Introduction[]
In Aftertale, Undyne and Toriel lift a giant boulder in a "friendly competition" initiated by Papyrus.
Calculation[]
Boulder's diameter and radius[]
- Sans' height = 164 px = 143.349915966 cm;
- Boulder's (rough) diameter = 198px = 173.068800983 cm;
- Boulder's (rough) radius = 173.068800983 cm / 2 = 86.5344004917 cm
Mass of boulder[]
Since boulder has a roughly spherical shape, I will use the sphere volume formula as an estimation for the volume, so V = (4/3)πR³:
- Volume = (4/3) × π × 86.5344004917³ = 2714282.06493 cm³ = 2.71428206493 m³;
- Density: 2700 kg/m³;
- Mass = density × volume = 2700 × 2.71428206493 = 7328.56157531 kg
Now, that's what Undyne lifted, although struggling. Sans is 8 times weaker than her, while Toriel is 10 times stronger, so:
- Mass of the boulder Sans should be able to lift, although struggling: 7328.56157531 / 8 = 916.070196914 kilograms
- Mass of the boulder Toriel should be able to lift, although struggling: 7328.56157531 × 10 = 73285.6157531 kilograms
- Mass of the boulder someone with 9999999 ATK should be able to lift, although struggling: 916.070196914 × 9999999 = 9160701053.07 kilograms
Physical AP[]
Since this is technically a KE feat, why not calc the AP? Let's look into Undyne's lifting of the boulder:
- Boulder's diameter: 215px (roughly, given that exact center can't be found here) = 173.068800983 cm;
- The distance that boulder was moved by Undyne = 140px = 112.695963431 cm = 1.12695963431 m;
- Timeframe: Given that she does it while saying a supposedly sudden and quick statement "AND BECAUSE I LOSE TO NO-ONE!", it would be reasonable to assume that the timeframe was 0.5 seconds.
- Speed = 1.12695963431 / 0.5 = 2.25391926862 m/s
- Kinetic Energy = 7328.56157531 × 2.25391926862^2 / 2 = 18615.1036265 Joules
Again, since that's Undyne's feat, we can scale others since Sans is 8 times weaker than her, while Toriel is 10 times stronger, so:
- Sans' physical AP: 18615.1036265 / 8 = 2326.88795331 Joules
- Toriel' physical AP: 18615.1036265 × 10 = 186151.036265 Joules
- Frisk's weapon AP: 2326.88795331 × 9999999 = 23268877206.2 Joules
Results[]
Since the Sans height calculation had 2 significant figures, our results must have two as well:
Lifting Strength[]
- Sans: 920 kilograms (Class 1);
- Undyne: 7300 kilograms (Class 10);
- Toriel: 73000 kilograms (Class 100);
- 9999999 ATK: 9.2 teragrams (Class G)
Attack Potency[]
- Sans: 2.3 Kilojoules (Street level);
- Undyne: 19 Kilojoules (Wall level);
- Toriel: 1.9 Megajoules (Wall level);
- Frisk's weapon: 23 Megajoules (Large Building level+)
Good lifting strength feat. Also funny it goes 1, 10, and 100. As for Attack Potency though... yeah, that's rigged.
