain only gave him a 1/100 of his soul? The answer is Devolved Dumah. He was for centuries passively increasing his power in the spectral realm, to the point that in Soul Reaver 1 he was more powerful than Kain himself (although this was retconned for Soul Reaver 2), and it should be noted that Dumah previously had only a small portion of Kain's power, so Dumah would be dozens of times stronger than he would normally be. But even after Retcon and that Dumah is no longer more powerful than Elder Kain, he is still far superior to the rest of his brothers, not only because of the narrative, but he is the only boss in the game that affects the environment when attacking the ground, showing the intention of being much more powerful than the rest. And yet Elder Kain is still much stronger/powerful, this is demonstrated by Wraith Raziel absorbing the power of 4 of his 5 brothers including Devolved Dumah, and Kain is still much more powerful/stronger than his sons combined, for this to be so, Kain had to have given them really small portions of soul, that he gave Melchiah 1/150th of his power fits with this, since Dumah could have increased his power dozens of times (of what he would have had normally) and Kain would still be far superior to them.
It is impossible to have a 100% correct answer as the amount of soul is mostly speculation but that amount, or a similar amount, is what seems to make the most sense.
Of course if the soul portions were larger, the power of their children would increase, but this and other things are covered by the "Far Higher".
Why everyone has "Far Higher"[]
As I explained before, Kain in Blood Omen 1 does not use his fists and instead uses weapons to attack, unlike in Blood Omen 2 that does use them. As Kain logically does not fight with his bare hands in Blood Omen 1, the amount of strength/energy that is set Here (the 3300 Joules), is totally speculative and is obtained by scaling the Kain of Blood Omen 2 to a hypothetical version of Kain attacking with his bare hands in Blood Omen 1, but this brings up the main problem: The difference in strength between the feats of the different versions: In Blood Omen 2 Kain starts the game being able to punch through the chest of a person with his hands and rip out his heart, this was calculated in about 1,100 joules of energy. Meanwhile Kain at the beginning of Blood Omen 1 can do things like Shatter multiple rocks of his same size with a single hit of the mace, which as calculated above is around 278,084,773.8522 Joules, a difference in force of 252,804.3398656364 times, and this is without counting that he is able to apply more force with the sword than with the mace. But you have to remember that, Kain had already drunk the first blood fountain before destroying the rocks, which increased his strength by 93% or 1.93 times (Kain pass from moving 1.3 tons to 2.5 tons), so in reality Kain's strength with the Mace at the beginning of the game would be around 144,085,375.0529533679 Joules, then the real difference of strength between the Kain at the beginning of Blood Omen 1 and the Kain of Blood Omen 2, would be of 130,986.704593594 Joules.
Now one could say that the feats of Blood Omen 1 are outliers, but they aren't for two reasons:
- 1) First and most importantly: It was confirmed that the Kain of the beginning of Blood Omen 2 is very weakened, you cannot say that the feats of Blood Omen 1 are outliers, when we are comparing it with a very weakened version of the same character
- 2) As shown above, Kain does that kind of feat during the whole game not just once or twice. Even with other materials like ice or even metal, he still practically pulverized them.
Now why is the difference in strength between the different versions so important? For the simple fact that I scaled the base power of Kain's children to the very weakened version of Blood Omen 2 not to the version of Blood Omen 1, I did this to avoid "Wank", since of course, this would make the base power of his children (when they were created) MUCH higher, the problem is: A person does not increase his strength tens/hundreds of thousands of times just by grabbing a mace or a sword, and as I said at the beginning of the Blog, the Iron Sword and the Spiked Mace are totally normal weapons, so the sons of Kain would have to scale from the power/strength that Kain showed with his weapons in Blood Omen 1 (plus of course the increase of strength he had with the blood fountains, and the hundreds of years of evolution, that made him stronger), and not a hypothetical version of a Kain "without weapons or bare handed", as I did, especially when it was confirmed that this version is very weakened, logically to have a difference in strength of tens/hundreds of thousands of times between the "unarmed" version I use, and the version with weapons, the base power of the children would be tens/hundreds of thousands of times greater, and also the power of Elder Kain and the Soul Reaver as they scale from them.
Even if the strength from "without weapons" to "with weapons" wasn't the same, there wouldn't have to be such a massive difference between the two, and we know this is the case, since as I said it was confirmed that the unarmed version of Kain in Blood Omen 2 has "much of his former power weakned", so it is confirmed that Kain's unarmed strength/power would be much higher than the 3300 joules I gave him, and this is proven since even Kain's best strength feat in Blood Omen 2 near the end of the game (matching Magnus' strength), is dwarfed by any of Kain's feats in Blood Omen 1 at the beginning of the game.
Downplaying/Lowballing and Wank[]
Vampires strength increase by evolution[]
The number of how much the vampires increased their power in their years of evolution comes from the calculation of Kain humiliating Wraith Raziel in strength, this serves to compare how many tons could move the Kain of Blood Omen 1 compared to Elder Kain, and to have a minimum of how much the vampires could increase their strength.
Sorry to repeat myself so much, but since the above is important this is also important, the truth is that the result of the calculation, is a Low-Ball: The result is assuming that Wraith Raziel was using half as much strength as when he effortlessly moves the 408 tons, which makes no sense since when he moves the 408 tons blocks he does it literally "effortlessly" (as I said, the Elder God confirms that Raziel can move the blocks "effortlessly", supported by both gameplay and cinematics, where Raziel simply pushes the blocks. Also throughout the game he moves 2, 3 and even again 4 blocks equally effortlessly, {We see that the animation is exactly the same as when he moves a block in the cinematics, i.e. he also moves them effortlessly}, there is also the obelisk feat where as I said before, you can see that he is not straining), and when Raziel tries to free himself from Kain's grip he is clearly straining, therefore applying much more force, and the result of Kain's force would be several times bigger.
I repeat this because if the number of times Kain increased his power from Blood Omen 1 to Soul Reaver 1/2, is several times higher, his children would also increase their power/strength several times more than shown above.
I know that seeing characters increase tens/hundreds of thousands of times their strength seems wank, but keep in mind that these characters started with a very small base strength, and had a thousand years to increase their power, it's not exactly a "short" time frame to have such a massive increase, and there are no things that contradict it either, besides the obvious limitations of the gameplay and technology and the years in which the games were made.
Destructiviness and Downplaying[]
If I base it on the destructiveness of the characters or the game mechanics, it would be a disgusting downplay, As for example "Wraith Raziel needs a power-up to get through some bars", or things like "Raziel needs to throw several punches and strain to punch through a human in armor, he's clearly a street tier character.", that it would mean that Wraith Raziel would be weaker than Magnus in Blood Omen 2, (who a young and very weakened Kain scales), which as I say is completely ridiculous and absolutely stupid, because (besides Raziel himself has such a feat, but let's say he doesn't) Raziel in Soul Reaver 1 and 2, scales Kain from the end of Blood Omen 1 (Which I showed that he exerts an energy/force of hundreds of Kg of TNT with his blows): Before the end of Soul Reaver 2, the events of Blood Omen 2 and Defiance never happened, they happened because Kain and Raziel at the end of Soul Reaver 2 altered history, making Blood Omen 2 and Defiance exist, in the "original" timeline that the events of Soul Reaver 1 and 2 occur, Kain created his children immediately after Blood Omen 1, therefore in the original timeline Kain was never weakened, so that can't be used as an excuse.
As we saw with Kain in Blood Omen 2, the energy to punch through a human in armor is around 1327.65 Joules, Kain at the time of creating his children could apply a force of 2,002,210,371.73584 Joules using the Mace (the type of weapon with which he applies less force), a difference of 1,508,085.9953570896 times.
Unless Kain literally gave 1/1,000,000,000th of his soul/power to Raziel (which I'm sure I don't have to explain what the problem is here right?), it's absurd to believe that Raziel actually needs to exert himself to punch through a human in armor and take that as "canon".
For the sake of argument, let's say that Kain gave Raziel only a 100,000,000th of the force he can apply with the mace when he created him.
2,002,210,371.73584÷100,000,000=20.0221037174 Joules
To give you an idea of how low this is, the average human punch has an energy of 150 Joules, and the lowest I could find was 37 Joules.
Well to this we should add that as seen throughout the blog, vampires increased thousands of times their strength in those thousand years (even if we go through the process Devolution, Melchiah went from a force of 0.23 tons of TNT to a force of 13.9 Tons, an increase of 47 times, and this is in 500 years and Low-Balling, so the lowest number you can have is 100 and I repeat this is an extreme Low-Balling).
20.0221037174x100=2,002.21037174 Joules
So even Low-Balling to the extreme both the power Kain gave Raziel when creating him, and the strength he increased as he evolved, Raziel being a vampire would already be stronger than Kain at the beginning of Blood Omen, and would already have the strength to replicate Kain's feats at the beginning of the game.
And finally, Wraith Raziel is more powerful than when he was a vampire.
In order for the 1,327 Joules in Wraith Raziel to make sense and for this to be something canon, the strength when he was created would have to have been hundreds/thousands of times weaker than an average human, which is absurd because being a vampire automatically makes you stronger, and tougher than a Normal human.
As you can see it does not have the slightest logic. AND even if we ignore Scaling and said that Raziel dosen't scale to Kain's power, it still doesn't make any sense that Raziel will need to strain to punch a human through his armor.
If we go for destruction=power, the Kain of Blood Omen 1 would be the most powerful vampire in Legacy of Kain by showing the greatest destructive feat, even Elder Kain would be weaker than the Kain at the beginning of Blood Omen 1 since to "Elder Kain is takes him 3 strikes to break a wall", which as I said is absurd use a single Anti-Feat to see the strength of Elder Kain, since there are both feats and statements of Elder Kain being much more powerful than before (and every single feat of Kain in Blood Omen 1 is better), as well as multiple sources of vampires increasing their power when evolving (including manuals, not even developers statements) something that we not only see directly with Kain (going from moving 18 tons with his whole body, to humiliating someone with only one arm, who can move more than 400 tons effortlessly), but also with his children when they devolved, being that when they were normal vampires, Raziel was the most powerful son, and Melchiah the weakest, but when Raziel came back as a wraith (and even more powerful than before), Melchiah literally laughs at his blows.
None of the lieutenants have destructive feats, but no for that I'm going to put them weaker than Kain at the beginning of Blood Omen 2, more with everything explained above.
Scaling exists for a reason, and I'm not going to ignore it, especially in this case that Kain see if literally gave them PART OF HIS POWER to create them, they scale to Kain to a 100%, the same goes for other Vampires like Vorador or Janos Audron (one the most powerful vampire of his time and the other literally the most powerful vampire of all time), Vorador for example does not have destructive feats, but we know he is more powerful than Kain in Blood Omen 1 because of what the game shows us, being able to kill/destroy Malek, where Kain could not destroy him and had to summon Vorador for help to kill him, he does not have the destructive feats but he is clearly more powerful than Kain.
The same goes for Janos Audron by destructive feats would be weaker than Kain from Blood Omen 1, but not only by statement is he much stronger than Elder Kain (Kain is "One of the strongest vampires that ever existed", while Janos is considered the most powerful, and was able to fight equally, (although Janos is a little more weaker), while being possessed, against Wraith Raziel using the Spirit Reaver, a weapon multiple times more powerful than the Soul Reaver (the Soul Reaver itself being tens or even hundreds of times more powerful than Elder Kain, as shown above).
As a last try to keep the numbers as low as possible to avoid "Wank", to the point of Downplay on some things (like the strength Raziel applies when trying to break free from Kain's grip or scaling the power of Kain's children, to the feats of this same in Blood Omen 2 and not those of Blood Omen 1, when this version is confirmed and shown to be much weaker, which lowered the results literally tens of thousands of times), but as I say the results here would have to be MUCH bigger, and if you think even these numbers are too big (the lieutenants and Kain being above Building level), because "X character is blocked by a door, and has to go through another side", "doesn't destroy the environment when he hits the ground" or "has to hit humans several times to kill them, clearly they are only slightly stronger than normal humans" I don't know what else to do.
Besides that kind of thing happens in literally ANY video game that has a protagonist with superhuman strength, like Kratos who is shown to be able to break huge rocks, but has to open a door by doing a puzzle and just doesn't get through it, this happens in practically every game that isn't a destruction simulator, because the character couldn't just bust through the wall and skip you half a level, even when the character has feats that show he could do it.
Another thing to ignore Elder Kain's anti-feats would be the weakest vampires in Kain's empire: The Melchiahim. As I showed throughout the blog, Melchiah is Kain's weakest son by receiving the smallest soul portion, his sons also create vampires in the same way as their father, giving fragments of their souls, logically being melchiah the weakest son, his own sons will also be the weakest, since the power of them also depend on the amount of soul they used to create them, and not only that, Melchiah was the one who created more sons, therefore making them even weaker, something explicitly confirmed. Each lieutenant created "hundreds of children" for his clan (i.e. how minimum there are 200 vampires for each clan), being that the Melchiahim outnumber the Turelim 3 to 1, which means that Melchiah has at least 600 children (although it is true that Daniel said that it was his opinion, taking into account that Daniel had already confirmed that Melchiah, created vast numbers of vampires compared to Turel, who created few children in comparison but more powerful, it makes sense that it is a difference of 3 to 1, and that there are hundreds of vampires in each clan. More considering that Kain was able to conquer all the strongest cities in Nosgoth in only 100 years, Nosgoth being the entire world, and larger than a continent, which would need even a small army to do so), i.e. a Melchiahim would have at least 1/600th of Melchiah's power, and as I will show later, it is likely to be even an even smaller portion of power), and yet an '"Adult Melchiahim"' the second weakest type of vampire only behind the Fledgling Melchiahim, are strong enough to Enter and charge through multiple meters of stone in seconds with their bare hands, this feat is of course FAR SUPERIOR to Elder Kain destroying a wall with several hits (even if there is no destruction, remember that Soul Reaver is a game originally created for psx/PS1, don't expect stage destruction). As I said before, if we go by feats it would mean that the weakest vampire in Kain's empire would be multiple times stronger than Kain, which obviously doesn't make any sense. This of course would be only if we take into account the destructive feats, and ignore all the lore, which I will not explain again because it does not make any sense, and the scaling is 100% confirmed and valid.
If we do not scale the strength of Kain's children to how much Kain increased his strength with his evolution over the years (i.e. Kain increased X times his strength in a given time, therefore his children increased it x in a specific period of time, in this case 1000 years), and we scale it to the strength shown by the Melchaihim, it is likely that the strength of Elder Kain and his children would be even higher: A Melciahim would have an approximate 600 part of the power of his father, maybe more or even less, since being an adult as seen in the gameplay and confirmed by manuals, an Adult Melchiahim is several times stronger than a Fledgling Vampire, but at the same time, 600 is the lowest number of children Melchiah could have created, he could have created even more, making the power of his children for example only 1/800 or 1/1000 part of his power. The latter in fact is most likely, the manuals confirm that after they conquered Nosgoth, the lieutenants got bored, so they allowed the different factions to play against each other, betting on the winner. Kain's empire lasted 1000 years, (it took them 100 years to conquer Nosgoth, and they had their golden age of 900 years) then as I said, 500 years passed in which the vampires devolved, and yet there are still Fledgling vampires, that is vampires that were created recently, those of course, are not the vampires that Melchiah created to conquer Nosgoth, so it is likely that Melchiah would have created more than 600 vampires, however I will leave it at 1/600 as a minimum, of course, if Melchiah had created more children, his power would be higher, because instead of being 600 times stronger than his children, he would be 800 or 900 times for example stronger. It should be clarified that vampires recover their power with time after creating children, so it is not that Melchiah has become 600 times weaker, having created her children.
